Not eating for a week after a fill?

My band like sistasassy is very much dependent on the time of day regardless of what time in the month or fills. My doctor tells me 24 hours of lliquids after my fill, but i've noticed that when I go to eat regular food like they say I can on the second day I can keep down. Also lately I've noticed that liquids are hard to keep down and I get burpy and cough up the liquid like a baby sometimes burps up food when you burp them. I hate getting my fills because it is the most uncomfortable time during the whole month, but I stick through it for the end results.

    Still Hungry...

I had my first fill on Monday, March 23, 2009 after losing 18 pounds, so far i've lost 6 lbs, and my dr has me eatting three meals a day weighing each portion as 3oz of protien and 1 oz of vegetables. I've noticed that the 4oz. of food does not satisfy me, and i find snacking (eventhough it's like 2oz of food such as dried fruit, nuts, carrot sticks, etc.) more tempting. Is this normal? Should I call my dr and schedule another appointment for a fill? or should i just wait it out till my appointment? My next fill appointment is on Monday, April 20, 2009.

    Tricare and the Lap band

Hi, I had the this procedure done and i am insured under tricare prime. My procedure was on february 20th of this year. As far as tricare prime goes it has the minimal requirements, and it will completely cover all expenses. You need a couple thing inorder to get ur referral from the insurance for the consultation. You need to have your primary doctor recommend you for the surgery, you need to be 100lbs over your structures normal weight and you need to have hypertension, diabetes, or a couple of other medical problems that come along with being morbidly obesite. Once you have those down it's pretty much very easy from there. It's a bit of a prolonged process, but if you're serious about having the surgery done, it's completely worth it. I don't recommend Mexico procedure because they're not as educated nor experienced as our surgions in America. Not only that, but the people who get their procedure done in Mexico or out of country end up having serious complications. I'd just deal with Tricare. They're a pain in the butt most times, but with this surgery, honestly i had no problems with the insurance. Hope this helped...

    Fabulous February Bandsters Unite!

Hello everyone! I got banded on February 20th of 2009. It was my first surgery ever. I'm on day 7 now and still have gas pains. I walk and sit up straight, which for the most part works; however when i go to lay down my tummy gets upset and grumbles, or like today i got this HUGE pain in my left shoulder. My dr had told me that the gas right after the surgery was normal, but is it normal to last this long? It's not consistant, but I have it some days and others I don't. It's weird. Hopefully someone can help me... Thanks!:tt2:
