I am not sure of your insurance but when I first started my process to get a approved I was with Cigna and they required I had to be under a Dr's care for 6 months. I changed Dr.'s a couple of times and did not have 6 months in a row. Then my company change the insurance in Jan/09 to Aetna and they required 3 months I had my dr that was trying to get me approve for my band just summit all of my paper work for all of my Drs. and they came back and approved me and I was banded on 03/30/09. I was banded on 03/30/09 and my Dr. also did a hiatal hernia and everthing went great I went the same night and was back at work within 6 days. My insurance approved the entire surgey I have Aetna. Good luck and I hope all goes well

I am trying to keep up the shakes, but mine are so sweet. So I drink one a day. the only meat I can get down is chicken. I am to scared about steak. I am going to try my ticketer wish me luck.

Congrates on your band. I still have not figured out how to put my ticker up but I am working on it. What are you able to eat now? Because I almost can get anything but I get full faster. I can not eat bread at all, so I do not even try, but most anything else, seems to be easy. So I am sticking with counting calories. I am eating 1,000 calories aday and doing pretty good. :eek:

scarletttara, Good luck I hope everthing works out for you. I just wanted to give you a heads up. I was banded on March 30th and I have lost about 20 pounds but that yeaning to eat is not curved at all, at least for me. I am an emotional eater and I am hoping everything will change once I have my first fill. Right now I am counting calories and following Dr.'s order but that yearning to snack or wanting to eat is still there.

Hello to all I was banded on March 30th and have lost a total of 20 lbs but have gained 2 lbs back. I really am battleing with not snacking but after a total liquid diet just eating anything I have gain 2 pounds back. I have read many comments and it is amazing to me at how many of us are not as supportive and seem to pass judgement and feel we are helping each other. I did not become overweight overnight and I will not loose weight overnight. I am an emotional eater and just because I made my mind up to do better. This is a long life battle and I feel like I am fighting and I am fighting everyday. Some days are better than others. I hope and pray I will win. I just really hope we think and think hard about how we respond to people. Thank all of you for your possible comments, and congrats to all who are not having as hard of a time as some of us.:sneaky:

Thank you for your imput I started at 218, I am on my 2 week of my liquid diet and I must say it is not really going too well. I am down to 208 right now and I am going to be banded on Monday March 30th. I am 5'1 and suffer with sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and lower back pain. I am looking forward to no longer taken that blood pressure pills and having a pain free day. Thanks again:thumbup:

I am also getting my done on the 30th in Carrollton Texas. Are you on a liquid diet, if so how are you doing? I am really having a hard time with that, but I am also really excited. I having be trying for amost 2 years and I have 2 friends that have had it done and they are very pleased with it. Good luck and keep in touch.:tt1:

My name is Crystal I live in Little Elm Texas I am having my surgery in Carrollton Texas, on the 30th of March.

I am really having a hard time with this liquid diet. I became really really sick the 1st 3 day of the day so they had me eat something and only want me to go straight liquid the last 3days before the 30th. I go for my pre-op tomorrow. I have lost 8 pounds, but I am ready to get this over with. The waiting is killing me.:huh2:

I am also getting banded on the 03/30. My pre-op appointment is not until Wednesday. Did you have to do a liquid diet, and if so how are you doing? I am really struggleing with it. Well keep us informed, good luck.

Well guys this is my first day on my liquid diet, and I must say the 1st day seems to be really hard. My husband decided to do the liquid diet with me so I could have some support. One day down and 13 more to go. Crystal

Thank everyone for your support. I had to call my dr. today I was suffering with a bad headache and the shakes. He said I was through sugar and caffeine withdrawal. He told me to drink a diet soda and chew some bubble gum. It has help with the shakes; my head feels a lot better. I can deal with it now. I know this will pay off in the long run and that is what keeps me going. :thumbup:

Paula good luck, I was denied twice before by 2 different insurance companies. Aetna finnally approved me My surgey date is 03/30/09 I start my liquid diet on the 16th. Keep us informed. Crystal:thumbup:

Hello all, I am new to the site, but very excited to be on a site where everyone is either going through the same thing or has had the procedure done. I have been trying for 2 years to have my lap band done and my insurance approved it about a week ago I am going to have the surgery done on March 30, and I need to start my liquid diet on the 16th of March. Can some of you give me feed back on the two week before surgery of the total liquid diet was it hard?
