  1. Hi snow, Not long to go!!! Could u add ur band date to ur signature, cause i have a hard time remembering when everyone gets banded, lol. I'm pretty sure u r around the 11th, is that right? If so how excited and nervous r u... I'm feeling both, but i'm so glad there r a few of us going at the same time so we can ask if what we r going through the other is too, lol

    3.5 days for me too. In less then 2 hrs it will be midnight here in Australia... so it will be 3 days!!!! Oh my goodness, i'm excited and nervous all at the same time. All you March banders about to be done hang on tight it's going to be an awesome roller coaster of a ride. So glad i have all of you taking it with me....makes it not so scary.

  5. G'day just wanted to say hi, i get my band on the 11th. I'm excited and nervous all at once. Have u got ur pj's ready to pack lol. i say this cause i had to go out and buy a new pair to take to hospital and finding a nice pair in my size was not fun.... when i loose this weight i'm gonna have the cutest pair of pj's lol.

  6. I'm doing o.k on the shakes, mainly because i like the coffee ones. I am aloud some vegies at night, like brocilli, cauliflower, zuchini, onions, green beans, tomatoe. But trying to think up ways to eat them is hard. mostly i just stir fry them with a little chilli and garlic and sometimes i add them to tomatoe soup. Yesterday i had the worst headache all day and i just couldn't shake it, as i don't get headaches often i wondered if it was from the diet. I'm taking berrocca vitamins so it shouldn't be from my diet. I miss a nice barbeque steak too, but mostly bread and potatoe. Cooking for the rest of the family means i am seeing all this yummy food and smelling it and i know if i wasn't getting banded in 6 days there is no way i could stick to this diet. I haven't been told about clear liquids the day b4 my op although it does make sense. I'm not having any probs with sleeping, thank goodness.
  7. I would love to be eating that... but i have to do the shakes. I will definitly try it after i am banded cause my mouth was watering and my tummy was grumbling just reading it, lol. yum.

    12 days in 2 days till surgery

    just wanted to let you know there are also coffee flavoured shakes in the Optifast range, they helped me sooo much to get through the shake time. Although i still have 6 days to go.

By the way although i have been told, i still have no idea where my signature is or how to get the ticker to it. Was hoping to get it on b4 i get banded, lol. Love to hear from u.

    Hi all, i get my band on March 11th 09. is there anyone else getting lapband then? Also how do u add the ticker? I have filled it, but don't know how to add it. Someone said add it to my signature... buti don't know where or how.

    Hi I get banded on March 11th too. I have told some people. My family is supportive. I told a friend i only see a couple of times a year thinking she would be safe to tell. Would you believe she asked me to come visit her (a 5hr drive) and stay a few days, and then she said... so she could see how big i was now and then how i look when i loose it. I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it, but there was no way i was coming up to feel on display, especially being over weight! Please, i think i was too shocked to say anything. I found this website yesterday because i really need to keep my mind active and off the fact i feel like i am starving right now. Plus it helps that just about everyone understands. 11 days to go and i just want it over and done with i hate feeling hungry all the time.
  16. Hi i'm new to the forum today, I guess i came looking on line because i am just a little nervous. I get my band on March 11th 2009. I have started my 2 week diet yesterday. (craving carbs already) Do most of u actually loose all the weight you were hoping too? I just can't imagine it for myself yet.

    Hi, it's nice to meet someone about to start like me.:thumbup: Oh my goodness how exciting, we will be able to exchange how we went with the surgery ect. I just can't shake my nerves about it and the long term things like if food gets stuck or something. But i am glad i am doing it and can't wait just to be able to go into a shop and buy something that suits me instead of the ugly clothes around for bigger people. Plus it will be nice for people to know me and not base it on my size. I have been asked to follow a shake diet (although they said i didn't have to but it is better if i did). The one i am using is called Optifast. I take it for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can also have a little bit of fruit, like 15 strawberries a day, a cup of watermelon, 10 grapes, i slice of pineapple a day if i like. I have some fruit for breakfast with a coffee flavour shake(missing my morning coffee) and some fruit for morning tea and afternoon tea. I have lettuce, tomatoe and cucumber and a strawberry shake for lunch. (really missing bread, aaarrr carbs yum) For dinner i stir fry some broccoli, green Beans, cauliflower, zucchini, spinich, onioins and or tomatoe. I add flavour like garlic or tomatoe paste or chilli, or soy sauce ect. (really missing meat and potato) Then i have a chocolate shake and a diet jelly for dessert. My bmi is 40 and i have a lot to loose. (just over 42kg at least) can't believe i have put that up here, my hubby doesn't even know my weight. love to hear back from you. I think although this is only my second day on this site, that there is a March group on here. P.S how do u add ur tracker on? I went to the site but as yet it hasn't come up with my name.
