  1. I had my surgery Sept. 8th. I have lost 18 lbs. My physian started filling my band 6 weeks after surgery and I am up to 6 cc's as of Thursday. I did great Thursday no issues I was on liquids. Yesterday I did great had a piece of ham and baked potato chips. When down great. Then supper hit me. I had been craving a hamburger. I have not attempted this. Did not have the bread, just the fixings. Took a bite and I thought I felt strange in my stomach. Took a couple of more bites and the pain hit. I managed to get something up, but it was not the meat. Could not drink anything. So I went to bed and thought it would go down during the night. Woke up and did breakfast. Took a bite of egg and it's not going down. Do I need to go to the ER and have them deflate me?

    September 2009 Band Date

My date is September 8th. I have my EGD on the 2nd. I am neverous and excited. The only part that scares me is the 1 week pre-op diet. I thought 1 week was bad, but some of you guys have had 2 weeks. So I have no room to complain. It would be great if someone from the Dallas area is having their's around the same time. If so let me know.
  3. Hi everyone! I am so glad to have found this site. I am 35 years old and I weight 247 and I am 5'8 which puts me at a BMI of 37. So that means I need co-morbidities to get approved. It has been a long wait. I started the process in March with the LB workshop. I got word that my insurance (which is Aetna PPO) requires you to do a 3 month weight managemet with your surgeon, 1 physic consult, and 3 nutrition consults and a letter from my PCP. We have everything submitted and it has been 2 weeks today since I had my last appointment with the surgeon. I am to the point I am ready, but scared. I have never been this size, but started to gain weight after my hysterectomy 8 years ago. I have tried many things, but nothing seems to work. I am an active person. I already have asthma, just diagnosed with rheumotoid arthritis, sleep apena. I hope that is enough to get approved. The only part I am worried about is the protein shakes. I have not found one that I can learn to like. Hope I make lots of friends. The waiting is killing me.
