I go in on Tuesday for my first fill, which I NEED because I have no restriction. I was wondering if I can request a larger amount for my first fill since I want restriction. I've read that it takes some people til their second or third fill to feel restriction.. and I don't want that to happen. Thanks!

I was banded Feb 20, and at my one week check up I was doing so well they said I could advance to solids as long as it was chewed up to the consistency of applesauce. So I eat chicken, potatoes.. easily chewed foods. Nothing has given me any trouble.. I can eat about a cup or so of food at a time. Is this normal? I thought I was suppose to have trouble with solids, and not be able to eat much. Is it possible my band is messed up or is it just b/c there isn't much or anything in my band. Thanks!

Any recent Self Payers in Texas out there?

I had to go to the TLC clinic to have a "course" on lapband.. just going over some Q&A. The did a physical, EKG, blood work, urinalysis, and I met with their dietician. Then they sent me to meet my surgeron. He had me on liquids for one weeks, but I was able to have one Southbeach-ish meal a day. I didn't have alot I had to do b/c I am not extremely overweight, I'm young, and I have no health problems/risks. I think there are support groups and seminars, but I've got a 10 month old and going to things like that are out of the question for me. Hope this helps. -
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Hollie, I'm a 24 yr old stay at home wife and mother to a 10 month old. I was banded on Feb. 20, 2009 by Dr. Manuel Castro from Dallas Texas. I am in Eustace, TX... east of Dallas. So far so good, I'm still sore at my big incision, and completely hungry from all liquids... but it's all WORTH IT!!

Well I go to my first follow up visit today, so we'll see how much I've lost so far. As far as healing goes.. all of my smaller incisions are okay but the larger one still hurts some. I'm STARVING!! I can't wait to get to eat mushies next week. I opted out on meetings, I have a 10 month old who goes every where with me. How long did it take for your big incision to stop hurting?

Hi, I was banded Feb 20, and I used Dr. Manuel Castro. I went through the TLC Edge clinic in Dallas.. it was 9,990 and they took care credit. I don't know if this will help, but Im about an hour and a half from the clinics so when I called them they got all of my appointments done in one day. I spent all day that Friday doing exams and meeting with my surgeon. I have a 10 month old and I just cannot make that many trips to a dr's office. They had me scheduled for surgery the following Friday and all is well so far. I know its a good way from Houston but maybe if they could schedule all of your appt's in the same day it wouldn't be so bad.
