I'm considering dr. Spivak for my lapband surgery. My BMI is 32 and I would like to get to a healthy BMI. I have recently lost 27 pounds with diet, exercise and and diet pills under a doctors care. I have been doing research concering the band for some years and I feel that the Band would be right tool for me. I have no health issues; other than just being fat. Looking great is not about being a size 4, it's really about how you feel. Therefore, I do not feel healthy being the size that I am. I do not feel good in my clothes and I'm ready to do something about it. I'm really nervous about being put under. The only surgery that I have had was a c-section wich was done with local sedation. Does anyone else fear being put under or other complications?

Horrible!!!!!! After I left I spke with some that works in the insurance department and she said that there is no way that Blue Cross Blue Shield trs active care would approve me because 233 is my highest!! I"m going to save my money and go to dr. Ortiz in Mexico. He is awesome!! He wrote the book lapband for life.

Good for you!!:clap2: Did the doctor take carre of the polyps? Are you doing a liquid diet? When is your first fill? What was your BMI for the past five years. Hello All, I have an appointment in Houston on Nov. 19th for a Diagnostic Appointment. The center that helps with the approval process is True Results. They explained that they will help you get everything the insurance:help: company will want. That includes the 6 month supervised diet. My BMI is about 39.9. I think it has to be 40 or higher without co-morbities. I do not have any!! I have had acid reflux in the past; but that does not count. The center lets you choose from four doctors. Dr. Speigel and Spivak are two. Another one is Dr. Frank Felts. (Not familiar with him). Anyway I have done several research on the band and read the book lapband for life three times. I really feel that I'm ready for this. I'm afraid of the surgery. I had a c-section 8-months ago. There were no complications but I'm wondering if this would affect me having the surgery. I would like to thank everyone on this local board for posting comments and info. This has really been a blessing!! Hi, I wanted to tell that one of the teachers had polyps in her colon. She had them removed and she is doing great. It wasn't a big deal. The main thing was to have them removed before they tearned into something else. I have always been over weight ;but not always morbidly obesse. I'm going through True Results in Houston. There are four doctors with this company. I'm worried about the 5 year history. My BMI is forty althoug many people say I don't look it. Back in 03 my BMI was only thirty. It started to go up over the years. I had a baby on Valentines Day FEB 14th. 2007. I had a c-section so I hope that does not effect me. I was 205 pounds before the baby. The funny part is that I'm only 5'3 at 237 pounds. In the past I would tell people that I was 5'5. I think my doctors may have 5'5 on the records. My grandfather argued with me and told me that I was shorter than 5'5. I was short but didn't realize it because I always wore shoes with high heels. He measured my height with his tape measure and I was in shock. I cried! I cant' believe I weigh that much at 5'3. I do not have any co-morbities but I have struggled with weight all of my life. I have researched and read the book Lapband for Life three times. I'm ready to use this as a tool and start a new beginning. I'm currently sperated from my husband and it's still going downhill. I think it's for the best. Anyway I'm ready!!! The center True Results does everything for you. They will also do the 6 month supervised diet. Questions 1. Do you think that I have a good chance of being approved? 2. Do you have to be morbid obesse for all five years? 3. Do you think having the baby will affect me? I forgot to tell you that my beautiful son Dillon was a suprise. I was actually trying to loose weight with taking the b-12 shot and diet pills. They were putting something in the shot; some fertility stuff to help you loose inches. I got pregnant fast. I don't regret it I love my son very much! 4. How long did the process take? 5. I would love for it to be a new beginning. Do you go to the same doctor to do fills? If approved I'm hoping that I won't have to go to far

Is the financing in house through the doctor Joy

I am having trouble with financing. My insurance will not cover it. Does any one no of finance companies who will work with you. I have no one to co-sign and my credit score is not great. It's around 610 which is pretty low. I need help guys any suggestions. Has anyone gone to the wish center? I think they do their own financing.

I am considering Dr. Oritz for my lapband surgery in Mexico. I'm really excited. I'm having trouble with financing and my insurance will not approve me. I have money saved but it is not enough just yet. Unforunately I can not afford Dr. Speigel which may be a good thing because of all the changes. I workout consistently and I am knowledgeable of nutrtion and healthy eating. I must admit that I have a problem overeating when I'm stressed but I'm learning to control that. I have heard great things abour Dr. Ariel Ortiz. I can not find a co- signer. Can anyone give me feedbck on financing companys that work with you. Also who are the best doctors to get fills from in the Beaumont, Port Neches, or Houston area. I would also like to join a support group in the area. Do we have any support groups in the area. I need HELP please respond. I bought LAP Band for Life by Dr. Ortiz it's a really good book. I ordered it from Amazon. I called Dr. Speigel and that said he use to see dr. ortiz patients but not anymore. HELP HELP HELP:confused:

I'm not sure about the beautiful young lady that passed away in vidor. However, I can tell you that this is not the first problem with the Medical center in this area. Me and my soon to be husband were looking at homes and we found a nice realator in the area. We found a house but it had major problems and we just decided to wait for a while. We did not her from her but I heard she had gastric bybass and was in the hospital. I ran into her daughter and asked her how her mom was doing and she said that she died. This wa a couple of weeks later. I have heard of other storeis similar to this. But I knew this person. Maybe the young lady had gastric bypass. I am considering surgery but I thought the lapband was safe. I know your body may react differently and that probleems could arise but I didn't think it was major. This is scary. I'm considering Dr. ortix in mexico.
