Glad to hear everything went well for yourself and Amy down in Mexico. I'm sure you will do great.

Hi everyone, I made it back home yesterday from the hospital. I am a little sore, but not bad. Have not been wanting to really eat much, very little liquids. Gas pains are worse than the actual surgery for me anyway. I've been downing Gas-X tablets since getting home.

I'm glad to hear you did so well and back home. I hope I do as well as you did. Thanks again.

Thanks BigGirlPantiez, looks like your surgery is days away also. It comes around so fast. Has anybody heard from Sherri and Amy? or Tracey?

Hey everybody my surgery is tomorrow at 7:30 a.m., wish me luck cause I'm really nervous. I have to be there at 5:30 a.m., so probably won't even sleep tonight. I thought today would never come, but here I am, with a big headache from the pre-op diet. Anyway, say a little prayer for me. I'll report back as soon as I feel up to posting after coming home. I will spend one night at hospital. Will be released on Wednesday 7/12, according to doctor.

I think it is possible, but don't take it from me, I'm not banded yet. However, I did speak with a gentleman that was banded a month ago, and he lost 65 pounds. He was on liquids for one week pre-op, and two weeks post-op. He then went to mushies for week three, and finally to solids on week four. It is possible, but I think everybody is different and lose different as well. Just my 2 cents worth.

I'm sorry to hear your in such pain. I'm not banded yet, so not much help. Have you tried calling your doctor yet? I would certainly do it tomorrow, if you can't get a hold of any one tonight. If your pain is unbearable, however, I would not hesitate to go to the ER. Best of luck.

Good luck Amy, Sherri, and Tracey. Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time. I'll be thinking about everyone and saying a prayer for you tonight. My surgery is on Tuesday and I'm starting to feel really nervous, but trying to stay preoccupied. -
Amy, I am really sorry to hear about your marriage, but life will go on. My husband walked out on me and my two kids about four years ago, and I remember thinking it was the end of my life. I cried day and night for a whole month, until I realized it was time to stop mourning and move on with my life. The road of life is a hard and long, but we learn valuable lessons along the way that makes us stronger and wiser. Allow yourself to go out with friends, family, etc. It is best to occupy your time with productive thoughts and think about making the best of your future life. Wishing you the very best.

I received a letter from my employer yesterday stating that we are getting a new ins. carrier effective 9-1-06. My current ins. is UHC and they are covering the surgery, which is scheduled for next week. I have talked to my surgeon's office and they don't accept my new insurance carrier. My concern is follow-up care. I know nothing about this new ins. carrier and whether or not they cover WLS. If I needed to have additional surgery because of erosion, slippage, etc. I can't afford to self pay. Any suggestions or comments on this? New ins. carrier is Texas True Choice, anyone know anything about it?

Great to hear that everything went well for your July5forme and also ericsmom. Both of seem to be doing fine with pain, which is what I'm worried about the most. Hi ubermom1, I just realized we have the same band date. I also have some little ones at home. A 5 and 11 yr old. My DH will take some time off to be with me and I'm hoping my older daughter will help out with her little sister.

Thanks for the replies Jack, sunsett, and Tamyrn. Everyone makes a valid and very important point. The surgery is for me and my health, and who really cares what everyone else thinks or says. My main concern is myself, DH, and kiddos. In response to Tamryn, it's a little of all of the above for my mother. She is known for spreading her children's business all over the front page of the newspaper, whether it be good or bad. Oh well, I guess I just need to ignore her and go on about my business.

:girl_hug: :girl_hug: Good luck my sheriijo and funny duddies. Just in case I don't get to say goodbye later. I wish you the best for a speedy recovery. My prayers will be with both of you.

I would also like to know what the problem was with her band. Could you please elaborate a little. Thanks -
First I want to wish all the July 5 people good luck and speedy recovery. Hope to hear from everyone soon. We'll all be waiting hear about your experiences. I have a week until my surgery, it's getting awfully close and I'm trying to keep myself preoccupied in order to keep from making myself a nervous wreck.

Hey guys, just found this thread. I'll join the band on July 11. I'm nervous as heck. Good luck to everyone having surgery in July.

My screen name is in spanish. Mar means sea and lluvia means rain, both of which can be soothing or rousing. I'm a piscis, hence the fish swimming in opposite directions.

Dr. C., I am feeling some chest tightness and have been for about a month. I had my labs done last week and the nurse told me my ECG looked fine. I am still concerned though. When I mentioned it to my PCP in May, he told me it was probably anxiety due to stress. In addition to the tightness, I feel shortness of breath and jittery and all this is when I'm a rest. No physical movement involved. Any comments or suggestions?
-
Thanks for the input everyone and also Dr. C. I will make an appt. with my PCP and go from there.

Not banded yet. I have my surgery scheduled for July 11.

Fabulous house, I'm jealous. Congratulations Trish, I'm sure you'll make lots of lasting memories here.

I'm sorry to hear about your surgery Amy, but hopefully you can have it done once you reach goal, which I know you will!!!!!! My surgery is a day after yours, so I'll keep you in my thoughts for a speedy and uneventful recovery.

any have problems with people they told about the procedure?
Marlluvia replied to MJK Media's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks everyone for your input. I love the one about the supplements :biggrin1: I guess since I'm a very private person, I really don't like to give to many explainations. However, it makes sense with the liquid diet, exercise, and cutting back, you lose weight. They don't have to neccessarily know about the band. That's just my personal choice when I say people don't have to know about it. -
Hi FunnyDuddy, I just had a question for you if you don't mind. What is the reason for you doing the tummy tuck before the band surgery? You might have already explained this in a previous thread, but I have not come across it. I would like to have the procedure done in the future sometime, but was curious about you having it done now. Thank you and have a good day.

Thanks everyone, I did notice that Spiegel is back in-network with UHC, rather interesting. I wonder what made him change his mind? With that aside, I did find a doctor in network with UHC, Dr. Alanis. My surgery is coming up next month.
