Thank you sooooo much for sharing your success story. I had a similar situation recently in that I had some abdominal swelling above my band. Not to mention only a few pounds of weight loss over the last 6 months. I have been unfilled and will get a refill in 3 weeks. Your story has really motivated me to keep pushing towards my goal to loose another 30-35lbs.

Hi Shelly, I haven't been on the site much lately. Happy Bandiversary to you as well. As for me, I have also lost 40lbs and the weight loss is creeping. The good thing though is, I haven't gained any weight. I had my last fill in January. Between Jan and June I had barely no weight loss. In June I had a complete unfill. Come to find out, my band was too tight and the pouch above the band had gotten a little bigger than what the Dr. would like. I was unfilled and given medication to help shrink my stomach back down. I will go back in 3 weeks for another fill.

Wow, that is Awesome!!!!:biggrin: I know exactly how you feel. I was wearing an 18 pre op. I went shopping, looking for a new pair of jeans for the New Years celebration. I slid on a pair of size 14 jeans with ease. The fit was fabulous. Kudos to you! -
For those who are losing hair

I'm 10 months post surgery and I have not experienced hair loss. I'm been taking biotin since the surgery. In addition my diet consists primarily of protein (tuna and chicken). I eat very few carbs (can't tolerate them). My hair is actually fuller and thicker now. -
I was banded on 2/25. I felt both excitement and apprehension. I know, however, that I'm doing the best thing for me at this point in my life. If you want a revolutionary change you have to do what you don't normally do. Can't wait until the new me takes full form. .

I'm soooooo happy to hear from you. Actually, I have lost @35 lbs as well and the weight loss seems to have completely stopped. I exercise regularly and the weight doesn't seem to be going anywhere now. I'm not getting another fill until Jan. I'm going out of the country for 2 weeks in Nov. and I don't want to be tooo tight.
I have pretty decent restriction, just no weight loss.
I understand how u feel.

thanks for talking/blogging about your success. i've been banded for 5 months. i'm happy with the weight loss but it feels like the weight is coming off at snail's pace. it's good to know that the "stall for awhile" will end at some point. again, congrats on your success. it's good to hear/read the story of others. -
Congrats on making the decision to get the band. I've been banded @ 5mths and the experience has been great. My starting weight was close to yours. I was at 238. I'm satisfied with my progress thus far. Look forward to seeing your progress.

Hi Shelley, I know I haven't posted in a while. There are so many things going on right now. My laptop died and I had to get another one. So, now I'm back online.
My 3rd fill was a disaster:thumbdown:. I was entirely too restricted. I went 2 days without being able to eat or drink ANYTHING:sad:. I was miserable. I went back to the doctor on July 1 to have the band loosened. Some of the saline was taken out and I was back to eating again.
I'm doing much better now. I'm sure I've lost more weight since June 29th. People are noticing and I'm getting lots of compliments. I'm happy with my progress. Hope to be under 200 real soon.:smile2:
I know the wedding in April will be great. I like your new avatar.
