  2. Happy 39th Birthday Cocobutta!

  3. Hey Girl...just checking in with you! It's been a while since I've been on lapaband talk! I'm doing okay, it's been 2 years now. I have stayed the same though, no more weight loss. Trying to decide to get another fill or not! I hope you are doing great! ; )

  4. Did you use Dr Shahram Salimitari???

  5. Hey!!!

Sorry to hear you had to have a complete unfill, but at least now you can control the fills and get to a good place. Too tight is never good! I haven't had a fill myself since January. I feel like I'm in a good place, but still haven't lost much more weight. Still at 40 lbs. lost. So, I recently started a power walking program and have lost 3 lbs. in 2 weeks! So excited about that! Hopefully it will get things moving again! Keep celebrating your 40 lb. weight loss and just keep on trucking baby!!!

    Best Decision Ever!

Thank you sooooo much for sharing your success story. I had a similar situation recently in that I had some abdominal swelling above my band. Not to mention only a few pounds of weight loss over the last 6 months. I have been unfilled and will get a refill in 3 weeks. Your story has really motivated me to keep pushing towards my goal to loose another 30-35lbs.
  7. Hi Shelly, I haven't been on the site much lately. Happy Bandiversary to you as well. As for me, I have also lost 40lbs and the weight loss is creeping. The good thing though is, I haven't gained any weight. I had my last fill in January. Between Jan and June I had barely no weight loss. In June I had a complete unfill. Come to find out, my band was too tight and the pouch above the band had gotten a little bigger than what the Dr. would like. I was unfilled and given medication to help shrink my stomach back down. I will go back in 3 weeks for another fill.

  8. Hey girl! Our Bandiversary is coming up very soon!!! 2/25/10! I can't believe it's been a year already! I just celebrated 40 lbs. this week. I thought I would never meet that mark! The last few months have been hard and the weight has been slowwww to come off! But I am still hopeful that it will keep moving down the scale. I have had 5 fills so far and have a total of 5 cc. I don't think I can take anymore, my band is tight enough for now. I sure hope that you are doing okay and that you have found a good spot (with the band). Love to hear from you!

  9. Hey girl! How are you doing?! I know it's been a while! Shame on me! I hope that you are doing better than last time we spoke. It seems like we were all stuck there for a while! I have lost 37 lbs. as of yesterday. That marks the halfway point for me, only 37 more to go! I am so excited! I did get a fill at the end of October and that got things moving again, although still somewhat slower weight loss than before. I am scheduled for another fill next week, so we will see how that goes. The last fill was only like 0.3cc for a total of 4.7 cc. But the little fill seemed to help. Did you go out the country? When is your next fill? Can't wait to hear how you are doing! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. I know I am sure looking forward to this new year and all it has to offer! Take care and hopefully I will talk to you soon!

  10. Wow, that is Awesome!!!! I know exactly how you feel. I was wearing an 18 pre op. I went shopping, looking for a new pair of jeans for the New Years celebration. I slid on a pair of size 14 jeans with ease. The fit was fabulous. Kudos to you!
  11. I'm 10 months post surgery and I have not experienced hair loss. I'm been taking biotin since the surgery. In addition my diet consists primarily of protein (tuna and chicken). I eat very few carbs (can't tolerate them). My hair is actually fuller and thicker now.

Journey to the new ME - 2/25/09

I was banded on 2/25. I felt both excitement and apprehension. I know, however, that I'm doing the best thing for me at this point in my life. If you want a revolutionary change you have to do what you don't normally do. Can't wait until the new me takes full form. .

    anyone NOT losing hair??

I'm 10months post op and I haven't experienced hair loss. As a matter of fact, my hair is thicker and fuller now. My weight loss has been very slow (I intentionally increased the time between fills). My diet consist of most protein (tuna and chicken). I eat very few carbs (can't tolerate them).
  14. I'm soooooo happy to hear from you. Actually, I have lost @35 lbs as well and the weight loss seems to have completely stopped. I exercise regularly and the weight doesn't seem to be going anywhere now. I'm not getting another fill until Jan. I'm going out of the country for 2 weeks in Nov. and I don't want to be tooo tight.

I have pretty decent restriction, just no weight loss.

    I understand how u feel.
