  1. I'm doing well. Getting the band was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've lost a little over 15 pounds and I already feel great. I had my first fill yesterday. I have a 10cc band and now have about 3ccs in it. I was unable to tolerate 4 ccs (although I really wanted to). I can't wait to loose more weight. But, I'm patient. I did not pick up over 100pounds overnight.

  2. Hi Brina, congrats on the weight loss so far. I too have been banded. My procedure was 2/25/09. I'm down a little over 15 lbs in the first month.

  3. Hi Shelly, I had my first fill yesterday. I have a 10cc band. 2ccs were placed during the procedure and the plan was to have 2ccs instilled yesterday. Well, with the extra 2ccs I could not swallow water and ended up puking before I left the office. About 1cc was removed. So I have about 3ccs in my band. I have had to really sloooooooooow down with eating. Right now I'm doing broccoli and cheese soup, crackers and had tuna this morning. I'm back to taking in about 1/2 cup at the time. I can take small sips of water. It took me nearly 6 hours to get one water bottle down.:bored:

As for the fill itself, it really didn't hurt much at all. There's a little sting as the needle pierces the skin. After that, I felt pressure not pain. It was over in less than 5 minutes. Not bad at all.

  4. Oh to be down to a size 12. . . I can't wait. I'm feeling sooo good being able to get into my size 16 again. I think getting the band was one of the best decisions I've made. I don't miss food. I'm like you, I can eat almost anything I want just less of it. But, the thing is, I'm satisfied with the little that I can eat. Isn't that amazing?

I'm down 15.8 lbs as of 3/25 (1 month since being banded). I'll let you know how my fill goes on Monday.

    Wishing you ALLLLLLLL the best!

  5. Oh WOW it's almost been a year for you:thumbup:Do you have any regrets. Are there any foods/food groups you can't eat? How do you do with soda?

  6. Hi Shelly, I was also banded on 2/25 and the weight loss is going great. I'm down @ 14lbs. I think I'm down a few more pounds now since it's been a couple of weeks since I've been on the scale.

I still eat mostly soft foods (soups and beans). I can also eat salad and crackers. I struggle with most everything else. I can eat other foods but only 2-3 bites of it.

I go for my first fill on 3/30. I'm excited about it but at the same time I concerned about the restriction since I already have quite a bit of restriction.

    I see you're down @17lbs. I'm happy for you. How's everything going for you?:rose:

  7. How long has it been since you were banded & how much weight have you lost? Love your avatar.

  8. Good for you, 25lbs down. I'd love to have that kind of success when I go for my first fill on 3/30. Feels good, doesn't it?

  9. I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same thing. It lasted about a week, week and a half. I'm about 3 weeks postop now. That weird feeling of my lower stomach feeling starved has stopped. I do still feel alot of activity, rumblings/grumblings in my tummy but I'm not hungry:thumbup:
  10. Hi all! I was banded 2/25/09. I'm down @14lbs and I feel great. I'm still doing primarily soft foods (creamy soups for the most part). I had a small salad for the first time this week and my stomach loved it. I feel like I can eat more food but I'm so nervous I would reverse the little bit of weight I've lost. My first fill is coming up on 3/30/09.
  11. Congrats on the weight loss. I would love to loose 40lbs in 6mths. I'm about 3weeks postop and am down 14lbs:thumbup: feels great!

  12. How is the weight loss going?

  13. I'm down 14lbs since having my band placed. I'm learning what foods work and what doesn't. I would love to eat a burger (and maybe fries too) but I don't know how my new stomach will like it. Anyways, I'm happy that I'm loosing weight. It feels really, really good. I'm exercising too and it feels great.

  14. :heart:How's everything been since your 1st fill? What can you eat and what doesn't work:bananajump:

  15. Oh wow! Can't believe we were banded the same day. I'm down 14lbs. and can wear clothes I haven't been able to get in for awhile:thumbup: How are you doing?

  16. Hi Jessica. Just stopped by to offer encouragement. I don't know if you've gotten insurance approval yet but I hope you get it. I too wondered about insurance approval. I finally got approval on Fri. 2/20 and was banded on Wed. 2/25. Wow, that was quick.

  17. Hi! Hope all is well. How are you feeling?

Banded a week and 12lbs down!

:smile:Hi all! I was banded on 2/25. The first week on clears I got 300-500 calories/day and was starving. The week on full liquids was alot better. I'm on soft foods now, eating mostly beans, soups, carnation instant breakfast some mornings, occasional cup of coffee, gatorade (for workouts), occasional crackers and 3 bottles of water/day. Since I've been on soft foods I'm no longer hungry. I'm probably getting @700 -800 calories/day. I love working out and probably workout 4-5 days/week. I have vowed not to get on the scale too freqently, so 3 days ago I was down 10lbs.
  19. Sorry to hear you're having so much gas pressure. Are you walking yet? That has helped me tremendously. I'm doing so much better today. Don't need as much pain med. Only take it at night. Going back to work tomorrow:thumbdown:.

  20. How r you doing?

  21. have you been banded yet?

  22. Glad to hear you're feeling better.

    February '09 bandsters?

I'm 3 days postop and can't tolerate anything more than clear liquids. I was able to drink apple juice yesterday, had a popsicle today. My pain level has lessened quite a bit and the gas pains are gone.
