So I have noticed a lot of posts with people eating Greek Yogurt. Can you let me know if this is the fat-free version or normal version? Based on the website I went to all I saw was the fat-free version having plain flavor only. Are you mixing this with anything else? Are they good in smoothies?

So for a 1000 calorie/day plan the RDA suggests 550g's? Even 300g's per day would seem hard to hit. So as an example, yesterday my total nutrient intake for the day was as follows:
Breakfast - Muscle Milk (Carb Conscience Formula)
220 calories / 11g Fat / 13g Carbs
lunch - Smart One frozen dinner (Weight Watchers)
140 Calories / 2.5g Fat / 11g Carbs
Dinner - chicken breast over brown rice. I made the meal in a crockpot and when I inputted all the data into thedailyplate.com it was:
339 Calories / 15g Fat / 18g Carbs
Day total-
Calories: 699
Fat: 31.5g
Carbs: 43g
So I am wondering is this seem like a good plan at this point? Is the calorie to fat to carb ratio seem fine? I am not eating breads at all at this pointand I have also not yet (but will) introduced potatoes to my diet. For those of you with a 1000 calorie plan, what is the carb amount you aim for the day?
And Jodi, thanks for the heads up on the frozen meals. I will not make those a staple of my diet....but I am a horrible cook, a male, and lazy when I get home from work so there are times that the last thing I want to do is be in the kitchen cooking. I did grab some crockpot cookbooks and those will be a good savior for me

Ok, I have been on the Protein Drinks now since 3/2/09 (date of surgery) and am now able to begin introducing more solid foods. But the thing I am running in to is the amount of carbs to aim for. I understand the Protein (+60g or more per day), I understand the calories as well. But what I have some issues with is the amount of carbs I want to have. I went to the store this afternoon and was looking at the Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones from Weight Watchers and some other name brand I cannot remember. And the one thing that jumps out at me is the amiunt of carbs all of these Entrees have. I was seeing an average of 28g-45g of carbs per meal?!?!?!? Isn't that a little over the top than I want for 1 meal?
I did find a meal from Smart Ones which had 11g of carbs:
Here is their complete list though which shows every meal and how muchs carbs per meal
But I am confused as to how much I should be aiming for. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

I was wondering if anyone knows of a website that will give me a calorie/nutrient breakdown of the foods I eat. As an example, I want to plug in the ingredients of the omelet I made today to determine the whole nutritional value of the meal.
Omelet:
2 eggs
1/2 oz of diced onions
1/2 oz of diced green/red/orange peppers
1/2 oz diced ham
1 oz cheese
Also, is this considered a mushy food? I had no issue eating and keeping this down (no pain)

I have been reading as much as I can through these forums and there is one thing that I cannot nail down....and thats the amount of food you are having throughout the day.
I was just banded on 3/2/09 and was told by my Dr. that Clear liquids for 1 week and then mushy stage for 1 week and then begin adding in solid foods.
This completely contradicts the pamphlet he gave me which is showing a massive change of what the actual intake is. As an example, here is a sample meal that was listed in the pamphlet for post-op weeks 3-5
Breakfast:
1oz Cream of Wheat / 1oz Scrambled Egg / 1oz pureed peaches
OR
1oz oatmeal / 1oz Milk or sugar free yogurt / 1oz Unsweetened applesauce
The lunch and dinner menu are similar to the above, so someone please explain where I am to get the proper amount of Protein in that type of menu 5 weeks after surgery?! Right now I am drinking 3 Protein shakes a day (Muscle Milk - 21g Protein / 220 calories), taking a Multivitamin and also drinking crystal light in between. Based on the "breakfast" menu listed above, I would be getting drastically lower nutrients than what I am currently getting 1 week after surgery? Am I missing something?
I would highly appreciate if someone could enlighten me portion sizes they were doing per stage because at this point I am highly confused since the Dr's and Nutritionist are rarely on the same page and just want to make sure I have an idea of how much "quantity per meal" I should be ingesting.
Thanks for any help you can give

I thought I would touch base with the community and let everyone know that I will be in the forums absorbing as much info as I can. I was just recently banded (3/2/09).
So far, everything is going very well. I had pain the first day but since then I have done well. Right now I am doing 3 protien shakes a day (Muscle Milk - Cookies N Cream) @ 21g per and then drinking Crystal Lite throughout the day. I have also got a chewable Vitamin I take 1x/day.
Down 17 pounds thus far (10 lbs since 3/2/09).

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I am going to tag this yogurt as a "Must Have"
