Today I have 3 more wks. to go before my surgery! I go the Dr. in 2 wks. and then 7 days later I heve my Dr. I can't hardly believe it! It has been a LONG prcess!! So far I'm doing pretty good on my pre-op diet.

I don't know if it the insurance or not but your right about the shrinkage of the liver. Anyway 3 more wks to go! I've been in this process since Aug.08 and now it's finally coming to an end!! HURRAY!!!!

Good to hear from you! Thanks for the ideas on a liquid diet. I think maybe next wk. I will put myself on one, I really liked the one with putting protein in your water. I.m having a problem getting my protein in with out going over my calorie limit. I'll be remembering you on the 25. I'll be right behind you(April 6) Take care

thetig, I was jusyt wondering , will you have to stay in the hosp. or will your Dr. let you come home after? My Dr. will let me come home after if I can handle the pain. And I will only be off work 2 wks. That's why I wanted the band and not rhe gastric or that one of the reasons.I have your date wrote down so I won't 4get, Talk to ya later

I know what you are talking about! My two daughters have both lived with my hubby and I and thier 4 kids combined and there is ALOT of emo eating. Right now my youngest daughter and her 4 yr. old is living here, so my house is NEVER quite! But we do what we have to cause we love em! -

Hey you guys, I've told,of course my hubby and my kids and at work 2 of my best buds that I know won't tell. People who have never had a problem all their lives don't understand how hard it is! It's not hard to lose it but it's hard to keep it off!! And I don't want to have to deal with other people and their opinions. This is my life and I want to take control of it! And I know from watching other people that have had surgery how everyone talks about them and for sure watches EVERY thing they put in their mouths and I do not want to be under a microscope! Thanks for the idea about gallbladder surgery, I've been trying to come up with an idea about me taking off work! -
Hey You Guys !! So glad to see someonelse is going to go thru the same thing on the same day !! I guess it's true, misery does love company! My Dr. makes his people lose 10 lbs. before he will do surgery and I'm down 5 lbs, and we have to keep it off until our surgery date. The 1st 3 days were AWFUL! The headaches , being hungry, and couldn't sleep but doing better now!

Here it is day 2 of my pre-op diet and my head hurts, I'm hungary and I lost an hour of sleep last nite but other than that I'm having a wonderful day !!!!!!!!!! :confused:

Boy are you right! I finally took some Tilynall and it left cause I'm now on day 6 and no headache! And I'm not all that hungry.

Here it is day 2 of my pre-op diet and my head hurts, I'm hungary and I lost an hour of sleep last nite but other than that I'm having a wonderful day !!!!!!!!!! :wink_smile:

thetig, got your message and yes this nice to be able to have someone to talk to and talk about what you are going thru! I live in a litte town in Arkansas, and when I say little I mean like 300 pop. We have lived here about 35 yrs. so it's home to us. Yes I have asurgery date of 04-06 so I still have a few wks, to go.
Right now I'm on my pre-op diet and I have to lose 10 lbs. by 03-31 per Drs. orders, so right now it's hard. But it'll be o.k.

Hey there, was so glad to hear from you! I woke up extra early today, counldn't sleep cause I'm HUNGERY!!!! I'm in the pre-op diet now, so I've already had my first consult with the Dr., went thru 6 months of Dr.'s supervised diet(for the insurance to pay) so they approved, and now I have a surgery date in April. I have 1 more consult with my surgion and then 6 days later i have my surgery. I have to lose 10 pds. and keep it off, to shrink my liver, so he can work easier on my band. I actually started this process back in Oct.08, so it is a long process for the ins.to pay.
Well gota go for now ,will talk more later!

Yesterday I went to the Dr. and hospital for all my lab work and tests, boy, I sure didn't know so much had to be done! All that thick,nastey stuff I had to drink!:w00t: But now that is behind me and now I can start on my new and exciteing journey! I sure could use a LB buddy about now! So if anyone one is just starting thier new life,get in touch with me. My surgery date is 04-06-09, so this is just my pre-op diet.

Hey 50 @ over gang, I went to the Dr. 2day for my consult, have to go on pre-op diet for 3 wks. and then I have my surgery on 04-06-09 ,any ideas to make this as easy as possible ? -

Hey, Lighterload, I went for my consult at the Dr. today and I have got to start my pre- op diet tomorrow. My surgery date is April 6, and like you I AM determined to do good on it. I can't eat no more than 800 or 900 cal. a day and I have to get 20 gm. of protein in a day. Lets keep in touch so we can keep each other encouraged. -
Gillingc, I am going to have my surgery 04-06-09 so I'm kinda nervous also. When are you having yours? Maybe we could lean on each other.
