  1. Has anyone experienced this after the lapband. Once I start eating sweets I cannot seem to stop. And I keep buying lower fat or healthier sweets but still can't seem to stop. I guess that is why I justify it to myself....it has oats in it etc. I've had three fills and still not much restriction if any. Feeling so frustrated with this and so disappointed in myself. I am seeing a counselor and exercising pretty regularly but nothing has changed. I need some kind of motivation...any input would be nice....thanks:scared2: rpm2010
  2. Thank you everyone.....I know better. I have some SF popsickles but no I wanted more....Just have a war with myself...I hope it ends soon. Would there be a reason as to why I would crave sweets more since the surgery? I have been thinking about the low carb diet and that would probably solve alot of this. thanks again rpm2010
  3. Thank you everyone....I don't know why this sugar thing has gotten me. I didn't seem to have the craving like I do now but I keep buying the darn stuff....I feel like a big time addict but with sugar...who would have ever thought it. I know I have to get off the stuff but sometimes I feel like I can't. Don't know why I'm being so stubborn with this is beyond me.....rpm2010
  4. I don't know what's going on with me but I can't stop bingeing the last week or so. I will start eating sweets and then can't stop until I feel half sick. It all started when I got a sinus infection and they put my on steroids and antibiotics. I didn't have this problem before. I could eat a couple of chocolate chips or something and be fine with it but now can't seem to get control of it. I do have a counselor that I will have my second visit this Friday but just wondering why. I'm off all the meds and have been off the steroids for over a week and the antibiotics the last few days. I'm exercising with a trainer and doing well but can't understand this.....any help appreciated rpm2010:cursing:
  5. I was wondering why some who have the surgery have problems eating when eating too much and I haven't had any. Granted I'm glad I haven't but just wondering. I think when I reach my fullness is when I get kind of like and ache between my shoulder blades...that's the only clue I have at the moment to when I probably have eaten enough. I haven't had that in a long time but that is what I felt after surgery when I ate too much I think? And I had a mild feeling today. I'm mostly just on soft foods and everything is going down great. Is that because I haven't reached my restriction yet? Any input is greatly appreciated:smile2: rpm2010...I have a 14 realize band
  6. Thank you so much for your reply....I was getting to wonder if anything was going into the band or something. same thing today I don't feel restricted at all. At least I know sometimes it takes longer...guess I'm just getting anxious. I did read be too retricted is far worse so glad I'm not there..but I do hope you get to feeling better soon...this sure is an experience isn't it....and everyone is so different. thanks again, rpm2010
  7. I was just wondering?? Something I said:biggrin: I had no sence of resriction this morning drinking my coffee either. I don't know just was expecting something this morning and so far nothing. Could it be I just have not enough restriction yet?? Any input?? Thanks rpm2010
  8. Hi everyone. I had my surgery on June 17 and I haven't really lost anything since...maybe five pounds, not sure. I have a fill coming up(my third) so you think they will still give me one. They get really upset that I haven't lost anymore weight even though I have been working out with a trainer and doing alot more exercise and trying to watch what I eat but not perfect. I never feel full and it drives me crazy. Any input would be greatly appreciated rpm2010
  9. Thank you everyone....That's what I thought I got the lap-band for to have restriction. But I do understand I couldn't eat foods that just go through the band either. It's been a tough one for me. I didn't realize just how much I used food for just about everything. I am educating myself with going to a counselor that specilizes in eating disorders(just started) and working out with a trainer and I do log my food in but not all the time. I think I get frustrated because I don't ever feel full and I have a real issue of getting 600-800 calories a day. Plus I get tired of the meat and a salad or veggie...the no carb thing is really hard but I have cut back alot. It's usually closer to 1000 calories. What makes it worse hubby lost really fast and did wonderful....I'm glad but don't know what's up with me. rpm2010
  10. So glad to hear everything came out good. that sounded awlful...glad your okay though rpm2010
  11. Thank You Betsy...do you have any idea how long this is going to stay in my system? It seems I get a tad better each day but a slow process rpm2010
  12. Thank you for your replies.....I did eat chicken breasts today first and then some lowcarb high protein bread that I had gotten at a health food store....even has 12 to 14 grams of fiber. I guess I will just have to wait it out and do my best.....I hope I never have to take those meds again but unfortuately I have sinus/allergy problems so I will probably have to now and then......just have to deal with them I suppose. rpm2010
  13. I had a recent sinus infection and the doctor put me on this drug and a antibiotic. I will never take this drug again. It has increased my appetite 10x and it's not worth it to take it even though I felt better for a few days. The after-effect is still with me. I had to literally throw things in the trash that I wouldn't stop eating. I had some sugary cereal from my granddaughters visit and then bought some cranberry and pecan glaced stuff to put on a salad. Big mistake. I could stop before where I can't now. I never feel that full and it's just changed everything. I hope that it gets out of my system soon. Lesson learned rpm2010:eek:
  14. Thanks Isa Bella and Tracy. I have just been binge eating compared to what I was doing. I have gained a couple of pounds so I hope this is over soon. I can't imagine Isa Bella what that must be like for you.....you have shown me what strength is and I admire you for that. I hope you have a speedy recovery. I know what you mean about continuing to go to the frig and nothing but healthy. I finsihed the sugary cereal that was for granddaughter and glazed cranberries and pecans(shouldn't have bought) and the rest of the thin pretzels I bought (don't know why)so maybe now I can stop...good luck on your journey and keep in touch. rpm2010
  15. thanks for your replies.....VLP...seems like that drug is used for alot of things. Tracy do you know how long your appetite stayed after finishing the prodnisone? I still have it(appetite) but I have an appointment with a counselor on Friday. How did you deal with it at the time? rpm2010
  16. I don't seen to get any relief from tylenol and we aren't suppose to take ibeprophen(advil) do any of you know of something else that works for headache, bodyache kind of things. rpm2010:unsure:
  17. Thanks everyone for your replies.....thank goodness because it's the only thing that works for me too....I'm so grateful for this website and all of you here.:thumbup:rpm2010
  18. Thanks Amanda....I hope everyday that it will get back to normal.....I'm hanging in there trying to keep a positive attitude. :smile:rpm2010
  19. thank you Elcee....I have been in banster hell and this is just adding more to it. I have already finished it a couple of days ago....just feeling frustrated but still trying and can't wait until the third fill...Congradulations on your success...your doing great.:thumbup:rpm2010
  20. I went for my second fill on Tuesday and I haven't noticed a thing. On top of that I'm on prednisone and antibiotics for a sinus infection so it's hard for me to feel full at all. Could it just be the meds I'm on? I sure hope so because this makes me nervous.....only good thing my sinus infection already feels better and I have alot of energy. Any input would be appreciated.... rpm2010:unsure:
  21. Thank you Betsy....maybe that's why my sweet tooth just was driving me crazy. I don't think I will weigh for awhile...usually don't anyway because it just frustates me. I have increased my water(crystal light) and fiber and that seems to help. Only two more days of these prednisone pill...thank goodness. Funny how we are all so different. My DH tastes buds have changed and he is totally into health....completely opposite from what he was before. Thanks again....rpm2010
  22. Thanks so much Marci....you give me hope. I have been really frustrated with this and not losing but I too heard after the third fill things get much better...can't wait. My DH has lost about 65 lbs and me about 20 or so but his surgery was in the end of March and mine was the 17th of June. I'll be so glad when things start moving again and these meds arent helping but I just have a couple more days of them, thank goodness. Best of luck on your journey....but it seems you are well on your way....congradulations. rpm2010:thumbup:
  23. Thanks for your replies....I told myself just focus on getting well and off the meds and see then what happens. This banster hell is just that isn't it. Best of luck to both of you and I hope everything starts working soon:smile2: rpm2010
  24. I have not been losing any weight since before my surgery but I have also been dealing with alot of allergy problems and now a sinus infection. I have felt really tired and lethargic...but have exercised some and was charting all I have ate. But the last couple of days I can't eat enough...especially sweets. I have an appointment for a fill in the morning my second...but nervous how they will react when they see I haven't lost and probably gained some back. They were not to happy with me the last weigh-in. My surgery date was June 17 of this year. On top of everything they put me on steroid pack with my antibiotic to get rid of the sinus infection which makes me so nervous and hungry....I think just getting a little stressed:eek: Any suggestions or just words of encouragement would be appreciated rpm2010
  25. That's good to know about capsules, I have to start taking a antibiotic and he just gave me a smaller size but it is a bit of a worry since I get my second fill in the morning. I take the generic liquid prozac....does that cost that much or just the name brand. Hope everything works out but I don't think I would stay off that anti-depressant very long. Take care rpm2010
