This thread is very fascinating...I have NEVER been to OH..nor do I intent to. I find LBT is very informative and helpful even to us'old timers'..haha...IT is VERY wise to never give out medical advice...I was banded in APril of 2003...in April of 2004 I had the most agonising pain..I was on a trip and wound up unconscience and in an ambulance...did not know anything for 4 days. They lost me in the 2nd ambulance when I was rushed to a city 70 mi away with bigger facilities...and NO..i did not see the white light..I wonder why actually?? haha..teasing here...BUT, my point is..it turned out to not be the band...was a pancreitus attack...which seems strange in itself because I DO NOT NOR EVER HAVE drink...seems the bile duct was closed off...the pain hit instantly and with such force that it was almost unbearable...My surgeon talked to a few other DR'S and they do not really see a corralation with the band...but..I am just posting this in case anyone else may have experienced this occurance...or..if you do have a pain that nearly knocks you off feet..remember...not everythign is the band..but it sure is a place to start wondering... I am throughly enjoying everyones posts in all the threads! Thanks deb banded APril 2003...been at goal for couple yrs give or take that dreaded 5 lbs!..Feelign like God gave me a new life!!..Go For The Dream!

Good girl!!!! It is pretty miserable to be too tight..and so stupid to stay that way like I did for 3 months for a wedding..BUT..I did get in that in that beautiful dress!!..lol..Family was worried about me though. That is not soemthing I will ever do again!!!!!!!!! -
I suffered with it for 3 months because of daughters wedding and I found this absolutely beautiful dress I wanted to fit into..I fit into it, but was miserable for 3 months. I had unfill 3 days before the weddign because I did nto want to be that miserable for her lovely wedding..that was in June...Gained 7 lbs...but have relost it just by eatign right. I feel so much better!..I will never get that tight again!..AND..it only took .25 cc out to make me feel better. Here is another point to ponder..why? after 4 1/2 yrs would i even do that?? Dr. says he will not let me do it again..lol I can breathe..I can sleep...I can eat...i can maintain at this point! Don't be so miserable..get the band lossened a bit. Seems like it only takes a lil unfill to give the relief you need. Good luck to you deb
-
I had same problems...coughing...horrible reflux..sleeping(when I slept) in a recliner...pain...had a small unfil(.25CC) and have been fine ever since! Good luck to you! deb
-
All these slipped and eroded bands sure do concern me. I am 4 1/2 yrs out and have been maintaining for over 2 yrs..give or take 5 lbs. I was ahvign severe reflux, but an unfill of only .25 CC did the trick for me. I pray you all get this worked out and I will be waiting to hear more!! God Bless! deb

Stomaphyx(Revisional Product) & Lap Band Choice
macacoza replied to pandagirl's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
wow...I have never heard of that. All I know is this..I researched the band for 6 months before making my decision. Bypass was never an option I considered. Lap band has been a life saver..literally! I was banded in April of 2003..lost 95 lbs..and been maintaining now for over 2 yrs. I wish you luck in yoru decision!.. deb -
I have the 4cc band also and I can not tolerate at 3.. or even 2.75..I am at 2.5 now and it is fine. I kept the 2.75 for 3 weeks because the weight was just falling off of me. Which of course it would, but I was tired and feelign not well...and LOTS of reflux and pain. So had the un-fill and was better almost immedieately!! Good luck to you! deb
-
That seems like a big jump to me. I have the 4 cc band also and I am at 2.50... but when i go to 2.75 I am miserable...can not lay down at nite or it all bubbles up in throat. you have to find that spot that works for you. HAve always been told by my DR. that if that is happening then I am too tight! Good luck! banded April 2003..lost 95 lbs give ot take 5..lol..maintaining for 2 yrs now..give or take 5...ugggg

I do not know how all DR's feel about an unfill for surgery..only that my DR advises all patients to have the unfill before. After my experience..any time I am havign surgery i am unfilling..hahaha..that scared me!!!!
