    OTC vitamins, suggestions

I use optisource Vitamins. They are specific for bariatric patients. I bought them at Walgreens. It's about $28 a month for them. They have an orange, citrus taste to them. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  3. I had band to RNY revision 4/1/16. I just had to have 3 month preop appointments with the nutritionist. My insurance required that. Then I had to see pulmonologist, and that was my surgeon requesting that. My insurance denied me at first. I filed an appeal and typed up a 3 pg letter explaining why I needed this done. Best decision ever! Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Evil band out in 2014!

I am 3 months post op. I'm down 45 lbs. My hair is starting to come out some, not much. I have a lot of hair! However, hair loss is temporary. I even had it with the band. I have seen many people that are much further out than me. I think they look great. Just be faithful about taking your Vitamins. I will be getting my labs done soon. The way I feel, I would think they are on point. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App I think you will do great! Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Evil band out in 2014!

I am extremely happy with my decision for revision from band to RNY. I feel so much better. No more acid reflux. I can actually eat salads and raw veggies now. I hadn't been able to in years. The surgery was no big deal, either. Minimal pain. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  8. I'm glad that I had mine done in one. The recovery wasn't bad at all. If your surgeon says it's safe, then believe him. An advantage to doing it at once is that you only have to go under anesthesia once. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  9. I had band removed and revision to RNY all in the same surgery. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Drinking after gastric bypass

Definitely get help. I to work in the medical field and I had a coworker that had RNY and shr ended up becoming an alcoholic. She ended up losing her Xray license. Definitely not something to mess around with. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  12. I am one month out today. I haven't had any problems with restrictions on my liquid intake. In fact I can get 64 oz in, in a day. I think that everyone is so different in swelling and such, that restrictions are different for everyone. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Band to bypass

This is probably TMI, but I had my revision from band to RNY on April 1. I had a gi bleed afterwards and had to get a blood transfusion. I'm doing fine now. I'm on the blended/pureed stage for eating. I'm getting about 60 grams of Protein in. Drinking Water about 40-60 oz. per day. My question is, dis any of you experience diarrhea afterwards? It's usually 2-3 times per day. Just curious if this gets any better. Thank you. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Band to bypass

Ok, I think my protein has dairy in it. I better change it. I'm wondering if that's the issue. Thank you. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Band to bypass

Thank you, my surgeon puts everyone on blood thinners too, I will be on them for 10 days post op - lovenox I believe. I will most likely having my gallbladder removed at the same time so I am not sure how long it will make the surgery and what to expect from recovery... Hope you will start feeling better... Maybe it's certain Protein or food that is not working for you? I'm wondering to. I'm going to maybe watch my dairy intake and see if that helps. It was lovenox that I was on. I had 2 doses in the hospital, then no more after that. My surgery was about 2 and a half hours, for band to RNY. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App I didn't think that the pain was to bad. If you have your gallbladder out at the same time, you might have a bit more pain. Just keep on top of your pain meds. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Band to bypass

My surgeon puts everyone on blood thinners to prevent blood clots. The day after surgery I had bloody stool, about 15 of them. The surgeon said that it was more than likely bleeding from the anastomosis site, where he did the connections. My suggestion is to make sure you get up and walk as often as you can post op. I did that, but it was just his protocol. Good luck to you on your surgery. I feel so much better having the band out. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  21. Try and write an appeal letter. My insurance denied me at first to, because I had been successful with the band. In your letter tell them about all the comorbidities that you are trying to avoid. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  22. Yes, it's a blood thinner. I had a blood transfusion, so hopefully my hemoglobin climbs back up. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  23. Surgery went great, I had it Friday. Some minor nause, but not bad. One minor set back is I had too much blood loss with the lovenox injections. My hemoglobin dropped to 7.2. I've has bloody stool. The surgeon says that they usually see this happen about once a month. Grr. Feeling better, I get to go home tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  24. I will. It's now going to be sometime this Friday. So I'm glad I don't have to wait to long. Hopefully, there won't be any problems with insurance. Good luck to you! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
