    New to this sight...

Hi Penny Lane, I am new to this sight, and it is so huge and overwhelming that I thought it best to narrow my grouping down. I was banded in July of 2008. I have had minimal success so far. I lost 35 pounds by Nov of 2008 and not a pound more since then. HOWEVER, I have not gained either so I shall not complain to loudly. I am looking for a support group, perhaps even a small team or a mentor to help me stay focused and up beat when I am hardest on myself.:wink2: I live in Southern California, with my family. I am married with 3 wonderful beautiful children. I look forward to hearing form others, and seeing what steps they have taken to find success.

  3. Fitday.com is working for me so far. I am amazed at how much food it takes some days to get to 1200 calories. BUT if I make bad choices WOW, do I shoot up easy and I am left with few calories for the end of the day. Noticing calories on food items, and keep a record of them makes me much more acountable. I have NOT gotten on a scale since my Dr backed some of the Water off, however, I am feeling so much better having food again.:tt2: Walking, walking, walking building my way up to 4 miles a day is my goal. Between those two things I am optimistic that the weight will start comming off again. As always I am glad to have a group like this to share my thoughts with and get feed back and support. Doing it a step at a time.
  4. My issue was that I was "sticking" so much I was sick on everything I ate, even Protein shakes would make me sick. I had lost about 35 pounds and then since about November, nothing. I also was suffering from a crazy amount of hunger issues. It was awful for me and add to it the fact that I was not losing any more weight added to my frustration. I got some Water backed out on Saturday and I am eating for the first time in months. I do not know "if" I was in starvation mode or not. To be honest with you I think that if I was starving I would of been losing weight too, SO, I was obviously getting down more then I thought. Thus the fitday.com to help me out. At least for now, I am not hungry and I am eating between 1000 and 1200 calories a day so we will see what is to be. Thanks for your input. I feel good knowing I am not alone on this journey.
  5. Yes, the working out is key. I have started keeping track of all I eat and do on fitday.com and since I have gotten a bit of the Water backed out of my band I am doing much better, in both energy and hunger. I am able to eat just over 1000 calories a day now and I feel so much better. SO, with any luck and my moving my butt I should see the scale starting to move again soon.:cursing:
  6. Hello to one and all! I was banded in July of 2008. I have had mild success so far. I have lost about 35 pounds. I have not lost anything since Nov. but I have not gained either so I guess I have nothing to complain about. My Dr has suggested that I join a support group and so here I am. My partner and I had our bands placed on the same day so that we could be a support to each other, but I think we need others outside of ourselves for support. I live in Southern California. I am married and have three wonderful smart busy children. I look forward to hearing tips, tricks and ideas from those that have gone before and have had success.:wink2:

    Just joined this sight...

I do believe I went out and joined the July 2008 thread. I have heard before about blogging all I eat on one of the web pages. I will have to give in and just go out to a sight and do it. I have been putting it off I must admit. I am not a big on line kind of person... ah well, everything must change, even ME.:wink2: Thank you for welcoming me.

    This Time It's Happening

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. I have just joined this sight. I joined because I have had such a hard time losing weight even after being banded in July of 2008. I wish you peace in your journey.
  9. Yes, yes, you are not the first person to say that... in my stubborn hardheadedness I have refused to heed the advice. HOWEVER, after hearing it again, this time from you I decided to talk to my DR and had a small amount backed out. I am back to the gym in the AM. Just so you know, mentally I am fully aware of the fact that there is no magic bullet, eat less work out more and the weight will come off...HOWEVER, there are days when I am feeling rather low and still dream of or wish for the magic of waking up healthy and thin. IMO you where right, but that does not make it easier to hear.
  10. Thanks for this post. I just joined this sight today and I needed this information. I also feel like I am hungry too much of the time. I am unable to eat almost anything and get "stuck" a lot, no really A LOT. I had my surgery in July of 2008, I have only lost 35 pounds and that has been a struggle. I guess I thought this "tool" would help me not be hungry and weight loss not such a struggle for me. I have not had any weight loss since Nov of 2008... BUT I have not gained either so I guess I can not complain. I am eating a whole lot less then I use to, many times way under 700 calories a day so I am frustrated beyond measure that the weight is not just poring off. I am hopeful that this web sight will help me deal with my frustration. :mad2: Today I feel rather low and if I knew then what I know now... well I do not think I would of had the surgery.:sneaky: Thanks for sharing, I hope to be out here daily getting encouragement, tips and advice.
