    August Band Crew!!!!!

I need to make sure that this sounds right...has your doctor told you that you don't need to do a pre-op diet? Mine has and the reason was because my BMI was 45..not sure if that was good or bad.

    Twentysomething Bandsters

I'm heading off to Monterrey on the 31st for banding on the 1st with Dr. Sanchez...YEAH! The only bummer is that the financials took so long to get sorted out that I can't afford to have a companion! I have over 100k award miles with Alaska and can't use a single one since the award travel during that time is sold out...DAYUM! Have any of you went through the procedure alone? I'm really nervous since I'm leaving Washington state to head all the way south to Mexico...my boyfriend keeps on saying that I'm going to come home missing an organ! =)

    August Band Crew!!!!!

Well, It seems as though everyone's hopes and dreams are coming together, I'm happy for YOU ALL...... Me, I'm just peachy...I just got my plane ticket for my surgery with Dr. Sanchez (Monterrey, MX) on the 1st and it's now setting in that I'm actually going to get this done. The only thing is that it took soo long to get all the financials taken care of that I can't afford to have anyone travel with me...my award travel is all booked up...DAYUM! So, I'm excited and bummed at the same time since I have to travel by myself! Good luck everyone!

    August Band Crew!!!!!

Hey Kiana38, I'm also on the 1st but with Dr. Sanchez in Mexico...who are you going to be banded by? Right now, I'm getting the final touches together regarding my financing and travel..by the end of the week, it will be smooth sailing! Good Luck! Courtney

    Dr. Sanchez

PeloRojo, I'm with you on the "need to know and not hold anything back" kick...it's when you hold back information that may cause someone else to make an all informed decision. I feel that my decision to change from Ortiz to Sanchez was a decision that I'm comfortable and happy with....I don't feel those second guessing feelings!

    Self-pay?

Hello. I'm a self pay via SurgeryLoans. I decided to do my banding through Dr. Sanchez with the Diamond Package for $10,150 which includes my airfare for the surgery and airfare for my next follow-up/fill. My repayments will be under $300 for 60 months.

    Dr. Sanchez

Thank you Vera for sharing...and congrats on being soo close to goal. That's really comforting to hear how he reacts when there's a problem/complications.

Lesjabe....there are a couple of Dr.s that take Mexican bandings. For the most part, the Mexican Dr. will send you a list of all US doctors that he's worked with and that will see you post-op for fills/complications. Right off the top of my head, I believe that Dr. Fox takes Mexican banding and Fill Management Northwest does as well. I"m headed into surgery on the 1st of August with Dr. Sanchez in Monterray, Mexico. Do you have a Dr. in mind yet?

    August Band Crew!!!!!

Trizzy, I think the main thing that worried me was the hospital and care that you receive if there are any complications. I've been reading all posts on LBT and there are some good and bad things about Dr. Ortiz...it was those good and bad things that made me doubt and look elsewhere. Now, with Dr. Sanchez, I've never been more at ease..even though it's more money..about $1500 more. With Dr. Sanchez, the package that I bought includes my airfare for the surgery and my next fill/follow-up. I truly believe in women intuition...so, I trusted my gut and changed!:clap2:

    Dr. Sanchez

Thank you Sharron for sharing! What package did you opt for with Sanchez? How are you feeling now.....any problems/complications?

    Dr. Sanchez

PeloRojo... How did you know that they were talking about Dr. Sanchez? I'm asking since all the references to the Dr's name were X'd out. The weird thing is that I had originally scheduled with Ortiz due to the price and word of mouth. Then, I started feeling strange about my decision and started looking else where...then FunnyDuddies introduced me to Sanchez....I've never been soo at ease with my decision as I am right now! Since you can't predict complications, I decided to go with the Diamond package which included my airfare for the surgery and follow-up! He also has connections to Dr's here in Washington state that I can go to if an emergency happens......:clap2:

    August Band Crew!!!!!

lizzlo.... That's GREAT...what made you choose Dr. Sanchez/Zapata (I believe that was his name)? Me, I had orginally scheduled with Ortiz, but decided to switch last Thursday. Courtney

    August Band Crew!!!!!

Hey Everyone, My name is Courtney and I just officially scheduled my surgery for August 1st with Dr. Sanchez in Monterray, Mexico. I had orginally scheduled with Dr. Ortiz for August 22nd, but decided to switch last week and bump up my surgery date..... I'm soo excited right now; however, I'm not looking forward to the liquid diet and giving up my Brandy & Cokes at the club. Good luck everyone!

    monthly payments

MrD. I too live in Washington...Federal Way to be exact. The advice to go to Capital One is a good decision IF you're planning on going to a dr. here in the states, they don't finance for any doctors that don't have a practice outside of the US. I applied for CapOne thinking it would be the 2%..however keep in mind that it's all based off of your credit and the lower your credit score, the higher your payments. I'm heading to Dr. Ortiz in Mexico for $8500US (includes pre-op work, etc.) and received a loan by surgeryloans at $290/month payback.

    Lap Band Costs

Hi Lisa, I've seen the phrase "DH" on multiple sites..what does that mean? Also, I'm now on my way to having my surgery done with Dr. Ortiz for $8500..I was able to find financing that would allow me to have it done out of the US.

    What kind of pets?

Dogs: I have been blessed with one HUGE Cane Corso Mastiff (Italian Mastiff that I imported from Italy) and a very cute, bat eared, Pit Bull that my boyfriend and I inherited when his brother re-enlisted back into the army. Horses: I have 6 horses...5 I lease out and I keep one, Dark Copy-Copygirl for short, for my showing-show jumping and eventing.

    Twentysomething Bandsters

What you all have said....that's me all wrapped up in a nutshell! I'm 28, 265#, no kids, wonderful man on my arm...AND I want my life back! I'm scheduled for the lapband in August with Dr. Ortiz...I think I may bump that up to July sometime this week! I think the only issue for me is that I don't want sagging skin!..I believe I may have the perfect plan to help....1. Spa treatments..horray for seaweed wraps and mud baths..2. Swimming and Water aerobics (can't feel myself sweat)...3. And this maybe the hardest...no more Crown Royals & Cokes.....:think I'm just tired of life passing me by and knowing that I'm a sexy diva, but wanting to actually look like it... I want to show my horses again..I miss my show jumping and eventing!

Hello. I'm planning on getting banded in the next couple of months, but I'm having some problems... 1. I was approved for financing, via CapitalOne, but they only finance Dr's that have USA medical licenses (found that out after I found Dr. Ortiz). So, with that, does anyone know of a doctor that has ties to a Mexican doctor and is always willing to work something out??? Prices here in the states are way too high...Ortiz is charging $8500 right now! Any advice is welcome! Courtney
