Messed Up, No Excusses, Ate Wrong Food, Moving On!
JENNIFER7375 replied to Juliewants2bthinner's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
julie do not beat yourself up. considering what you've just been through you are doing amazing. considering what you've been through you handled it like a real trooper. stress is gonna cause a lot of us to screw up from time to time. we all do it. now just be done with it. and to be honest when i have a serious craving for something i eat it. i just have a half slice of pizza instead of half the pizza. im in charge of the food now instead of it being in charge of me. and of course my prayers got to you and your family. hopefully your nephew will recover and the monsters responsible get what they deserve! -

Help please! Nightime eating out of control
JENNIFER7375 replied to Bandana's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
bandana all I can say is I'm here for you. I know that awful feeling well myself. Just know you're not alone and were here for you when you need us. I'm up all night every night so if you need someone to talk to when you feel like bingeing Id be more than happy to help. Send me a private message and we can exchange emails or phone numbers if you want. And you just hit your smallest size in years so you must not be doing too bad. Don't be so hard on yourself that you depress yourself into eating even more. -
thanks steph, getting below 200 hundred was a big motivator for me. next is getting to 175 before my birthday in 6 weeks! wish me luck

im pretty curvy, and im happy to report that the curves are staying, just shrinking in relation to the rest of me. i just make sure i do alot of exercise so my curves dont turn into sag as i shrink
-
you are definitely not alone, i do the same thing, you go up and down by a few pounds til you finally stick to the lower number. then it starts all over i do this with every few pounds i lose. its especially irritating when you know theres no way you've eating anywhere near enough to gain. and jaqui as usual you are right, it dosent really bug me as long as i dont go up a number bracket. now that im in the 180s im gonna stay here. thats of course until i start the same game in the 170's. cant wait for that to start

Did your doctor recommed this or did you just decide
JENNIFER7375 replied to karibensea's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i made the decision and did all my own research. but the PA in my doctors office was very helpful for me once i made the decision. my insurance paid for most of mine thank goodness. and our guidelines werent as strict for doctor visits. i needed 6 visits to my PCP like most other people but mine were collective visits over the last 2yrs as opposed to 6 consecutive months of visits. so any visit id discussed my weight in the previous 2 yrs counted toward my 6. the PA was very helpful in pulling my old records and filling out all my monthly visit forms -
Band plugged with mucus (sorry TMI)
JENNIFER7375 replied to RolledFondant's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i got sick a few weeks ago and had almost the same thing happen. i was reslly congested same as you are. i tried the mucinex and it helped.but id also thrown up so much i was swollen so i had to do liquids for a day or so to let my stomach rest. between the 2 things got much better for me. make sure you buy plenty of mucinex cuz the congestion from being ssick can last quite a bit longer than the time you actually fewll sick. i got sick amost 2 weeks ago and im still congested . oh and mucinex is pretty expensivw but the generics are alot cheaper than the name brand and they work every bit as well. hope you feel better soon -
How do you avoid constipation and impaction (TMI)
JENNIFER7375 replied to Totallytater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat a fiber one granola bar every day and usually chew 2 of the fiber choice pills every day. the granola bars taste really good. this combinattion seems to work for me. and im someone that very rarely had problems with constipation before my surgery but definitely need a little help now. i dont have tooo many problems wth excess gas, but i generally keep some gas-x in my purse at all times in case i need it. -
Ive noticed alot of people beating themselves up about the amount of weight they've lost so far in there weight loss jouney. I've been guilty of this myself alot lately. And some of us have already lost 40,60 and some even a 100 pounds already. I was putting away groceries yesterday. Well I was putting away a 5lb bag of sugar. Realized how heavy it was. I realized that In just a few months i'd lost the equivalent of over 7 of those bags. It made me really proud of myself. It made me realize that no this isn't happening over night but yes it is really happening. So I guess my point is as long as were trying and losing and no matter at what pace were gonna get there. That every pound lost gets me 1 step closer to where I wanna be. We all need to be proud of ourselves and what we've accomplised so far.

A bag of sugar
JENNIFER7375 replied to JENNIFER7375's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it's nice to see us patting ourselves on the backs and being proud of our accomplishments instead of beating ourselves up for not losing fast enough. ladies we all look great! -

Having Problems with Chicken help!!
JENNIFER7375 replied to trishb13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a really hard time with chicken too. I've found that I can eat it if it's Im salad. But only in small bites and alot of dressing. I've tried the crockpot thing and it's been hit or miss. People keep telling me we can eat anything if we chew and take small bites. That's something alot of us are still working on, so maybe it will get better with time. -
It took a year but I'm a onester

Congratulations! Now do something to reward yourself for all your hard work. When I hit onederland I treated myself to a pair of really great jeans. -
a little disappointed first fill only 3 cc's
JENNIFER7375 replied to blondie4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the same boat as most of you. My 1st fill was only 2ccs and my 2nd fill was only 1cc. I still don't have much restriction, especially at night. I work 3rd shift at at a job that's sedentary . So it's really hard not to eat at night out of sheer boredom. My surgeons great but will only do a fill every 4 weeks, so my next fills not until June 1st. I'm hoping that one will get me to my sweet spot. Good luck everyone. By looks of everyone stats it looks like we aren't doing too bad at all considering we don't have full restriction . -

Lap Band AP, 10cc or 14cc?
JENNIFER7375 replied to Lady Lap Band's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have the AP 10cc band. It comes down to what brand tour doctor likes and probably which company he has a supply contract with . But from most of my reading besides the AP coming in 2 sizes the differences are minimal. -
Why do you think people get so jealous?
JENNIFER7375 replied to Sarah.R's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is almost an exclusive female problem . Men and women are competitive in different ways. Men don't want other men to have better cars or bigger TVs. Women don't want other women to be thinner or prettier. Case in point there's a girl here at my job. Very pretty girl on the thin side. A huge bitch. she and I don't get along well. She's the only person at work who said anything negative to me about my surgery. At least the only one bold enough to say it to my face. Well now she's pregnant , gaining a ton of weight and let me tell you it all ain't baby. I secretly take great pleasure in knowing that post baby I'm probaby gonna be smaller than her. Not the nicest thing in the world but hey I'm only human and she is really a bitch! -
Why do you think people get so jealous?
JENNIFER7375 replied to Sarah.R's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me I've had mixed reactions. I think are friends and family that are heavy just aren't ready to make a committment that so drastically changes there relationship with food. And it's hard to deal with us now that we've made that change. And the thin ones just don't like the idea of the fat girl they look down there noses at being the same size as them. People aren't comfortable with change
