  1. I was banded on 3/9 and thought I was having a heart attack for about 4 days afterwards. Know what you mean. I also have terrible "runs" before AND after surgery and it only improved after I started eating mushy food and more protein. Wasn't supposed to do that this soon, but I can tell you it definately helped with my overall well being. I feel great now and go in this week for my 2 week post op.
  2. Well I was banded on Monday, 3/9 & here it is...day 4. Wow time does pass quickly once you are on the other side of this. I must say that I was surprised by how much the "free gas" hurts and how much my stomach muscles ache. Normally I pride myself on gritting my teeth through pain, but this one is different - for me at least. Continue my elixir pain meds along with alternating with liquid tylenol. Walking does help ease the pain. Good luck everyone - can't wait to hear your stories as well.
  3. Surgery scheduled tomorrow 3/9 at 7:30am. Just want to get going on this....only clear liquids today. I just want to be put to sleep so I'm not so hungry!!! Good luck everyone.
  4. can't see that happening...

  5. My nutrionist has allowed me to have Carnation Instant Breakfast (no sugar added) with skim milk in lieu of those protein shakes. I'm on week 2 of liquids...surgery scheduled for 3/9!
  6. Well I did call the nutrionist and she said to have 4oz of protein and 1 cup of vegetables at night for dinner. I tried that last night and felt much better. I actually wasn't getting enough calories! Go figure!!!
  7. Now that's a drag, but I'm sure you can find them somewhere. Forgive yourself for today and move forward tomorrow. I'm going to bed now so that I'm not tempted!
  8. I too have a surgery date of 3/9 and started my liquids yesterday. I find my stomach is a little upset from all liquids. Has anyone else has that problem?
  9. Buy them at Walmart...the blue box and make sure they are the sugar free ones. What type of diet did your doctor put you on?
  10. It's not so bad...I'm on day 2 of the liquid diet and I can still function!
  11. Okay, here it is...day 2 of the pre-op diet and all I can say for now is that it's not as bad as I had imagined. My doctor/nut have allowed the following: 5-6 Carnation Instant Breakfasts (no sugar kind) made with skim or non-flavored soy milk, broth, jello and popsicles. What is everyone else doing? I would be interested to hear. I have to be on this diet for 2 weeks. Surgery scheduled for 3/9.
  12. Add me to the list as well. Surgery scheduled 3/9/09...liquids start tomorrow 2/23/09. Let's roll!!
  13. Looks like we have even more in common...I'm originally from Virginia!
  14. Like many of you I have researched, read, talked and over investigated everything there is about Lapband surgery. Well, now I'm here...have a surgery date of 3/9/09...start pre-op diet on Monday and not sure whether or not I'm scared, nervous, excited, or just plain overwhelmed with it all. I cannot believe this is finally going to happen. Looking for some insight into this entire process.:tt2:
