THat's awsome. I don't think I have seen anyone else having a June 17th date. I have tried the water thing all day, it is helping alittle bit, but man. I am so use to eating when I want and snacking when my son eats and snacks. It is hard. I try to stay out of the kitchen, my husband got food duty for awhile so I don't try and pick when I get they plate for my son. I was wondering if drinking a soup broth would help or do anything? Does anyone know?

If I don't put the banana in it then it seems like the Slim Fast don't help me feel full and I want to eat. I have tried it a few times as my husband kept telling me the same thing to leave the banana out of a couple of them. Does anyone know of a lower calorie drink that fills you?

I am June 17th surgery, I was just wondering if there is anyone else having the same problem. I am on the 1000 calorie liquid diet starting the other day, I am having problems staying below the 1000 calories as I drink Slim Fast with a banana pureed in it which is 305 calories, I have to drink 4 a day to meet the protien level. So that puts me over the max I should have. Anyone have any advice?

Need Advice.. I'm Having Trouble Staying Under The 1000 Cal PreOp Diet
Mandie posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am having trouble with staying under the 1000 calorie liquid diet preop diet. I have a slimfast with a banana blended into it in the morning, lunch and dinner, but with that all said and done, each of those are 305 calories each. So if I need to do anything else for a in between snack I am going over, I have been doing saltines and toast a few times a day as I just had leg surgery and the medicine makes me naseated. Does someone have some advice on something else I can drink other then slim fast to get my protien without the same calorie count? I have been trying to look up the information, but I get lost and confused when I look it up. My surgery date is June 17th, I am not sure why I am on a liquid diet this soon when I only have 4lbs more to loose, but the dr. put me on one. I feel so bad fofr going over, but really have no choice. Does anyone have some advice? I track everything I eat on the www.realizeband.com website as I am getting the realize band and when my dr sees it I doubt if it will go over well. I need advice. -

I also go to Dr. White, My surgery is set for June 17th. She is great, if you need some extra help or whatnot her and her staff are there. They know you and use your name. Make you feel like someone. I am so excited I choose Dr. White to help me make my life change. -
I am scheduled for June 17th at Northwest Hospital with Dr. White. I am starting the liquid diet today, I know it will go well though. :tongue2:

 I am so excited, I started the process on Feb 23rd, 09', I was told my the scheduler she would call me by Monday or Tueday of this week, here it is Thur and still didn't hear nothing, I got too impatient and called her. She got paperwork from CHAMPVA, which is my insurance, saying they don't need a preapproval. I am so excited, so we set the date for the surgery for the 17th of June 09'. I am going to do the Realize Band. I think the Realize Band is a better way for me to go. I go for the preop appointment on Monday. I have already lost 5lbs of the 10lbs I need to loose. With my husband being so supportive I know I will loose the other 5lbs so easy and fast. The doctor was talking about postponing the surgery for a few more weeks because I just had leg surgery on Tue, so thankfully Dr. White called the ortho surgeon and talked to him, she didn't have to postpone it afterall. I am so happy. I was just wondering does anyone got any tips on the protien shakes/drinks? I am looking for some that are not chalky or nasty. I have seen alot of talk about them on here, but I am having trouble disifering between them. Which is a better vitamine the Flinstones chewables or the Centrum one a day chewables? I have seen alot of both of them, but still needing the advice. Mandie. :tt1::biggrin::thumbup:

That is awsome. Congrats, I am aiming for the end of April or the midst of May, my sons 3rd b-day is May 14th, so I want to be feeling ok for that. Have you done any research on shakes or drinks?

My dietician said that I need 90grams of protien a day min. But I am still learning about the whole thing and everything, I am going to meet again with the dietician again before my surgery just too make sure I can get everything straight. Congrats on your surgery, do you know when you are going to have it?

Need Advice On Champva Orthopedic Surgeon In Washington
Mandie posted a topic in Insurance & Financing
I am in one of the last stages of having my pre lapbanding. But I can't find a surgeon who accepts CHAMPVA insurance. Is there anyone in WA that has CHAMPVA that also have this problem or seen a doctor that accepts the insurance? I just need a letter stating that if I loose weight that my ankle and knee pain/problems will go away. I am open to where the doctor is, at this point we will travel for it as I have called over 100 surgeons this morning being told they all do not accept CHAMPVA. Can someone help? lol -
I have CHAMPVA insurance through my husbands VA benefits, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who also has the same insurance? I am wondering if they give alot of hassle? I meet the requirements not only for the bmi, weight and the medical part. I have the initial consul with the surgeon on Monday morning :sneaky:. Just wondering if someone can give me heads up or help with this. Amanda

My name is Amanda, I am new to this site. I am going in on Monday to my initial consult with the surgeon, I am nervous. I have been thinking about this for along time, I just got married, we have been together for 5 years, we have a 2 year old son, I think this is the right time for me to get the surgery. A new start in all aspects. I'm 27 y.o 5 6', 260lbs. I have CHAMPVA medical through my husbands VA. Is anyone familiar with them? Does anyone have them as a insurance co? Just wondering if they give a hard time or not. I qualify for it, as when we calculate my BMI it says 40.4. Just thought I would introduce myself. Anyone with helpful information please let me know. I am nervous and worried. :tt2: Amanda
