I'm just getting ready to go to my Card Club Christmas Party and I thought I'd pop in and say hello and catch up on what everyone's doing. I have been indulging the last two days at work. We had a pot luck. I started out good by having chicken wings on Tuesday, but this girl brought these Oreo ball things - OMG!! They were to die for and I had about 4 too many!! Then I had taco dip with wheat thins yesterday. I just sat by the pan and scooped away! Now I realize I can only eat so much, but I seem to be so hungry this week. Does this happen to any of you when your TOM is about to be here? Anyway, today I had little pop in your mouth sized cookies and some veggies and dip and a piece of roast beef lunch meat. I could tell that my body didn't like all the sugar it had yesterday because I slept like crap and was up at 1:30am STARVING! That never happens! Tonight I'm going to a Pot Luck. I am going to make better choices and tomorrow everything is OFF LIMITS! I will have treats on Sunday and Monday and then it's back to the grindstone. I have not lost 88+ lbs for me to gain 10 back over Christmas! Okay - so I exaggerated - maybe not 10, but a good 3 or so I'm sure! So, some of the issues you have brought up resinated with me...the thinking people will be watching me eat this weekend. I totally think that happens. I see the lap band PA on the 28th and I don't know if I'm going to ask for another .5cc's or leave it alone. I'll have to wait and see what he says. I think as your insides shrink, the band's restriction changes even though the same amount of saline is in the band. Well, I'm off - everyone have a great night!

Hello all - sorry I've been a stranger! Making gifts is so time consuming! I'll be glad when the week is over as I have all next week off from work (Dec. 23-Jan 1)! I love working for the school district! I've been delving into a bit of chocolate and kicking myself for it! I think PMS has something to do with it, too. Last time I weighed I was down almost 87 lbs. I'm in a 2X top and a 22/24 bottom. It feels pretty good. Tomorrow is pot luck at school - I am thankful I can't eat all that much. It will, however, be weird to not eat as much as I used to at an event such as this. I hope everyone is doing well. I want to come back on the weekend and catch up on everyone's news. Hugs to you all!

Jane - thanks! I'm hoping to hit 250 by Christmas first! Congrats on going skiing! That's a great physical accomplishment! I can't even go to the grocery store right now. My arthritis in my knees is so bad...I get shots of cortisone in them every two months - exactly every two months because that's the closest he'll let me have it - so this coming Wednesday I'll get relief for about 3 weeks and then it will go downhill again from there. I'm scrapbooking today - things people have hired me to make for Christmas gifts. Have a great Sunday everyone!

    Say It Loud....

April 2006 I was 341 June 21st I was 337 July 5th I was 322.5 Today I am 258.4! I have lost 82.6 lbs!!! I used to wear a 4 X top and 26/28 pants (both filled quite a lot). I am now in 2X tops and 24 pants that zip up like real people pants and 18/20 (2X) in the pull up elastic waist kind. I still need my CPAP, but I know I'll be rid of it someday...

    Goal weight?

My first goal is to just get under 200...then to 150...after that, anything is a bonus. I just want to feel good again. I remember my size 9 Lee Riders were my favorite jeans in high school, but I'd settle for a size 12!

Why are the last 10 lbs hardest to get off?

It's like watching the pot to see it boil...it takes FOREVER!!

Checking in - feeling much better today than the past two days...had some stomach flutters at work today, but ate some saltines to make them calm down. Only 8 more lbs to go until my goal of 250 by Christmas...I really hope I can do it. I have my Christmas party for work tomorrow night. Pizza at the local bar & grill...I paid my $5, but will order a salad instead. I don't do pizza anymore...I had it once after my surgery, just the topping, and it did a number on my stomach, so I decided it wasn't worth the agony to eat it anymore. I had soda for the first time in 6 months this week...I had Sprite because I was sick. And it was SO GOOD and it didn't bother me with the carbonation. I'm not going to start drinking it regularly, though. It's a bad habit I had (Caffiene Free Diet Coke) and I don't want to get back into it again. Well, I'd better get to bed. Have a great night everyone!

Hello everyone - just a quick check in...I've been suffering from the flu since Monday night. Stayed home from work yesterday and today. A lot of self talk helped me avoid throwing up...I was so worried I was going to - it's not good for the band. I'll leave the details at that. My son woke up with it on Saturday night/Sunday morning and was home Monday and Tuesday. I had a flu shot last Wednesday, but something must have already been incubating in me. Well, I'm heading back to bed. Take care everyone and stay healthy!

Jessica - It's a hard lesson to learn, but I'm glad there was nothing wrong, per se. I'm sure everyone has a time or two that they over do it. Take it easy. Don't beat yourself up about it, and move on to the new day. Marquita - congrats on your successful journey so far. Welcome!

Hi Ruthie - For starters, I eat to the point of satisfied, not to the point of fullness...I have a shake for breakfast...if I'm hungry around 10:30 or so I have a couple pieces of string cheese, or a couple of crackers...just enough to take the growlies away. Then I have lunch at 12:30. I have the cottage cheese and peaches or soup or something like that...again, it's enough to take the hunger away. Then my family doesn't eat dinner until 6:30ish. If I make dinner, I have the protien I make and a veggie. If I'm home alone that night and DH and DS are doing something, I have a shake again...or if I run errands after work I'll have a Slim Fast Meal Bar. My band is at 8cc's. It holds 10cc's. I have it filled aggressively because I choose to. I could eat more if it had less in it. I just really try to pay attention to when I'm actually hungry vs when the clock says it's a mealtime. I don't drink as much water as I should be - it sits on my desk at work all day, but I get so busy I forget to pick it up...and as far as exercise, I have really bad knees, so I have a recumbant stationery bike that I should be riding, but I don't. I walk around the school I work at. So I suppose it would be coming off even more if I would get better at these two things. I hope that answers your questions

Hi Kari - No I haven't had my rings re-sized yet, but they spin like crazy when I'm cold or at a good body temp. I sometimes have to put both rings on one hand...I'm going to wait a bit more before I take them it because it weakens them every time you do something like that... I have VERY supportive co-workers who are commenting on my shrinking all the time...it's very encouraging to hear that on a regular basis Jessica - I don't think your dog jumping on you could have done something to your band...it's in there pretty deep. You more than likely just had something go down a bit wrong and you'll feel better tomorrow. If you're not used to eating that much at one time, that may be part of it, too. Let us know how you're feeling tomorrow

Hi Brandy! Nice to see you here! I am a Slim Fast Chocolate Royale lover...I use the powder, 1% milk, chocolate Whey protein powder and ice and zap it in my Magic Bullet blender (as seen on TV!) and it's so yummy! Have at least one, sometimes two a day. I, too, have lost more other places than my stomach. It's gone down a lot, but prevents me from being in the proper size to fit my rear correctly LOL! I'm just enjoying the baggy pants stage!! You're doing awesome, girl! I'm down almost 80 and boy, doesn't it feel good? Keep up the great work!
