Congrats Julie! I think I ate too much today, tuna salad, but I didn't have any problems...weird. I thought for sure I'd have issues, but I didn't. I hate that panicky feeling you get when you don't know what's going to happen next.

WTG Molly!! Congrats on the ticker moving again!

I med goals 1, 2, and 4, but did not get to #3 before my company came. Didn't have goals for today as the site was down - I made tuna salad earlier this morning. I had a shake when I got up and then some tuna salad before I went running errands and then I had some more a little while ago. It was SO good! Although I feel like I probably ate too much. I'm not miserable, I just thought I went past satisfied and into the "full" zone. I go back to work tomorrow, so my daily goals while at work will be: 1) Drink lots of Water 2) Get up and walk around the halls more 3) Take the treck down to the main office once a day to check my mail 4) Only have a snack if I am REALLY hungry.

Where can I get the card for after surgery?
ericsmom replied to JillN's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I got a card from my hospital/surgeon that says the name of the hospital on it and pretty much the same info that the card linked above does. My nutritionist signed it. I haven't had to use it yet, but I'm glad I have it. Every children's menu I've seen so far has been full of pasta and deep fried foods, so I usually order fish and bring home enough for one or two more meals. -
My favorite used to be Orville Smart Pop Kettle Corn - it's 97% FF...I have been a chicken and haven't tried popcorn since my surgery. I'll have to do that soon. It sounds so good!

Gotta change my behavior...HELP!

Other ideas for something to do while watching tv... Cross Stitch, Crochet, Needlepoint, scrapbook, stamp cards (you can pull up a small table or tv tray right in front of you), if you're wireless and on a laptop you can surf the web during commercials, read magazines during commercials (then you can finish articles sooner than you would a book), or read a book during commercials, too. Journal your journey, balance your checkbook, I could go on and on. Good luck to you! -
I have been trying to eat to the point of satisfaction, and not trying to get to "full" if that makes sense. My stomach will growl if I'm hungry. I'll drink some water, and if it continues I eat something. I also try and wait the 20 minutes to see if I am in fact "full" or "satisfied". I have found that my head hunger has subsided quite a bit.

Second update for Friday Goals I rode my bike for 30 minutes and I met my 60 grams of Protein for the day. Goals for Saturday: 1) Mid-week weigh allowed 2) Drink water 3) Ride bike for at least 30 minutes before company comes for the day 4) Choose something sensible for dinner when ordering with company

I'm having 2 friends over tomorrow to stamp cards all day and into the evening. One of the friends is doing Slim Fast with her hubby - they say they have jumped on my band wagon. So she'll use my Magic Bullet tomorrow to make a shake. Not sure what we'll do for dinner - maybe order some Chinese - I haven't had any of that since my surgery and a little bit sounds good. We'll see.

Beth - sorry to hear you had a rough day I had a "fat" day - I'm feeling rather bloated as it is almost that TOM again... I get it more frequently as a side effect from having cortisone so often. TMI? Anyway - I drank 3 shakes today - 48+ oz of water, rode my bike for 30 min, ate string cheese and a banana. Just not hungry today. I hope you have a better day tomorrow!

My goal for Christmas is to be comfortably in my 2X's...I'm just getting into my 3X's now. I have a big wardrobe waiting for me to wear!!

My family knows, my close friends know, and about 6 people at work know. I have had the summer off and go back to work on Monday - I work at a middle school as a secretary for a principal. I don't look anything like I did when I left at the end of June, so I'm sure I'll get comments and maybe questions. I am usually one that doesn't keep much to myself. I have a co-worker that had the band three months before me and everyone pretty much knows about him. I'm not ashamed and know I made the right decision. This band is saving my life and I'm pretty sure I'll be turning into some sort of cheerleader for the band in the future

Welcome to LBT, Ann! Sounds like you've been through quite an ordeal. As much as we hear about all the successful experiences with getting the band, we have to remember it doesn't go so smoothly for all. It sounds like you're on the right track again, though. I've heard it said many times here - listen to your body...when you're truly hungry, eat something, and if you're not, don't. Make sure to get your protein and drink lots of water. Sounds like you're on the right track with your exercising. There is a great Food thread here that you can get a lot of great ideas for meals. And if you need support, you're in the right place Good luck to you

The day I had my fill I really noticed it about 1/2 hour later. I had 3/4 of a protien shake and was feeling quite full and awful for a while that evening. A week later I feel it, and I can definitely only eat 1/2 cup or so at a time. I had a small chicken breast and 3 broccoli flowerettes for dinner and I couldn't finish the chicken. If you're hungry, then eat...just not a lot. I usually let my stomach growl for at least 20 minutes to make sure it's hunger instead of just noises as the food passes through the stoma. That could be what's going on with you. I think I read somewhere on here that you can hear your stomach as it's passing through sometimes.
-
Great idea! My challenge for myself for tomorrow (Friday) is to 1) Ride my recumbant bike for 30-45 minutes 2) Drink my Water 3) Meet my 60g of Protein requirement 4) Do not get on the scale

I'm definitely interested, too! Please keep us posted.
