Congrats on the loss, Beth! MySherriJo - Sounds like you had a blast today - and yes, what you did would count as exercise. It takes a lot to maneuver one of those things!

Ericsmom - H 337/ S 322.5/ C 289 CBMI 49.6 (-48 lbs total, -7.4 this week!!!!) I thought I had skipped a week, but I didn't!! Boy, what a difference a fill makes!!

Well, I drank more water today than yesterday, but not nearly as much as I would have liked. I've been trying to catch up tonight.
-
I haven't been on my bike in three days! I know that's bad. I'm proud of you for going on your Gazelle, Beth. I used to have one of those  They are a great machine Planning a new house sounds like a lot of fun, too!

My 2nd day of work was GREAT! Although, there is so much to do and such a short time to get it done I told the principal today that 6 hour days for the week before school starts is not enough. He's going to get some OT approved for me. There is so much to do! Got to see a couple more teachers and made plans with the principal to have lunch on Thursday at the Applebee's across from the school. He feels he owes me for the Slim Fast bars he ate from my cupboard this summer. I told him not to worry about it, but he said at least let me buy you lunch, then. Tomorrow I'll start the day entering locker numbers for the 300+ kids in my wing. Then I have about 8 transfering out student's files to mail to the schools they are going to. It feels good to be back

Yeah Beth!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Arcael - congrats on the NSV! It's great that you've been meeting with a personal traininer as well. Regarding your testing, I'm proud of you for taking them. Working on the mental aspects of your life is just as important as the physical ones. I was seeing a psychologist before I started pursuing getting the band because of an overbearing boss I had. Now I am learning that a lot of my issues that I have are related to the physical person I have become. I will continue to see her monthly to work on my depression issues. If you are indeed diagnosed with AADD, then you'll be able to learn tools to help you live with the disorder and succeed. :clap2: Good for you!

Dezadoo - don't worry, the compliments will come I know when you are feeling good and noticing in the mirror that you're starting to look different, you expect people to say something. I'm that way - In my mind I'm thinking, "H-E-L-L-O! I'm looking different here!!" Don't get discouraged. One day you'll blow them all away and it will feel great!

Well, I went back to work today - I didn't drink as much water as I'd hoped. I was so busy organizing and moving things around, I forgot! I won't have to start numbers 2 and 3 until next week when school actually is in session. I had a pudding for a snack today and my usual cottage cheese and diced peaches for lunch. Same goals for tomorrow - but drink the WATER!!

To those who have posted about NSV's today, congrats to you all! They really feel great, don't they?!

Greetings All! I made it through my first day back to work - I saw a hand full of teachers and most of the support staff. I shared my news with one teacher whom I became pretty close with last year and she was so very excited for me. I found out another teacher was supposed to have had the band surgery before we headed back to school as well. My boss knew I was having it and we had been in touch through the summer. He said I looked good Others may have noticed, but didn't say anything and I don't expect everyone to anyway. Then right before I left I saw the main secretary and she commented right away about how good I looked. I could tell she knew. I asked her if she knew what I did. She said she knew I was going to and that I obviously had done it. She said she was happy for me. She has been fighting cancer, so my wls is pretty minimal in importance and I recognize this. I'll see more people through the week. The students start next week. It was a good first day back

Yeah, Kari!! Congrats on a great NSV!! I'm so proud of you! I ate a cookie tonight - my first one since before June 20th...and it wasn't even that good. I'm glad I got it out of my system...now I can move on! I have to get to bed - I have to join the working public again tomorrow!
-
OMG! I totally did this, too! Mushrooms in the can, mac & cheese, cake, canned corn or peas, pretty much anything. Then I'd have to figure out how to hide the cans after I'd emptied them! I also used to get up in the middle of the night when we would stay at my grandparent's house and sneak into the kitchen and get Cookies out of her cookie jar - again worrying that it would look like too many were gone.

Good luck to you! Just remember that everyone is different and to just do what your doctor tells you to and listen to your body. Everything will be fine and you'll be in bandland before you know it! -
My son starts his freshman year of high school on Tuesday, Sept. 5th. However, MY first day back is tomorrow as I am a secretary for a principal at the middle school I'll have to take pics next week. Your son and his "girlfriend" are very sweet! I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Jack just helped me (without even knowing it) on another thread...I had an "ah ha" moment... One of the bandsters was asking why she could eat so much after having a fill and he pointed out from her list that she was having carbs... I posted this on that thread then: This makes sense for me today then - I ate tuna salad - noodles are carbs and therefore I wasn't filled like when I eat cottage cheese. Now I know!! I have been trying to figure out why I ate it three times today at about 1+ cups per time! I have not been having any bread, pasta, sugar, etc. and I've been fine, but today I felt like I was "bad"!! I didn't like that feeling at all. Plus I had 1/2 size oriental chicken salad from Applebee's last night and for something that used to be my absolute favorite thing, it wasn't that good! It was the first time I had eaten salad since my banding, too. Boy, you learn something new every day This board is awesome for advice So I am going to remember to continue to stay away from carbs, pasta, bread, etc. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I'll come along on your journey! This is exactly what I was thinking! I don't want to lapse into old habits! -
Not one regret! I'm with Nana - wish I would have done it sooner!

Tomorrow I go back to work after 8 weeks off for the summer! I can't believe it's finally time! It's my first summer off as I just started my job last year on August 22nd. I have a week of 6 hour days filled with preparation and then the kids start on the 5th. In addition to being a secretary for one of four principals in the middle school, I am the Records Secretary - all transfering in or out students' files have to be processed through me. There is supposed to be the year-long secretary handling the transfers during the summer, but I have reason to believe she didn't do much with them, so I'll be a busy girl! I hope I can sleep tonight!

Does anyone of the female persuasion still get the urge to eat when your TOM is coming? I haven't had that much today (2 shakes), but I made tuna salad this morning and it tasted so good and I had about a cup of it 3 different times today! I don't feel over stuffed at all, but I do feel just, well - puffy!! I'm sure it's just a temporary thing, but I sure don't feel like I've lost almost 50 lbs! I'm afraid to weigh tomorrow...
