i am a college student 21 years old and played two years of college football. i have always been big playing football but when i quit playing football my weight jumped up to 385 pounds which made me scared for my life. My parents had been telling me about this surgery for year but i was inmature and didn't want to hear about that. It wasn't till i hit a point in my life where i needed to grow up and i felt that this surgery would help me do this becasue if i didn't do something i would have been lucky to hit 30. I had the surgery last may in 2009 and i have had the band in my body for 9 months now and i have lost 130 pounds and sitting at 255. The reason why i have been so sucsessful in my journey is becasue everytime i lose weight i just want more and i do that by running every day i am up to doing 4 to 5 miles a day when i first started i couldnt walk 4 or 5 feet with out being winded. losing this weight has made my whole life eaisier and makes me enjoy the parts of life that i didn't get to as a huge person. I suggest this surgery to everyone it is by far the greatest thing i have done in my life becasue it gave me a chance to live my life!!!

Today is my 24th birthday. I currently weigh 237 and am 2 pounds away from 150 pounds down! I can not express how much my life has changed for the better! Everything in my life is easier with out the stress of my weight bringing me down. It hasn't been easy for me, I push myself harder then most. I have become OCD about being in the gym and eating right. This surgery is not for everyone, the reason it has worked for me is because I use it to help me lose weight but DON'T depend on it. You HAVE to have a sting work ethic and have the will power to push your body to limits you never thought you can do.
