  1. Hi PharmaGirl

Sure am - are you at the Avenue too?

scarrrrryyyyy . . . . . But as I look on this site - every day mind you, obsessed by the before and afters, I am feeling more and more confident. Would be great to keep in contact since we are both doing it around the same time - and place - not in the States.

Good luck with starting Optifast - I am doing it for 2 meals at the moment, but will get more strict on myself next week. I am walking walking walking though - 2 hours total today.

    Chat soon

    Lou

  2. Hi everyone xx I am being banded mid April and I am doing Optifast Breakfast and lunch and no coffee for 2 weeks before the final doctors order of the final 2 weeks before surgery, to get into the habit. Crazy lady I know but keep thinking - once its gone its gone!!!? I am practicing eating my dinner slowly and not drinking with meals - 1/4 hr before and 1/2 hr after (is this correct?) It is so so so so hard!!! Didn't realize how hard this bit would be. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions how they do it? It's such a normal thing to have drink with dinner for me, be it soda Water or (a very small wine now ). Is it just me or did anyone else have this problem? Would love some help with this. Thank you so much. Lou x

    Optifast is fast!!!

Today I went to see the doc & to do the respiratory tests - pre surgery. I got on the scales and I have lost 2kg since they weighed me last Thursday!!! What is that?? I started Optifast on monday - so as they say - it's fast :sneaky: Since I have decided to do this i have lost 4.5kg and now another 2 - thats 6.5kg (14.3 pounds) in a month! I think it's a bit in the mind as well - I have finally found some relief from my stress of being "obese" beautiful word that it is . So in my mind I am thinking this could be the last time that I have to put all this effort into losing the weight - it's not going to come back to me - I wont ever need to send a search party out for it - it's gone - never to return. pheww - sayonara !!! I am trying to get as much off as I can before my surgery - my surgery has just been booked - a bit later that I thought it would be - 24th April. More time to get cracking. :tt1: Took my fat photos last Sunday, so Im all set - thinking the fat photos may not get displayed here - I saw them and realised I have been deluding myself - I am bigger than I thought - I knew i was big - but not that big!!!! :w00t: Till next time x
  7. Thanks Shaggs  Great advice. I will practice again tonight - the rush of food going through the band sounds a bit ordinary. If I go back to a question that you posted, I think it was something like "would you do it all again?" Don't quote me :tongue_smilie: Would you? You don't have to answer - just interested to find out from someone on the other side. Have a great weekend. Lou

    Yeahhhh

Hi Debbie I have been watching your progress - I think you were one of the first photos that came up when I first joined LBT. What can I say but WOW!!! - You are doing so well. I am being banded mid April in Melbourne Australia, I can only hope that I do as well as you do. Do you have any advice that you can spare? I have started the Optifast early - so that I can get as much weight off before hand and I am walking every day. Anything else???? Thanks Lou
  11. Officially joining you all today after looking through every day for the last 2 weeks. Love all the before and after pics - some of you have done extremely well. Any hints on how to prevent the saggy skin? :tt2: I am seeing surgeon on Thursday am when they should give me date for the Lapband surgery. :cool2: I think I am excited - but nervous too, hmmm. Would love to know if you got your chance again, would you do it again? Looking forward to chatting with you all. Lou

    Another Newey :)

Thanks Jake Very reassuring. I suppose that is the least of my problems, I need to get the weight off first then I may not even be fussed by the skin, I will just be so relieved, and so much more comfortable. 46 pounds, thats 20kgs in my language  an enormous amount, although only a third of what I need to lose. Congratulations, I am sure that if I lost that much I would be jumping up and down, because I could I am planning on doing as much exercise as I can. Good luck with your journey.
