    where is my port?

My port is right at the end of the longest scar to the left of the other scars. It is weird when i am lying down it sticks out heaps and when i lie on my side it sticks out from there too.It is so obvious hopefully when i have my first fill the doc will see it straight away and not miss when he puts the needle in (biggest fear is if he has to stuff around for hours trying to fill the dam thing). It has been in the same place for the four weeks i have had this band in hasnt moved around yet hope it doesnt really. it feels so bizzare but its there for a reason right. Good luck everyone H x x x
  4. Hi all, I was banded on the 28th of april. Its been great i am loosing weight feeling fantastic it has been a 100 percent success no problems at all.Not even vomiting one vomit the day after surgery but i think thst was the pain killers. Thae only side effect i have is burping i burp all the time it is a bit annoying but hell if thats the only problem i have had so far i would do it again in a heart beat. Mind you i have yet to have a fill so that is a bit scary heard of those side effects. Oh well what has been your side effects. Good luck everyone

    hows work

Hi Everyone, I will be banded in 5 more sleeps and am excited as... bit scared i quess like everyone. My question right now is work, when i have had the surgery and i have 7days doctor certifcate off. i hope not but should i expect anymore time of due to any issues? I am a Supervisour in a bank so my job isnt too physical. How much time have you had of work due to banding any complications extra follow up after op? I know we have fills to do but you dont have them often do you? I have a great job and dont want to loose it coz im to sick to be there. Especially how the world is looking, Australia is in recession man... Have a great day, Hayley  To be banded 28th of april 2009 Weight 121kg :rolleyes2:
  9. Hi All, I will be banded on the 28th which is 8 more sleeps. I am so excited and scarred but cant wait.I live in a medium sized northam coastal town in Western Australia. The hospital i will be banded in is 1700k south at the nearest city Perth i plan to fly down the day before. My problem is i have only seen my Dr (Tony Kiereth)once for the very first consult and it was quite a breif encounter obviously i new what i wanted and he could do it,he made me lye on the table for a little poke around my tum,and thats was it,I had let him know i had the insurance for over a year just for this op and he said great you can have it in as little as two weeks AMAZING:lol:, all he gave as in information was a small booklet (which since my partner has thrown away):crying:. I havent had to "jump through hoops" like some of the fellow bandsters on here nor, have to go on a pre op diet he didnt tell me to quit smoking i am anyway after this packet lol he said his secretary would take care of everything i rang her she got me in to glenngarry hospital on the 28th and said she would send up the paper work which i still havent recieved:ohmy: i had to contact her today as my manager needed to know if i really need the time off and it was confirmed she said she sent them friday now its monday not here yet maybe tommorow:bored:wow talk about quick i hope there are some more pre op type tips in the paperwork. Its lucky i have this forum being so remote i need all the support i can get.Any ideas on how i should be eating or what i should be doing to prepare or even what i should get ready for when its done and i am home all those miles away from the hospital!! (we have one here but noone would know about lapbands shizzlle my Knizzle people):blink:I believe my doctor to be quite experienced in the surgery any body had him?i will be sitting on a two hour flight home so how soon after should i book my flight for? Any ideas tips or just your own story would be fantastic to hear:rolleyes2: Have a great day XXX:thumbup: Ps This is the second time i have posted and the first time nobody said a word to me (maybe in wrong section) hopefully someone will reply now hmmm??

I dont know what i am gonna eat after the surgery..My doctor is far away and i dont think i will be getting much support(dietitions etc) What did you eat after your surgery how did it go andis it working for you.. I need all the help i can get . Hayley:tt2:
  15. I can only talk from my experience but my boyfriend is scarred becouse he thinks if i get the lapband and loose all my weight i might leave him or men might find me more attractive and ask me out or something, i think this is just his insecuritie and me being a big fatty he has me all to himself i know he doesnt find me attractive coz he wouldnt buy the magazines with all the girls in bikinis and there tiny little butts looking out at you (my butt is about 5 of theres) but what eva i am doin this to feel better in myself and health reasons so when the time comes and i have lost my woobles we will see how it is then.. coz if i am not happy with my self i cant be happy with anything else and if he cant be happy with the new me well i can be happy alone lol... i dont think it wil come to that but he doesnt really help much now( bringing home mcdonalds thickshake etc when i have said i dont want any.. i mean what is that he knows i am over weight but he will still encourage me to eat crappy fatty food)hmmm anyway honey do what you have to do and if he doesnt like the new slim healthy happy you is it really worth it... As they say there is plenty more fish in the see.... You go girl Atomicblonde x x x
