I am scheduled for lapband placement on March 3, 2009 in Phoenix Arizona! OMG I don't think I have been this scared and excited at the same time in my entire life. I have a wonderful family that has supported me the entire way. They would not let me give up on myself, even when fear set in! I hope the next week goes by super fast, before I have time to chicken out! Please feel free to drop me a few lines of support! Thanks!

Thanks for you message to the March group. I am scheduled for my surgery on March 3, 2009. I am sitting here wondering if I am really doing the right thing by having this done. I weight 233 pounds and I am 5' 5" and have totally struggled my entire adult life with my weight. I want to change my eating habits, but I also want to know that if I go out to eat with my husband and children that I will still be able to enjoy eating just a smaller amount. I saw where you said you still eat whatever you want just in a lot smaller amounts? Any advise you could give me would sure be appreciated. I am really getting scared at this point if I am making the right decision. Thanks so much!!

Ok, I am new to all of this but please bare with me. I am so worried about getting approved for lap band through blue cross blue shield of arizona. I have documents from the past 15 years (jenny craig, weight watchers, and diet doctors that give meds) but my BMI is only 38.7 and I don't have any other medical problems. Do you think I am going to be turned down because their rules are 40 BMI or less than 40 but with other factors? I dont have any other medical problems that I know of.:mad2:
