    Dreamy cheesy crockpot chicken

The thing that frustrates me about great dishes like this is that I'm only able to get about 2 oz. down. I made a home-made soup and had to freeze most of it. I divided some of it up into 4oz portions and left that in my fridge but even they were too large a portion for me to eat! That soup sounds great; makes 4 servings using 4 split chicken breasts, but are any of you able to eat 1 serving? My body just won't let me eat more than a few tsps. and then I know it's time to stop or else.:sad0: I'm not getting enough calories. Even a 1/4 cup would be nice.

12 days post op, can i eat?

I ate pureed baby food fruit ready made in the jars around 2 weeks out. I'm 33 days out.Although I've progressed to some foods, it's only about 2oz. if even, that I can get down. Yesterday I tried a scrambled egg with a bit of muenster cheese melted on top. Although the cheese was Alpine Lace low fat, I couldn't eat it. After the 2nd tiny bite and chew, I realized it was not being received favorably. I ate bits at a time of the egg and halfway through, (strange pains), I had to get my body moving so I left the other half and walked around my apartment for about 20 minutes. I returned to finish the rest of the egg (to get the protein in of a whole egg), (by then cold); pulled off that cheese and finished the egg s l o w l y. I had to get my body moving again but was OK a few minutes later. Maybe melted chewy cheeses are hard to tolerate for a while. I really have to take time and I find it hard to adjust with such tiny amounts of food at any given time. I'm here now though and there is no turning back so I have to take it as it goes and hope that in time I'll be able to enjoy a little more variety, without fear.
  3. I am glad your mother is there for you.
  4. Hi I'm wondering how you have been. I am not too good at navigating these pages and I did write back to you but it posted on my profile page under conversations I guess. I am having great difficulty adjusting emotionally and am seeking professional help. I have meds for anxiety but don't take them for fear of becoming dependant on them and withdrawal symptoms. So I am just stuck with these overwhelming feelings of gloom and fear. I don't like to post this publicly since I don't want to discourage anyone out there considering the surgery. I'm just so sunk by all of this change and wish I could undo everything. I hope you are thriving though.

    Friends

Your right I in no way mean to exclude or offend anyone who is not on my list, I am open to friendship with anyone here who wants to earnestly communicate and share.
  6. Thanks for the link Tiff. I agree I picked up the Twinlab 1200mg chewable Calcium Citrate and put them back on the shelf for that very same reason. I'll check out that liquid stuff at Vitacost and be on the lookout for your review. I'm hoping there is no artificial sweetener in it.

  7. I have not been taking the calcium citrate supplements. They are on my list but I thought I could wait. I will try to pick some up tomorrow. Thanks all for this info. I've been taking prilosec at night, since my bouts with reflux were while lying in bed or asleep, I hope that's OK.
  8. Hey Tiff, I don't know how to find my private messages. I got there because I caught the alert pop up window. Can you tell me how to navigate to my private messages? ...and how to make friend requests please?? Thanks. -Lis-

    BTW YOU look beautiful!!!

  9. Hello, I'm a spas at navigating these forums, see below.

  10. Hey Tiff, I'm OK I hope. I wrote you a private message because I had so much to spill...Thanks for being here and for the friend request, I need friends.

  11. Hello, I'm sorry if this reply is late, my PC usage has been intermittent. I am OK. This surgery has had a profound impact on my psychological state, since there has been a profound change made in my physical body. I am struggling with this change on all levels and not with ease in many respects. I have hope that with the support of concerned people, and professional help, I will adapt and much of the discomfort I am encountering will pass. Thank you for your concern. Feel free to send me a Private Message (PM) anytime.

  12. Ah ha! So that's what that explosive watery poop was about, I had thought it was "par for the course".:bored0:

    Lentil Soup

Tomorrow I'll be 28 days out. Does anyone know if I can eat a fresh tomato? I have a crabmeat spread that would be delicious with tomato.
  15. How can I tell if I'm lactose intolerant?
  16. Thanks for this Tiff. I am really having trouble with taste, texture and smell of "Whey" Protein shakes. I will try this one in Chocolate. I hope I like it as much as you do.

  19. Thanks Norma, I'll pm you.
  20. Thanks for putting this list of important books together. I really appreciate your effort.
  21. I so appreciate your posting this. I am having a very difficult post surgery adjustment time and although I am hesitant to speak about it as I do not want to discourage anybody, I most definitely need one on one therapy and a support group as well. Can anybody here give me some suggestions of what to look for in a therapist?

    juice ok?

*I do usually dilute my fruit juice actually by adding lots of ice...like I did in the hospital. I don't know what "O-Juice" is...are you referring to Orange Juice? If so I'm interested in knowing the answer. I have not yet had OJ. I have lost approx. 17lbs. since 9/16. Pre op I took of 15 on a whey shake diet 4 weeks prior to my surgery 9/15. Therefore in 20 days I have lost approx. 17lbs. This rapid weight loss I pray is temporary as I am eager to shed the excess, this is too fast a pace for me so I welcome the calories I get from drinking fresh 100% natural fruit juices.

    juice ok?

The only thing I could tolerate post surgery was 100% apple juice. My surgeon was more than happy and told me to keep drinking that and water if it was all I could take. He also told me that unlike other weight loss surgeries, the real sugar is not an issue for the sleeve. Of course if you are not wanting those carbs and don't mind artificial sweetner then that's another story. I personally have been drinking vitamin water not the 10 cal. one. Apple, cranberry, juice and water. I am losing weight so fast that it scares me. Point is that the little bit of carbs I get from the natural fruit juice doesn't seem to be slowing down weight loss.
