I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Yes, you aren't the only one. I am so frustrated. I went back a month ago and then doctor put me on Metformin twice a day thinking that might help to jumpstart the weight loss, but the weight hasn't budged. I'm going to ask to be unfilled a bit I guess- I can't eat anything except soup and frozen yogurt, and I have to even do that slowly. I work out...and I'm still stuck. I originally lost about 45 and have now gained 12 pounds back. How can that BE? I don't EAT! Aarrgghh- my friend had the sleeve in September and she's lost 90 pounds in these 7 months. I am just so angry- a failure again... Lori

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Well, thanks for the input. I am at about 1200 calories. I'm not sure I CAN eat more. Maybe my band is too tight? I'll see what the doctor says on Monday, too...

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Hi there. Thanks for responding. I've been recording my food intake. Here was yesterday... 1/2 cup organic yogurt (8 g. protein) with a few fresh blueberries and raspberries and 1TB granola (low fat) 1 cup coffee with creamer 1 piece Melba toast (whole grain) with 1 TB natural Peanut Butter (no sugar or salt) 1/3 cup cottage sheese (lowfat) I cup Soup (tomato base with veggies and turkey) 1 bite lemon muffin (from KFC): 1 grilled strip chicken 1 serving mashed potatoes and gravy hot chocolate (sugar free) with scoop Protein powder That's it!! Am I eating incorrectly??? Here's 3/2: yogurt- full cup 2 fesh peach slices Eating Right soup (140 cal) + scoop Protein powder 5 pieces chocolate 1/2 cup green Beans with cheese 1 sugar-free pudding 1/4 cup cottage cheese with 1/4 cup salsa AND that's it for Monday! Please let me know your thoughts. I am drinking as much as I can in between eating times. I probably get about 40 ounces of Water in, but my band is tight so I have to sip carefully! I work out 3-5 times a week at a high intensity. I do Jazzercise which incorporates weights, circuit training and core training. Please help if you can! I have a doctor appt. Mon but I don't know what they can say. My band is doing what it is supposed to, I think! BTW- I was banded at 233. I got down to 198 in Jan. of 2008. I started gaining very quickly this Dec. and am now up to 216 today. How can this be happening? Is there a metabolic explanation? Thyroid? ANy help is appreciated! Lori

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Hi all. I'm up two pounds and Ijust don't understand how that can be! I am now weigh 218 and I was 217 two weeks after being banded in 2007. If I can only eat 1 cup of food, I just don't get it. Am going back to the doc on Monday. Since I found you I have totally cut out Starbucks, and have started working out (Jazzercise!). HOW CAN I BE GAINING???? I was 198 a year ago. I am just so pissed! I have to eat like a bird AND I'm gaining??? I might as well have the damn thing out. Then at least I could have fun eating too. Has anyone had this terrible of an experience? I feel like SUCH a failure. On top of it, I have nothing to wear because I gave away all of my fat clothes...aarrgghh... Thoughts? And thanks for reading!

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Hi all. I found you all last week and made a recommittment to sucess then. Of course, life gets in the way: I got sick and then both of my kids got horribly sick so I couldn't work out away from home as I promised...BUT...I did watch the calories AND I lost 4 pounds last week! I just have to eat right. I'm giving up Starbucks for Lent, but mostly to see how much a Mocha a day makes a difference! I'll bet it does. No candy, no slider foods, eating slowly and stopping when I'm full have been my focuses this week. I also need to exercise this week now that we're all in the land of the living. Thanks for being here everyone. I feel like a new girl- and I'm looking forward to getting back into my smaller pants!:hurray: To ibbanded: It is so cool that you are here BEFORE you get banded. Stay with us and you WON'T fail your band. Like my friends who had a bypass, I thought this would be easier...but we can do it if we stick together!!! :hurray:

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Help! Am I posting in the right place? I need help because I have failed my band. I was banded in 7/07 and never really lost much weight. I started at 244, was banded at 233, got down to 198 by 10/07 and that was it. Now I'm up to 217 and I want to SCREAM! I have sufficient restriction but I live on frozen yogurt, peanut MnMs, oatmeal, soy mochas from Starbucks, and cheese. I've been reading through all these pages of posts and I now see that what I've been doing is sabotaging myself. I can eat alot if I do it in stages, like some of these other bandsters described...I didn't even know that I was really eating around my band- I was just going for what went down easily. I'm so scared of making myself throw up, which has been happening quite a bit lately. It's just been easier to eat frozen yogurt than to eat a chicken breast. I just got it- it's SUPPOSED to be hard! DUH!!! So, here's what I'm doing: I joined Jazzercise, which I LOVE. I am going to eat correctly: slow down, small portions, Protein first, low fat, no white carbs, chewchewchew!, and limit myself to 15 minutes. Although I can't eat and drink at the same time, I've been drinking right after eating, and now I am going to time myself for at least 30 minuites before I take a sip. For this month, I will work out three times a week, at least, and I will record all of my food to see what else I can do to get off this run-away train! Let's help each other!
