I had a scrambled egg this morning and it went down fine and I had creamy white beans for lunch..I am going to ask hubby to go to eat boiled crabs tonight...They are on my list of soft proteins..Life is good. My shoulder barely hurt at all today..I have a tear on my bellly from tape used on drape during surgery so that is a bit of a concern but I am on antibodics and silver sufadene cream. I am doing fine:rolleyes:

I am 7 days out from surgery and my surgeron said I could start having soft foods today..I had a scrambled egg. a little later I have to call his office and tell them how I did and then I have the green light to eat other stuff on the soft diet.:eek: I have a new problem. In surgery the tape they used tore some skin off of my belly. I have redness etc. I am now on an antibotic and silver sulfadine stuff.

You experienced the swelling that I was worried about,,it didn't happen to me but that was a big concern I had:frown: I'm glad you are alright now.Today was better than yesterday with the shoulder pain..I tried southwestern soup out of a can just drained the broth out and it was a good change of taste. Slimfast is getting tiring. I hope I get to look like one of the people in the advertisements. How do you get the little scale thing some of you have?

I was really hungry for the first time tonight...I am hoping that they say i can start on soft foods on thursday. I don't know how I will do tomorrow. I guess I need to drink more coffee because that seems to curb the hunger. The gas pains were not as bad today I got some chewable anacids and they sure are easier to get down than the liquid stuff. I am still taking liquid tylenol and children's motrin every four hours but only for shoulder pain.:thumbup:

My mother suffers from constant pain and had a pain pump put in and she was a crazy woman. She couldn't toleerate the medication. so sad now she has alziemers and we don't know if she complains because of pain or just to talk

My doctor told me that the shoulder pain is referred from your diaphram being irritated. I just was band on the 12th and my shoulder is terrible. Everyone except him says it is gas but he told me differently and I notice when I drink cold things it is worse.

I"m glad ya'll are doing well. Me too except for shoulder pain I think I'll get soft foods next thursday we have to call our special nurse and discuss our progress and she tells us if we can start soft foods. I have a Mardi Gras ball to go to on Saturday and would love to eat some chicken salad ......without the bread. I was banded on the 12th so i am a youngster to ya'll:tt2:

I was banded on Feb. 12th and with the exception of shoulder pain I am doing pretty good. My belly and incisions don't hurt but did I mention my shoulder....:rose: I am not glad others had this pain but I am glad to know it is common. OK so maybe they didn't break my collar bone during surgery.:tongue2: My doctor said that the pain is referred from my diaphram and that when it is better the shoulder will be better. I notice it flares up when I drink something cold more than something warm. I went to a casino on sunday but the thought of going to the mall to buy the protein drink was too much for me.:biggrin: Hopefully tomorrow I will get there.

hello I was banded on the 12th or last Thursday and My biggest problem is severe shoulder pain..My doctor says this is from the diapham being irritated. Have any of you had this? What helped? How long did it last?
