  2. Happy 47th Birthday RussV13!

  3. I was also banded on 13 Feb 2009 and have lost 60 pounds but have been flat the amount of weight lost over the last few months; I've been at one weight with a =/- of 3 pounds. Part of my problem lately is stress eating and I'm trying hard to drink water when I'm stress and want to eat. But, this will take time and very difficult to over come. I meet with my doctor on a monthly basis and they have very encouraging. I've had two fills since my initial fill. After four months, it was added fill o make the band smaller and fours months after that was an unfill to increase the size of the band because I was having issues of nausea and others. I'm also stationary biking three times a week and up to a half hour/5 miles.
  4. I was banded on 13 Feb 2009 and have been recovering very quickly. I had lost 15 pounds pre-surgery and 20 pounds post surgery to 23 Feb 2009. I had my first post-op doctor's visit and the sutures have basically completely healed and they said I can start on soft foods. I thought I understood what soft foods are but I'm reading a lot of different opinions. I feel like I was pre-surgery and have a similar appetite. I'm watching my portions and not drinking during meals. But I did gain 2 pounds last week (but that could be a variance on when I weighted myself) but I was losing 2 pounds a day on liquids. In regards to the soft diet, I've been eating fish, mash potatoes, apple sauce, sugar free Popsicles/fudgesicles, cheese sticks, scrambled eggs, chicken/turkey breast, sloppy joes (no bread, eating like chili). I'm concentrating on eating slowly and chewing. My concern is that I'm 17 (2.5 weeks) days post-op and I feel like I'm in weeks 5-6 of the normal schedule. Am I healing fast and ready for my first adjustment? My next doctor appt is 9 March 2009.
  5. I'm in the same boat. I was banded on Friday the 13th also. I spent the night in the hospital and only had a glass of Water. I had twice dry heaves in hospital and suspect the anesthesia caused it. Since I came home on Saturday, I have had about 4oz of broth, 8 oz Protein shake, and about 24 oz of water per day. I feel full and it takes about a 1/2 hour to drink the broth or shake. My stomach is sore and I feel like I have a lump in it but is getting better. I think I still have a lot of gas in me. I've been using a heating pad and that seems to help. I've been trying to walk around every couple of hours. I had my first BM since Friday today (Monday). I was on a very low net carb (<20) diet from 23 Jan to 6 Feb. From 6 Feb to Surgery, I was on a liquid diet. I had lost 22 pounds prior to surgery. I would love and to need to hear if people are having similar issues.
