You should be entitled to COBRA benefits. I'd check on that directly with the insurance carrier. The next time he brings it up, tell him you'll still have coverage regardless of what he decides to do. Let him make the call. He'll be forced to let it go or think of thing else. You deserved to be be cherished and treasured....not threatened and abused. Keep your spirits up and good luck!

Yes, actually I've wondered the same thing. It reminds of virtual bumper stickers too. You know, the ones people put under their user names and then wonder why they get questioned about it. Some people even get a little testy b/c it's been "discussed into the ground". If you choose to display your views, expect to get responses and/or questions. How ironic indeed!

Magic Bullet...any recipe suggestions?
paladin replied to timeforchange's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
We have a Magic Bullet. A favorite is chocolate Body Fortress with a banana. YUM! -
Thanks Alicia for the 3loaves welcome. Hope to get to know you better too. I'll be sure to pass that along.

I'm with you on the Jeffy thing. My mom is in denial that his wife was pregnant b4 they got married. Not that it matters, she just won't admit it. I don't dislike Jeffy like I used to. So, does anyone know about the blonde with Smoke?

Trust me, I had my sense of humor long before this thread and I will have it long after this thread dies. Not sure what Nora has to do with your statement....maybe something I missed? :thankyou: I do take politics serious and if I didn't I wouldn't vote, wouldn't study the candidates, & wouldn't be wasting my time on this thread. It is great to hear different points of view. I have been very Enlightened. I trust you have been too. IMO humor allows people (OK, maybe SOME people) to open themselves up to other points of view. If everyone just takes their stand and refuses to share a smile or really listen to others, what's the point? Humor is healthy and will always be a part of my life....I will not apologize for that, but I do feel bad for you if you feel you can't find humor in politics. I love BUSH, yet I have laughed so many times at the stupid things he has said and done. I just love it!! I'm right there with you on the election coverage. It's in your face while your driving, on the radio, and all over the TV. It will be nice when it's over. I say bring on the "real" news. Bless your heart if you really believe in exit polls. I hope you find some happiness with the them this year.

We don't have HBO although my DW wants to get it since some of the new season premiers are coming. Sounds to me like this show exposes the truth that, like you said, politics are dirty. I don't care if your democrat or republican. I said it before on this thread, it's a matter of the lesser of 2 evils. I've heard you mention the minus votes previously. Don't think an explanation will ever come at this late date. Does a dead person's vote count as a minus? I am thankful Bush came out the winner, but the entire thing was a huge fiasco....hanging chads and everything else that went along with it. I've been hearing more about those dead voters lately. I guess that is why they are requiring the state/gov't issued ID's. Like everything else, there is a loop hole. You can request a ballot by mail and you DO NOT need an ID. I spoke directly with our local voting dept and the deadline to request a mail ballot was last week. In other words, you can still be deceased and cast your vote. This is definitely something that needs attention for the sake of all of us. GET OUT & VOTE PEOPLE!! Maybe I'll offer money for each REPUBLICAN vote.....hmmm. Wait, I may get the NSA on my tail if I do that. :thankyou:

This is going to be fun. It's great to share with a MI fan. I would like to see both teams go into that game undefeated to add a little drama. Well, A LOT of drama. It's going to be the biggest game of the year for sure. R U going to Columbus? R U ready to feel the pain? -
I definitely agree. To be honest, I don't vote straight party line. I do my research and vote for the best candidate. I have voted for many decomcrats during my voting career. Not all REPUBLICANS are in line with my values. I really did that to have a little fun. I hope it can bring a smile and diffuse some of the tension.

I am NOT joking....I worked with someone in OH that fit this description. They were first cousins and met at a family reunion. I actually worked with the wife and she loved to tell people that is where they met. They have 2 kids. Yep, they're all weird. -
Thanks Kim. I am with you on JJ. I sure hope he doesn't win the championship. Not sure how I can stand to listen to his voice during the off season. Can't believe Tony took 2 in a row. Well, I guess I can. The last part of the season is usually his best. Jr has been doing a great job too. He is my choice for the championship. I can only imagine what would be going through his head if he won. And, poor Kasey. I feel so bad for him. Luck has not been on his side. Didn't know about the Harvick thing. Thanks for filling us in. If I know Kevin, he is not done with this. There will be more action to come. Will be watching closely.

As if exit polls reflect the actual number of votes. PLEASE!! If that's the case, why don't we take a poll today and see who wins. Seems to me that this philosophy shows that democrats have a hard time accepting defeat. Let's blame it on the exit polls....surely THEY were correct. Absolutely Nora!! You are right on with your analogy. Gosh, I LOVE this. I am voting REPUBLICAN tomorrow and proud of it. I also know that FOX NEWS/O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, & other great REPUBLICANS are the best thing to happen in television/radio. They offer a balanced approach to the news rather than the liberal view we've been stuck with for many years. I, for one, enjoy hearing the truth and not just want the media decides I should know. On another note T.O.M., I sure hope your not arrested, tried, & executed as a "Enemy Combatant". Imagine how the REPUBLICANS would just take over the world. He he, can you hear me laughing? GO REPUBLICANS ~ BEAT THE DEMOCRATS!! This is for all you Kerry fans: Dear John Here is a pic of a grup of us hoo need ur hlp. A bunch of dum jarheads. sausmas.bmp

Dale is right behind Tony in my book. He's always willing to admit when he makes a mistake on the track. I really respect for him that. How about that win last Sunday? GO SMOKE!! He had an easier climb up the fence this time b/c he's lost some weight. I guess he got a personal trainer. Anyone going to the Texas race tomorrow?

Just heard this on the news....very interesting concept. The state of AZ will be voting on the possibility of a one million dollar lottery for future voters. Each person that casts a vote will be put into the lottery to win. Some are saying it's against the law b/c money is involved. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. I say the more people vote, the better. Here's the link for the entire story: http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2006Aug03/0,4670,VoterReward,00.html BTW, Carlene ~ We have not cast our vote yet, but will do so on Tues. My DW and I have both voted since we were legally eligible. That would be a great poll question for a new thread. Yup, your right again Leatha.

It still comes down to faith. Believe what you want and I will do the same. I still challenge you though to research the topic of the antichrist. I'm sure there is lots out there.

Oops, that's what I meant...the pledge not the anthem. Thank you for that correction. Like it or not, GOD is part of our government b/c it is on our money and in our pledge. I am proud when I hear our PreK son recite the pledge of allegiance. He also knows the pledge for the Christian flag and the Bible of which I'm also proud. It isn't something I spend my day thinking about. It isn't my business until it affects me. When it does, I hope that I have the chance to cast my vote to make sure my voice is heard as well as those that choose to become homosexual couples. I have no idea. Doesn't seem right although the Bible is strongly viewed through interpretation. I may read a verse and get a total different meaning than you. It's important to follow your heart and have faith that you are following the truth. -
I'm sure I will never produce enough evidence to convince you. Study it yourself and you will find these are biblical facts.

Our nation was founded on biblical principles. Like Carol said, our money says "IN GOD WE TRUST". Our national anthem says, "ONE NATION UNDER GOD". No matter how bad people want to try to disprove this fact, it doesn't change. Leatha did a good job of summing it up....it all comes down to faith. I have faith that my beliefs are true. If it turns out that their not (which I believe with my whole heart they are true), I have lost nothing. Why not let people believe what they want to believe? I believe homosexuality is wrong. I have many friends that live that lifestyle. My wife's hairdresser for 12+ yrs was gay. That still doesn't change my position. If you want to be gay, be gay. Just don't force your views on me and my family. By the same token, don't attack a person (I respect Carol for taking a stand against so many that don't agree) because they believe differently than you. -

Look out....the OHIO STATE Buckeyes are going to kick butt at 3:30 EST. Did anyone see the Penn State/Wisconsin game b4 the half? I missed it, but heard that the new clock rule created a huge ruckus. Paterno threw a fit and then a player ran into him injuring his leg. He had to have a ride back from the locker room. -
Allow me to put you mind at rest. Daniel 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. The antichrist will be a Jew by birth, a Roman by citizenship, and a Syrian by nationality. He will conquer the nations of the south, and the east, and the west. He does not conquer the north, for that is where he shall come from - Syria. Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. China and the rest of the orient will fight under the direction of the antichrist. They will destroy Babylon. They will break relations with Russia. Knowing these truths, it is very clear that Bush is not the antichrist. Relax. It will be someone else. It's a good thing though to fear the antichrist. I am thankful that I will not be on this earth during this terrible time.

Wow, that is a mouthful. It wouldn't surprise me if the NSA was monitoring your internet activity. Like I said, your walking the line and anyone else that takes that stand. Sad, really sad. Regardless of beliefs and whether we agree or not, it is my hope this thread will spark an interest in people to get out and vote and do more than just talk politics and complain about those in office. VOTE PEOPLE! It's your honor and duty as an American and a personal responsibility as a Christian (if that applies to you). I think Bill O'Reilly hit the nail on the head today with his talking points. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,227277,00.html Anger in America Friday, November 03, 2006 By Bill O'Reilly Both liberals and conservatives are furious and are pounding each other in vicious ways. The John Kerry controversy has set off a firestorm on the right. The initial voting on BillOReilly.com — our poll question asks whether Kerry intentionally meant to demean the military — shows a deep-seated resentment towards the senator for his perceived anti-military bias. On the left, the hatred of President Bush has reached hysterical proportions. Hyper-liberals hate him because of his aggressive anti-terror strategies, Iraq and his faith-based point-of-view. In the middle are Americans who are not ideologues, who simply want the best plan, the best people and the best outcome for their country. It is here where next Tuesday's election will be decided. Talking Points believes that most of these people will not vote at all. They're not going to show up. That's because many Americans are deeply conflicted and some are downright disgusted. On the one hand, we have not secured Iraq after three and a half years and hope is not a policy. It's not the fault of our military, it's the Iraqi people who are the problem. They are simply not doing enough to stop the bad guys in their midst. After the Taliban was defeated, the Afghanis didn't start killing each other, did they? But in Iraq the death squads are destroying any semblance of freedom. So what do we do? Leave Iraq to Iran and the terrorists? We might have to, but that would mean another very vicious battlefield somewhere down the road. So Americans are faced with one party that hasn't defeated the enemy in Iraq and another party that has no anti-terror strategy and is dominated by far-left zealots like Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi — people who believe the USA is the problem in the world.

Carlene ~ I did not say TOM was guilty of treason, but walking the line IMO. That's how I feel and I'm entitled to that opinion as you are to yours. Do you really think it's fair to compare Bush to Hitler. What is your stance on that comparison? I think morale is more of an issue than the lives of our soldiers when it comes to saying the Iraq war "will" fail. Our men & women deserve more than that. They are doing a job directed by our President. I would never want any of them to think for one minute they were failing at their jobs. Sure, disagree with the decision to be there if you must and the decision to stay or leave. I clearly don't understand how or why anyone would say it "will" fail. Maybe there are psychics here. Yes, I know Saddam was not on the ballot. He was in a hole with bars. I disagree with the opinion that the Iraqi's don't want us there. I've had family members serve over there and know first hand this is not true. I hear both sides every time I turn on the TV. I guess we choose what we want to believe. Who's right? Who knows? I think I am, but respect your right to choose. Do you realize Clinton did the same thing, but didn't follow through on the job? How do you justify a different opinion on the topic for Bush than you do Clinton? I would be interested to hear how you feel about Clinton going into Iraq and his transcript I attached in an earlier post. Sounds like he had the same intelligence as Bush. Mark my word, there will come a day that Bush will be known as the most respected president in our country's history.

OK, you gotta stop that. Hmm, maybe I'm getting too serious. Keep me level, will ya?
