    I'm here to help...

Good Morning Indie! This thread is so helpful - hope to pick up ideas, and most of all confirmation! I was banded one week ago tomorrow - Parma, Ohio - I have no idea why, but I feel great! I have had no pain meds - not tempting the Pain Gods! I think I may have had some good training in that 3 years ago I had total knee replacement . . . good thing there was no weapon handy or I would have been on the front page of a newspaper somewhere!!!! The only #'s I am having a little trouble with is not enough calories, and I can honestly tell you, those words have never come out of my mouth before! For the majority of my Protein I use Atkins Advantage (15 grams of protein) or EAS (17 grams). For something hot I have Cream of Wheat with a little Splenda Brown Sugar or canned Soup which I liquify in my personal blender (like the Bullet only mine came from QVC - a little cheaper). Of course, Crystal Light, etc. Tomorrow, because I feel so well, I am going to walk on the treadmill - no more than 2 miles an hour - to continue getting my system to release more gas and fluids. I pray that this all continues, I already feel so much better about myself and cannot wait for the first item of clothing that I try on that is simply too big . . . a phenomenon I have not experienced in @15 years!! I look forward to keeping in touch! Lizz
  2. Thanks for the very helpful list Nicci!! I do have a dumb question, I had not heard anything regarding possible shoulder pain - that one puzzles me! I am scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23rd . . . anxious, but anxious . . . !! There were several things on that list I had not thought of! Lizz
  3. Good luck Kirsten!! I'm right behind ya!! Lizz
  4. I am scheduled for my surgery on February 23rd - if all goes well! I guess I am afraid to take for granted this will actually happen until it really does! Does "our" group have a name yet? How about The Fab Febs? We'll all learn together! Lizz
  5. Thank you Mac!! Your journey is going so well, congrats!! and I'll bet you no longer mind being in the front row for a picture. Your photo of you with your bike, that is one of my goals! I can't wait until I can go biking and my butt cheeks don't hang down to the middle of the back tire on either side of the seat . . . ewwww, now there's a visual!! I hope to post my journey, the good, bad and ugly! Lizz
  6. Hi Everyone! One week from tomorrow, February 23rd, I am scheduled to begin the rest of my life. I am a tad nervous, but anxious to take one big step closer to a more comfortable existence. I truly believe that the decision I have made is the right one for me and seems like a better choice than having my lips sewn together . . . . . . I am a 61 year old retiree who needs to go back to work to get a day off!! I have a travel business that I devote an incredible amount of time to and I am so blessed to be able to now do what I enjoy so much! I am a people person. I find that my weight is affecting my quality, and that I will not tolerate. I hate having my picture taken, but when you are in charge of a group, people always want you in their pictures. At 61 tube tops and mini skirts are out . . . let me repeat that . . . !!! and truly all should be thankful for that little tidbit! But, it sure would be fun to go clothes shopping and not go directly to the plus sizes, the very last size on the rack, and simply pick out something that is "OK" and probably will fit. Well, I hope that you all will not mind my joining in and sharing my journey to a better me. AzLizz
