Hi, I haven't posted for a while because I am so saddened and truly depressed over my lack of success with this band. I have the VG 10 cc band and I have had 2 fills and I have absolutely no restriction I can eat 90% of what I ate before. The 15 pounds I lost, I have gained back 5 since the last fill. The doctor tells me it is my fault, I'm not working with the band. I really am trying to eat right, but when you eat too much of a good think, that's not gonna help you lose. I'm a vegetarian so eating enough proteins is essential and I work very hard on that. Of course, I'm not perfect, sometimes I do blow it, but for the most part, I'm pretty good. I even work out a few days a week and drink a ton of water. Nothing. I'm eating between 1100 - 1400 calories a day. Nothing. I'm thinking that I'm just one of those people that has to eat 800 or less to lose. I go for another fill on Thursday. I am going to desperately beg him to please give me a large fill. He does not do fluoro. If this fill doesn't do it again, then I am just going to fly to Mexico to have Dr. Joya give me a good strong fill. Is anyon else a failure like me? I am so jealous (but still happy for y'all) over your successes. I would love to have that feeling again of restriction I had for the 1st 2 weeks after surgery *sigh*

shoooootttt, happy for you, sad for me....i am not losing at all, in fact gaining! 2 fills and nooo restriction...i thought i had restriction and then poof, gone again, think it was just swelling.

I feel ya too. Delarla definitely seems the "coolest" and most honest. I replied in two other posts that all of those heigers should be banned if she is. Anyone that kept it going should get "punished" like her. Otherwise it seems like a popularity content and they can bully anyone and get anyone banned. It's a c-o-nspiricy, lol - Anyways life is too short and I have devoted more time to this then I wanted to.

In fact, this just baffled me so much that I decided to write this post taking up my VALUABLE time. Don't you guys have like kids, hobbies, outside interests? That is hysterical. If someone said something about me I might respond I might not...I really don't care - this is an Internet "persona" and we are here to get tips and support each other with the weight loss journal. Everyone has an opinion and are entitled to it. I really don't care who's right, who's wrong, why do you? Ghetto, white trash losers who spend all their free time on a computer instead of getting off their asses and doing something productive. I don't care if you drink, shoot up, whatever, we ALL have our own issues. But, if you want to talk about your experiences and support others then let's do the damn thing. I have posted before here about my problems with drugs and weight loss and anyone can talk about me cuz I PUT IT OUT THERE for support. If you put something out there, don't get mad if what you put out there comes back to you differently then you might have hoped. Really, you guys need to grow up, get a life, and help the newbies and help yourselves. Peace Out!

as a completely impartial observer of the last few days. everyone should be banned that participated in childish, mud slinging, demeaning behavior. i don't know any of these women or men but they really, really need to get a life and worry about their health and not who can come up with a fancy retort on the board. it's very disheartening, counter productive, negative and a very poor example of what this board is for - this is coming from a newbie. i no longer ever want to see another post from any of those women involved.

Please ban everyone, it's only fair. I don't know any of these ladies but if you ban Fitter, you MUST ban Photo Nut or whatever the hell her name is. She must go too. She is not innoncent and she has done nothing but fuel the fire IMHO. This isn't a popularity contest, you have rules for this board now live by them please.

Hello, Thanks for replying. Yes, sounds like you went through EXACTLY what I am now experiencing. I am working out like crazy and still can't lose any weight! I looked again for the last few weeks and I'm eating closer to 1200 calories a day. I believe my body won't lose weight until I'm about 800 cal a day or less - which is why I need MORE RESTRICTION!

That's exactly what I do. Just enough to help the food not get stuck.

Wow, that was extreme! Hmmm, how long before your gonna want a weave? I wear one sometimes and my hair is past my shoulders - You look BEAUTIFUL AND AS FIERCE AS EVER with your buzzed hair. I would luck sooo icky. I will just have to get a great weave or wear a wig if my ish starts to go. You actually can try out some really cute hair styles as your hair grows. Finger Waves, The "halle", dreads, spikes, gelled down, ummm...experiment with color. Wear cute barettes, scarfs, hats, etc.

I have been through many earthquakes living in Southern California. Last big one I remember was the one in San Fernando Valley, I was 2 hours north but felt it BIG time and had no electricity for 1 or 2 days ( a long time ago)

YES, absolutely! In fact, mine are about once a year. No one can explain it that I have asked (dr's.) I thought perhaps some of the stones slipped through the gb and were floating around making me sick at times. In fact, I was hospitalized about 3 mo's after original surgery almost 10 years ago with the SAME EXACT pains. They rushed me in and stuck this tube down my throat and sucked more out that had passed through GB. I think more are in there....

Got fill yesterday and the Dr. told me that he is concerned because when he went to give me fill in my band he only pulled out a very small amount of previous fill of 1.5 cc. When he gave me that one, he said it was bone dry. He gave me 2 cc and told me he thinks maybe I have a hole in my band that was punctured during surgery. When I go back in 4 weeks he wants to see how much is left in band from this fill so he can decide what to do next. Really hoping it's not a hole because then it will have to be replaced :eek: I had gained back 2 pounds since last time I got a fill so hopefully I will feel tighter this time.

I'm so sad. Life has so many obstacles. Sometimes I feel I just can't do it anymore. Why can't I be normal? I hate being bi-polar. I'm so up and down. Medicine makes me get fat which makes me sadder. Go for a fill tomorrow. Maybe I'll get restriction and it will make me feel better.

I'm such a failure. Everyone has lost so much more then me. I have no restriction after 1 fill and can and will eat everything I can. I'm really bummed. I have stayed away from here out of shame and depression and I finally logged on again. I can eat 80% of what I did before. I go for a fill again tomorrow though.

:mad: My fill hasn't restricted me but I'm trying to eat just bits because where I'm from we have Fiesta once a year and celebrate Old Spanish Days. It is very important to us hispanics in my community. I recently ran into one of my old friends from a fraternity my 1st love was in - Q-dogz Omega Psi Phi! My first love was soooo sweet to me and we stayed in touch for about 10 years before finally losing touch. He invited me to a Fiesta Party where all the old peeps from our group will be there - including some Kappa's, Sigma and Alpha's. It would really be nice to see some of them including one of the Delta girls I was really good friends with when I was younger. I haven't seen anyone since my mid-twenties and when I was a size 7/9. I really hope I lose a lot of weight b4 then, I don't want everyone to be like "DAAAMMMMn girl, you blew up!". LOL....we'll see. I'm gonna work out every day this week. Crossing my fingers.

Hi! I saw that they started a "twentysomething" thread and I thought that was a great idea! I would like to meet others who are around my age to learn from, chart progress, make friends, etc. I would also like to know things like when you had your surgery, where, weight loss, age related bandster issues (if any) etc. I'll start: I'm 33 (will be 34 on date of my surgery in 2 weeks) Married mother of 15 & 16 year olds. I live in Ventura County, CA. Going to Mexico to have Dr. Joya band me on the 26th! Thank you!

Hi, I have a dilemma I need help with! I am getting the Lap Band surgery on June 26th and I spoke to my patient coordinator for Dr. Joya and he said for an additional $2,000 I could have Dr. Saldana lipo out my double chin fat that I HATE while I am under for Lap Band at same time. I have a little double chin even when I am skinny, everyone in my family has that fatty deposit there. What do you guys think? Should I weight until I lose weight? Would there be a complication or may it turn out ugly if I do it now? Your opinion means a lot! Oh, I'm 5"8 and about 235 lbs the last time I checked (doing pre op diet). Thanks! Alysha

So do you think you can avoid a tummy tuck? I wonder cuz I have that same little pouch where everything else is pretty flat.
