  1. Hi, My name is Belinda, Im 23, I'm from Queensland in Australia. I went to a seminar last week about the LapBand procedure as I am very much so considering getting it done. I had a baby boy exactly 6 months ago today. I have been overweight for a few years now. I had to have a c-section which was a huge recovery for me. I have a few worries getting the procedure done as the last time I was in hospital was to have my son, and it was not a pleasant experience. Also, my partner is not that supportive as he thinks it is unnecessary surgery. I am just concerned about the recovery. Having a 6 month old,I dont want to be bed ridden for too long. I also hate the idea of infection as its taken 5 months for my c-section to heal. I really want to get it done because my confidence barely exists. I cant fit into clothes girls my age should be able to, I havent been swimming for over 12 months, and it has had an effect on my relationship. I guess I just need some reasssurance from those who have had it done, to say its all worth it in the end. I just know that this is what I need to do as it is a long-term thing, and thats my whole problem. I start things, and never finish them. Needless to say my weight is like a yoyo. I eat way too much at a time, and get hungry too often. So its obvious that this is what I need to do. Hopefully some of you out there, especially mothers, can just give me a bit of support and enthusiasm to get it done as its hard to get excited when your partner and family are very weary and not that supportive of the whole thing. Thank you and I hope to hear from some of you
