Family thinks my surgery will "ruin" Christmas
flabuless replied to mypov's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The only thing it will probably ruin is your enjoyment of eating LOTS of that yummy food but you find ways around it... instead of having heaps in the one session when everyone was around I stored food for myself later and I would visit the fridge once every hour and have another couple of bites of something special...small portions but lots of them...it was a fun xmas but I have to confess I think I ate too much...I had this rotten pain in my left shoulder for a couple of days afterward...Best Wishes & Merry Christmas -
Congrats, laurend What great news! Keep us posted!

a newbie in need of some support.....
flabuless replied to shalina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is soooo normal I had exactly the same thing...I had to keep on 'drinking' high caloric sustances every 30min or so...it was awful...needless to say I didn't stay on the clear liquid stage for long...I was naughty and moved up to the thick pumpkin soup stage!!! hehehe Finally some substance! I hope it all goes well for you. -
hi only go...yes I have had similar experiences after a fill but it goes away after a time for me... I hope it does for you too!

Social side effects for being thinner...
flabuless replied to Malice X Girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I met my x when I was 16 so I have never dated as such too...but our marriage ended last year when I discovered my x had an ongoing affair with another woman for the entire time we had been married... So now I am back on the hunt but with two children it is hard at best...I am trying my hand now at online dating cause i find it always easy to present yourself in a certain way through written word first before having to meet them. I am totally honest and totally cool about the whole dating thing if I find my man then great...if I don't...I am living a very fulfilled life regardless: loosing weight, raising my two children, and working on an exciting project... HELL I dont need a man but on the off chance that one might need me I thought I'd put myself out there! -
yippidee...I can eat popcorn but one bit at a time no large handfulls at a time...DARN! I love popcorn...but it doesn't fill me up one iota!

Initially vanity didnt play a big part I was doing it for my health/lifestyle/children...However, now after having Lapband Surgery vanity keeps me motivated...I keep working to show off...I discovered my X was cheating 2 weeks before I had the surgery so I am very keen to show him what he missed out on!!!

Hi ya...I understand totally what you are saying...I am not a star lapbander I don't follow all the rules... but I am still managing to loose weight...allbeit a bit slower than some of the others that are following the rules...but i have been going down when I did plateaux I didn't go up so for me lapband has still been a lifesaver if only to keep me from putting on more weight... Let me know of your progress!

hi and welcome drmom It certainly sounds a little worrying...I would probably think he is a bit insecure that you will loose the weight and him... see if he gets over it...if he doesn't don't let his negativity get the better of you...Who are you doing this for? If, as I hope it is, you are doing for YOU then stand firm...and if he is dragging you down deal with that bridge when you come to it. I look forward to hearing more of your progress.
