i have a 4cc band and currently have 3.7 in there...on the second fill my (inexperienced) dr trried to fill it up to the full 4 but I left the clinic and started vomiting fleme...I couldn't even hold water down...so I don't know whether I am game to go any higher...I don't feel that much restriction but as long as I walk and try not to eat between meals I am still loosing weight so I am happy at least....

Ladies - What Size Clothes to Cross Your Legs?
flabuless replied to JulieNYC's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am a size 18 (us) and i still cant cross my legs...cant wait until I can...it would be nice to be able to sit like a lady again! -
Welcom Manzanyta Great to see you here at LBT...I was banded october 05. the only time i vomited mucus was my second fill when my dr put in 4cc at once (I only have a 4cc band)...I couldn't even keep water down and felt like I was going to die...turns out it was just his inexperience...he saw me after hours to take some out which helped a lot...so far no more issues.

I don't have numbing with my doc...it is uncomfortable but not grossly unbearable...I feel tender in the port area after but I manage...I hate it when he digs around with his fingers trying to find the darn thing...that can hurt too!

Hi jiggly puff Sorry I don't have advice...dont know much about dynamic slips but I just wanted to say...I feel for you..and I hope everything sortes itself out for you...don't worry about not loosing any weight at the moment...just concentrate on YOU and getting well...you can get back to the weightloss later...Having said that...dont go overboard on the cream puffs (my nemesis)... eat healthy...go out and exercise...drink water...Have fun! I look forward to hearing of your progress.

Welcome Rubbyjade I know what you mean when you say you become lazy...I have been pretty lazy with my lapband and cheated heaps!!! no big problems yet but I guess your story is a wake up call for me to be extra careful...I dont want to end up with Esophagal Dilation...So thanks for sharing that...I am glad you have recovered well...Time to get back into it I guess...You will loose the weight in no time at all so...Good luck...Look forward to hearing of your progress.

How much can you eat.....
flabuless replied to cher3150's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I probably shouldn't tell anyone just how much I can eat with lapband...lets just say it is much more than you should...but still has me loosing weight so I am not too worried... My worst time of day is late arvo I get soooooo hungry... Sometimes have trouble finding decent things to eat so I resort to cake...ooops wasnt supposed to tell y'all that little secret! -
Hi Chubbola keep us posted on how you go with the insurance thing. Best wishes

Congrats on your lapband surgery... I agree with Alexandra...take it easy...drink lots of fluids, get used to the darn alien inside your body now!!! The rest will follow
-
Completely normal...solids are definately easier cause they can keep you feeling full for longer...but lapband isn't a magical fix you still have to watch your intake and not over do it...I have been guilty of this many times... but my advise to you is relax and take one day at a time.

The hunger bit is completely normal...I was really worried about that too...I was hungry ever 30min or so... The pain bit is also completely normal I spen hours crying on my couch for two weeks after it because of the pain in the shoulder...fortunately my mom was there to help me with the kids... My dr also told me the first 4 weeks are about healing not loosing weight so don't fret your time to go down on the scales will come... keep us posted! -
may have been asked before... re: pain
flabuless replied to sg_sg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to have similar...but it was due to eating too bigger bites...i started eating with a teaspoon...the only time I ever have it now is if i am eating in a hurry or snacking and not concentrating... -
my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner...

just banded yesterday
flabuless replied to irene1000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi irene....the shoulder pain thing is sooo normal...I cried on my couch for days after the op...it was actually the worst thing about the whole experience... keep practicing to breath deeply...walk if you can and instead of trying to drink a whole glass of water at a time have a sippy cup with you constantly and sip mouthfulls of water throughout the day...that helped me. good luck -
"is it normal" please help!!!
flabuless replied to MELANIE's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your body has just been put through the most excruciating of things I mean hey, to be cut open, pumped up with gas and have strange implements put in what should we expect... The worst pain for me post lapband was the gas in your left arm thing...it was so acute I sat on my couch and cried for days and days. but it got better...eventually. This is a small percentage of the rest of your life...and it is so worth it. so hang in there...take your meds and see what tomorro brings? -
How to know if band slipped
flabuless replied to iateyourcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was so petrified of exactly the same thing when I was just starting out in this journey...I must admit I didn't have much will power! but just live each day at a time...try to make good food/amount choices as much as possible. Start excercising...it will make you feel so good about yourself and isn't this primarily what we are doing this for...to feel good about ourselves! Don't fret it will get easier...and very exciting when you start watching the scales go down.! -
ohh those hunger pains...i remember it acutely...it is so much easier when you can eat solids again but hang in there this is only 4 weeks compared to the rest of your life and it is so worth it!

hahaha! very funny ....I like that one!

hehehe! I am doing rsvp.com.au (an australian online dating site...) I have been proactive and contacting others I have had two people respond that they are interested in starting email contact sooo...who knows. Needless to say i don't use the same screen name that I use here...however I have been honest about the amount of weight I have lost and that my body is 'curvy'...my photo's are on password protected...I guess I am still a bit insecure about people seeing them...talking about my body is one thing...allowing poeple to see me a completely different matter. Good Luck and Good on you...It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there...believe me I know!

2 weeks old in my banded life
flabuless replied to makemelean's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can sooooo relate...I did the same thing I have cheated all the way through my lapband journey...I still eat too much now but I am still loosing weight allbeit not as dramatically as some others with the band but enough to keep me satisfied that I haven't totally ruined everything...When I had lapband i thought it was going to magically fix ALL my problems but it actually takes hard work on ourr part as well...We do have to be careful... Dont get yourself down...just have a better day tomorro!
