I am a single mom with two kids (3yr, 1yr) I am doing this for them also...they are the light of my life...pitty about their father but that is another story...So you have come to the right place and they (and YOU) will never regret the important decision you have made to do something about your weight. just you wait very soon as you start feeling great about yourself and your weight starts melting the flood gates will open and it will literally be raining men!!! Congrats and good luck

I too was out and about within a week...adjustments are a slow and gentle thing...hopefully you dr wont make the mistake (my dr did) of putting the maximum in on the 2nd fill! hmmmm just inexperience...he was very new to the lapband procedure...needless to say he fixed it up very pronto. but things like this don't usually happen...just to me! -

Hello from a new Lap bander
flabuless replied to lbrown9289's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Ibrown9289 Congrats on your weightloss so far...thats fantastic...the important thing is to listen to what your body/lapband is saying and make the best food choices that you possibly can...Exercise is also good too...When I eat to much or make the WRONG food choice I exercise...makes me feel better if not helps work it right back off again. Best wishes and keep us posted. -

food getting stuck alot...
flabuless replied to Kristin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I get food stuck alot too. i cant eat without water beside me...but usually it is due to me a. eating too fast or b. not chewing enough...usually this occurs when i am not concentrating on my eating (ie absentminded snacking) I hope it all settles down for you soo. by the way Welcome to LBT -
Welcome Lorrie I dont know of the percentages of this occuring...but there are plenty of 'banders' that have not had any probs with their lapband...I wish you all the best in your weightloss journey

flabuless replied to xlil_misfitx's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Anne it is great that you have come to that realisation...Lapband is not a quick fix there is stil work to be done on our part but it is wayyy worth while! It is also great that you have supportive family my mom was very supportive of me too... infact she paid for the uninsured portion of the surgery...I have never regretted it for a moment and i am sure you wont either since you seem to want it so much...keep us posted as to your progress. -

I wasn't working at the time of surgery...I had just given birth to my youngest so was on maternity leave but I was performing normal household duties, lifting up kids, chopping firewood, cleaning the house within about 4 days of surgery...the only issues i had was a persistant acute shoulder pain (left over gas from surgery) but other than that no probs...Best of luck with your surgery check in often and let us know your progress.
-

You have got the right attitude though. You go girl! this is the beginning of the rest of your life... congrats for getting to this point and good luck -
