  3. Speck, sorry I didnt mend to offend...wrong term...just was referring to the fact that you thought lapband was the right way to go, and you were excited about it but now you are unsure... and disappointed...thats what I meant by the term dissilussionment...I could have put it more tactfully... :xena_banana: becky

    prayer requests for LBT'ers

Wow! I just found this thread wonderful...it is going to take me along time and start praying for everybody post by post...but I am going to commit myself to do just that...You are more than conquerers... and we have an amazing Heavenly Father to lean on in our times of temptations/challenges/disappointments...It is wonderful to see so many God fearing wonderful people committing themselves to pray for each other...count me in too.. My prayer request is simply that i wouldn't turn to food instead of God when I am looking for comfort...my life is pretty mixed up at the moment...separated one year ago from a cheating husband who claimed to be a born again christian too...needless to say it was a huge betrayal...but I have my two wonderful little ones that are gifts from God and I am learning to take one step at a time in my journey of healing/empowerment/trusting God to take care of all my needs. thanks guys Becky :xena_banana:

Welcome Geoff...now the fun begins... keep us posted. :xena_banana: becky
  10. Welcome ask_nyc all those concerns you are having are completely normal...I experienced them myself...but i can honestly say despit the surgery, despite the recovery period, despite the change in lifestyle, despite the feelings of hunger and hard work...I made the best decision for a better life...sure there are sacrifices and habits to change but if you want a healthier, active, more fulfilling lifestyle then you wont regret...lapbanders with complications are in the minority rather than the majority there are risks with every operation however I wouldn't turn back time for the world...If this is what you really want...GO FOR IT! you have nothing to loose but everything to gain...or should that be the other way round 'nothing to gain but everything to loose!' hehehe! :xena_banana: becky

    What to eat....

I enjoyed having creamy soups during my 2nd week post surgery... I regularly had smoothies/milkshakes etc... my favorite..was low fat milk, banana, tsp honey, tsp malt, all blended together until smooth... but I also blended bananas/yoghurt/orange juice together to make a great smoothy... :xena_banana: becky

    Newbie-Need advise to calm Mom

Hi Blownaway...Welcome I think you are doing the right thing by including your mom in on a consult with the doc...she might have a lot more peace once her questions get answered...but regardless I suggest you listen to her concerns...weigh them and then decide what is best for YOU and your health.. :xena_banana: becky

    Feeling down

juliegeraci Wow! you are doing soooo well. Don't be discouraged...they say loosing the weight slower means more chance of you keeping it off... Although I have lost 84 kgs alltogether only 46lb has been post lapband surgery and I had lapband surgery in October 05 that is almost 14 months ago... As long as the scale is staying put or going down you don't have anything to worry about...just enjoy your new found lease on life...and the excitement of seeing the gradual body/shaping changes. :xena_banana: Becky
