Hi ya havin I can so relate as I have Hypothyroidism too...I was diagnosed after years of having it and not knowing...which is why i packed on the weight...334lb at my largest...my insurance company covered me despite the condition...but I am covered by Australian insurance so am not sure about American Insurance Companies. gosh thats a toughy...I would wait...lapband is not that bigga deal you know...really its no-ones business but our own...it doesn't matter how we lost the weight but just that we have...I am also corresponding with a guy through an internet dating site...like you I have shared that i have lost weight but haven't gone into depth on how etc... becky

hehehe thats only because oprah has the millions of dollars necessary for a high tiluting personal trainer and a food slapper! hehehe I only recently found out what a food slapper is.... becky

Hi patsygrn Welcome to LBT...I never had it prior to lapband...but straight after surgery noticed it coming on even before my first fill...fortunately it has calmed down now...I would imagine you will be able to continue taking your meds even after lapband. becky

Oh my gosh...how sad...for that woman not to appreciate the precious gift that she has...I weep for the child. Ok I have my moments but to yell abuse at a child is unforgiveable...they grow up with the scars for the rest of their lives... what kind of parents will they be if that is how they get treated when young.

Yes I knot them to well ... thost darned theater stalls, I call them torture vices! But congratulations...you go girl! I probably wouldn't approached the unfortunate woman either...I mean just think back to how we felt then and how mortified we would have been had someone from out of the blue who we didn't know started to try and talk to us about our weight...I mean no matter how encouraging they might have been trying to be...i know I would have taken offense and felt humiliated and mortified. But one day...who knows you might just come across someone, who, when the time is right, a few carefully chosen words would be the inspiration they need to reclaim their life too! As you are. becky

Hi laurend... My first consult was basically him explaining the procedure...showing me the lapband how it works...answering my questions... etc etc. I had my mom with me so that was pretty cool to have a second opionion there to listen to what he was saying and remind me of things when we left the clinic. All and all nothing overwhelming, or scary. becky

I drink a glass of wine in the evenings...i have occassionaly been known to have a beer or two but I usually undo the cap and let it flatten before i really get into it...I enjoy drinking but in moderation...pick yourself back up onto the horse and giddy-up! there is always tomorro. You'll get there girl! Just you wait...setting the good habits will get easier and easier.

hi there I ate like a pig up to the night of my surgery....Hmmm no so good advice but it was like the 'last supper' for me. But commonsense prevails...if your dr says it you better do it. Good luck on your surgery... becky

wow...I am speechless...12 yrs gee talk about irrasponsible parents...if they had been doing it right before now surely it would not have come to this!!! Mmmm my faith in the world is fast declining...when will it stop! will we start giving 3yr olds 'face jobs' cause they don't look much like their parents? becky

I drink heaps of water too...difference now post lapband is instead of drinking a glass of water at a time i have a huge 2 ltr sipping bottle and i sip on i all through the day...I did that immediately post surgery too. becky

I have never had flouro but man after hearing that.. I want it...sounds like it would take away the unsurety as to what your band is doing...and whether the dr is getting the fill into the right bit...

I was supposed to have 2 weeks clear liquid, 2 weeks get through a straw liquid, 2 weeks sloppy mushies, 2 weeks moving onto harder mushies...all up before solids 2 blimmin months! I didn't though I was into the liquid up the straw thing by the end of the 1st week I had two weeks mushies and was eating solids within the month... becky
