As far as i know you can have any medication...my doctor hasn't told me otherwise...I take thyroxine regularly but it is a very small pill..for pain relief etc i have liquid panadeine...but other than that if I have to take a large pill I crush it...not that i have had to take large pills very often. becky

List Some Medical Reasons To Have Weight Loss Surgery
flabuless replied to ProsperNLose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have hypothyroidism which is basically a life long condition which means my body does not burn energy just stores it...so no matter how much I might try without lapband and without the thyroxin I have to take each day..there is no way I would be able to loose weight on my own. becky -
I can eat chinese but I have to choose carefully...I cant eat alot of rice and I generally stick with chicken/fish dishes that are easier to break down...meat/steak and half cooked vegetable slithers don't tend to go down too well. becky

I am planning on having a tummy tuck when I get to my goal...I cant wait...I might get rid of my flabby arms as well. becky

Welcome to LBT texasmom You sure have got an exciting journey ahead of you...I had my lapband over a year ago now and I told people upfront that I was having it... some couldn't understand but most did and I have had their support and encouragement all the way through still they, having not had it themselves it has been hard for them to adapt to my own change of eating habits etc but joining lapband talk has meant I can communicate with many others that know exactly what I am going through...So this site has been really instrumental/inspiring to my own lapband journey. I wish you all the best as you begin your new life. There will be plenty of challenges/fustrations ahead of you but i can assure you the benefits far outweigh the negatives...I have never regretted my lapband and i hope that, should you decide to go ahead, you will never regret yours. Keep us posted. Becky

New..Need a little help
flabuless replied to dani1397's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi dani1397 What you are going through is completely normal...I felt like I was starving 3 weeks post op...but you need to know it is VERY important that you try to stick to the rules post op...if you don't it can lead to slippage and other complications...now is the time for you to heal...keep with the program..you may not notice a big difference yet you may not even notice until your 3 or 4th fill...I am on my 4th fill and I am still hungry...I haven't reached my 'sweet spot' yet...but while you wait for it to 'kick in' try to make the best choices you can relating to food, exercise etc etc...I am sure you have realised by now that lapband is not a 'easy' road but with commitment it is a very worth while road to take...best wishes and keep us posted...there is heaps of support to be found here and we are always here...Feel free to pm/email me at any time if you want advice or encouragement or just someone to vent too...My door is always open to ANYBODY! Becky -
