Hi shellie welcome to LBT! in actual fact I think it is easier to loose more weight once you are on solids...you get the consistency effect and the restriction is a lot more pronounced. sure, it may take a few fills before you reach your sweet spot but I wouldn't be worried about putting on more weight...sounds like you are doing just fine! becky

I know that confusing feeling of being hungry or full...the bottom part of my tummy (the big one is ALWAYS hungry) but the top part is always full! kind of strange aye? but I agree with losingjusme...sip, sip, sip even with clear liquids you wont beable to drink as much in one gulp as you used to...just take it easy. I am glad otherwise you are feeling ok. (i hope) keep us posted. :girl_hug: becky

Insurance just approved getting banded in Mid January
flabuless replied to redstrat's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi ya joe welcome to LBT. Congrats on your surgery date! I have been banded for over twelve months now and have had a very slow progress so it really depends on the person (and your level of commitment) as to how much you can loose. The first 60 days i didn't loose any weight...I wasn't filled until after that but my dr wasn't worried about it he said that the first we while is the time for healing post surgery. You cant feel the port mostly...I mean you can feel it when you touch it with your hands but as to feeling it inside not so much...but sometimes when I lie on my side I think it might pinch a nerve or something cause I get slight pain occassionally and I just need to change my position. Recovery for me post surgery only took 3-4 days so its very quick. Yes when you get to your 'sweet spot' you do feel full but it can take months and multiple fills to get to that spot...time leading up to that you may only feel slight restriction but get hungry easily...it just depends on the person. In answer to your last question I was exercising within the first 24 hours...just small amounts of walking but it did help with the gas pains. Other than that, I love my lapband and for all the minor fustrations/inconveniences I wouldnt have it any other way. keep us posted! :girl_hug: becky -
Hello! Brand new and need some advise!
flabuless replied to Ninababy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ninababy...we were all as nervous about the commitment as you are wondering if we are going to be able to do it, wondering if it will make us so miserable not being able to eat as much as we have been but the good news is you can still enjoy food...probably more so with the band...with not eating so much you get used to savouring the flavour! and when the lbs start melting off it is such a positive experience and soooooo... exciting...giving you enough motivation to keep on going and most importantly to keep with the program!!! It is overwhelming at times expecially before the surgery but for me it was the best thing I ever did...and I don't regret it. LBT is a great place for support and encouragement and we are here for each other so this is a grand place to start the journey ahead of you...keep us posted! :girl_hug: becky -

Welcome tracy and good luck on your dr's appointment...as to the 'foreign object thing' you get used to it and as long as you follow the rules you'll probably forget that it is even there... You have an exciting journey ahead of you and make sure you keep us posted too. Wont be long now before you are another one of Lap band Talks' success stories. :girl_hug: becky -

You have heard the saying 'my eyes are bigger than my tummy' that is soooo mee! I know what portions I should be eating...and i even start feeling full at the right time after a few bites but godamnit it tastes so good I just feel compelled to keep on eating....I wish I could break myself out of that habit...I know its not good for me or the band. and I need to work on it. becky

flabuless replied to jsagiha's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
jsagiha please do call your dr just to be on the safe side...I know it can take weeks after your fill to start bp'ing but if you are doing it constantly and in pain...that needs to be checked out. you don't want the risk of slippage/erosion or anything...keep us posted. becky -

Too Tight, now I can eat a cow. Advice, please.
flabuless replied to ChicagoCoco's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
yes unfills are very discouraging by their very nature...I was in the same situation as you and had an unfill (which i realise was necessary cause I could'nt even keep water down) however when he took it out I was less restricted than ever though I did technically still have more in than my second to last...grrr...I am hoping that when I go again. it will get back to normal and I will find my 'sweet spot' becky -
I hate my scales...I have taken to measuring my body with measuring tape...far more accurate. Grrrr cant wait to throw away the scales and never need to look at them again! becky

Hi ya I have a 4cc band although I am currently filled to 3.5 and still need more so it really depends on the person/tummy etc. becky
