    Researching in Florida

Welcome Honduras my only regret is similar to above...I have not been utilising the 'tool' for all its worth. Other than that it was the best thing I ever did. becky

    Hi everyone

love 637. I havent been able to eat a handburger post lapband...but then again I have only tried once as a special treat...but couldn't eat more than two bites before it all started to try and come right back up again! With lapband you relationship with food changes you are no longer eating for the sake of it but you are learning to eat yourself slim. you may find once you get banded that hamburgers don't hold their appeal the same us they used to. Best wishes on your research. Becky

    Want to be banded too

Jeanette Welcome to Lapband Talk. Your story is incredibly similar to the rest of us here at LBT. So we totally know what you mean when you say you have struggled with weight issues. For me lapband was just the change I needed and I have never regreted it. Here's hoping that all goes well with your insurance and/or telling your husband. keep us posted. becky

    Surgery Tomorrow

Rosierdays. Good luck on your surgery...pop back when you can and let us know how you went! I am looking forward to getting to know a lighter, happier you! Becky
  6. I went on Dr C's link to an itube presentation he posted on lapband fills...in itube right next to his video under 'related' was this...an actual real live video of the lapband surgery being done. Beware it is very graphic and not for the weak stomach! But if you are more than a little curious have a look! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pu28WX81Pc0&mode=related&search=]YouTube - Adjustable Gastric Band[/ame] After watching it all I can say is Oh my Gawd! they did that to me...no wonder I was sore post surgery... but hey the wonders of medical science. Its that little thing that has literally saved my life. :bananapartyhat: becky

Birds eye view of Lapband Surgery

I know...I had no idea how they actually do it until I saw that vid... pretty awesome! :bananapartyhat:
  8. I cant even cheat on my estranged husband! we have been separated for a year and both of us are not interested in getting back together but we are holding off on formalising things while we both get our lives together to make sure. Maybe the right person hasn't come along for me... lord knows I have urges...but for me though our marriage maybe nearly over I cannot bring myself to even talk to another guy let alone cheat on my x. :bananapartyhat: becky

    Not losing.....

Also the most obvious reason could be difference of scales!!! was it the same scales in exactly the same position which you weighed yourself pre and post...my drs scales are a lot more flattering than my own...I like getting weighed there cause I am always about 6lbs lighter than what my home scales say!!!hehehe but for personal reasons I go by my home scales as these are the most regular ones that I use. :bananapartyhat: becky

Cheating? Is it worth the risk?

oh cuddlebug we have all been there! me perhaps more than others. I will say what I always say to myself...one day at a time. there is always tomorro. I have so called 'cheated' heaps (although cheating post lapband is far different from cheating prelapband) however, so far so good am still loosing weight and still feeling no negative affects to my band. I am a calculated cheater though! I think...if I eat this I will probably have to do a 10k walk tomorro! let me tell you sometimes that alone is more than enough to stop me from doing it!!! Best wishes. :bananapartyhat: becky
  11. Gabi one day at a time if you fall off the bandwagon today you always have tomorro. Personally, if I eat something I shouldn't I go for a 1hr power walk to at least try and cancel out some of its negative affects...Carrot cake is my nemesis Grrrr! :bananapartyhat: becky

    Inproving the liquid diet

I drank heaps of liquid yogurt I don't know if you have them where you are but they are yummy. sort of like a fruity yogurt watered down with low fat milk & juice etc...This was and still is my 'treat'. I never tired of them even post the liquid phase! :bananapartyhat: becky

    Sabotage!

Wow kynnekke What will power! I don't think I would be able to be as strong as you! You are an inspiration to us all! I think your mum is just insecure as you keep on loosing weight and doing great she is going to have to look at her own self and she doesn't want to do that...easier to keep you large then have to deal with herself. The force be with you! :bananapartyhat: becky

    I need to vent

you go girl! do what makes YOU happy and feel good...what others think does not matter. You will be a better person for it...even if you have to make decisions that are not popular with family/friends... :bananapartyhat: becky
  18. flabuless

    What pushed you to commit?

I have to say my reason is exactly the same as pat's I also have thyroid disease and it was weightloss or my life! needless to say I chose life...with medication I can manage the disease but it does nothing to help me loose the weight that has accrued because of it...the lapband helps me to manage that. I am lighter and happier and have no regrets regarding my decision...although it is taking hard work and will power to work with the band and not against it. It is worth it! :bananapartyhat: becky
  19. flabuless

I cannot believe I fit in that.

    Rewards!

hmmm sweet rewards! the look on my estranged husbands face when he sees me at my goal weight and realises what he missed out on...who's the big fat cow sitting on the couch eating chocolate now...LOOSER! We are in different countries now and when i allow him to see me next i am going to knock his socks of and leave him hanging by his ****? (you know what i mean!) :bananapartyhat: Becky
  22. hehe! my confession is that i actually put on a couple of pounds in my first week! but i was actually on a high caloric liquid diet! my dr didnt mind...more important that i heal! :bananapartyhat: becky

    New and Just Banded

Welcome forgivenbygod2 (love the name) Congrats on your surgery. Best advice I can give you at this stage is take it easy...dont try and push solids on yourself too quickly bring it on ever so gradually...The lapband sounds as if it is working fine...now is the time to give your body time to heal...Best wishes and keep us posted. :bananapartyhat: becky

    New here

Welcome to LBT Rachel Lapband has worked for me and I don't regret it...I was petrified leading up to the surgery and after that I wasn't going to survive with all the eating considerations/rules. but I take one day at a time and slowly I am getting down. Best wishes on your decision making if you decide that it is right for you (even if you decide it is not right for that matter) there is plenty of ongoing support to be found here. I look forward to hearing of your decision and personal weightloss journey. :bananapartyhat: becky
