Yea sorry what i meant by prescription is that my dr's office organised it through a chemist...but i know you can get it...go into a chemist and see how you go. it may not be something they have ready on hand which is why perhaps my drs office had to order it in especially. becky

Welcome to LBT kerry. I had my band in australia it would have taken 6 weeks for initial consultation to actual surgery however, I discovered I was pregnant a week before the surgery was to take place...needless to say i had to delay it for 10months! Best wishes as you embark on this journey. keep us posted. becky

Depending on what I eat I feel the restriction ie if I have a plate of vegetables and meat I feel the restriction easier than say if I just have toast, crackers, pitabread, rice or cake and it is too easy when you don't feel the restriction to just keep on eating...so now I make a point to cook myself full meals so that I don't over do it. I too was at a stand point for about 6 months but I realise my diet consisted mostly of bread and toast and hardly any vegetables since I have made that change in my diet I have started loosing again. I hope this helps somehow...but keep the faith. Talk to your dr if you are really worried. becky

Wow she smiles that is fabuless! my mom came around today to pin some old outfits of mine to try and take them in for now. I too have a problem spending money on new clothes which I am not going to be in for long... but I have made a pact with myself that when I get down to under 100kg (220lbs) I am going to atleast get a few mixables ie trousers, tops, skirts to keep me going until I get down to my goal of 80kgs (176lbs). i am 115kgs (250lbs) at pressent. But you go girl! it feels good doesn't it! becky

I am still trying to quit...I only started a year ago post surgery but my headspace with the break up of my marriage hasn't been all that good so I have indulged myself in that addictive habbit...I keep on telling myself i had lapband to get myself healthy and here I am just making myself unhealthy by my smoking...I will get there... I am just too used to having this crutch at the moment. becky

22 days until LB!!
flabuless replied to phlyinphebee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there phlyinphebee I found it difficult getting in and out of bed! I also had a 6 week yr old daughter at the time and I could hold her ok and carry her but picking her up from the ground or anywhere that I had to bend was a struggle...my mom fortunately was there to help me with her. becky -
I was in a similar position I had a date a month away but they called me with a cancellation for the next week!!!! I chose the earlier date...I just wanted to get it out of the way and start getting on with my new life...so my advise is go for it! becky
-
Cherg All the above advise is good advise...please listen to reason. You are doing this for yourself to be healthier not to make yourself sicker...Talk to your dr and love yourself give yourself room to breath...its ok if you have slower weightloss a little unfill could help a lot...YOU CAN DO THIS! hugs becky
-
Gosh Becca that is surely going to be a feat for you but if you really want to GO FOR IT...make sure you do get enough walking done before hand though babe! you dont want to risk that particular complication. becky
-
Water, water, water and exercise helped me...I also took a little fiber granules which softened it some for it to come down. However, it still hurt like hell passing it though! (sorry for the unwanted visions) becky
-
one persons treat can be another persons poison!!! I ate a lot of poison this holiday...but I will make up for it. becky

I also had to wear stockings for 24 hrs post surgery for blood clots. becky

Hi The New Me Sorry to hear of your experience...I am sure lots of prebanders will appreciate this advice so thanks for sharing! But I hope your recovery is back on track now so that you can start this journey with confidence that despite all you have done the best thing for yourself and your future. keep us posted! becky -
Welcome Syra and Congratulations on your surgery date! For me it took about 3-4 days to recover to the point that I could start power walking (exercise) and participate in life again. I hope it is the same for you. Best wishes and keep us posted on your progress. becky
