Hi my weight loss has been slow also. I have had my band for 2years and 3 months. It has taken me that long to loose 51 kilos. Don't be discouraged. Any weight loss is good.

Keep going. It is easy to feel like you have failed. Just go back to why you wanted the operation in the first place. Speak to your doctor that is what they are for. Keep making little changes they all add up to big changes eventually. Every journey starts with the first small step.

Small Bites... a question for the experienced bandster
normal life replied to Poodles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi i find chewing my food well about 25 times helps and i never drink after i have eaten at least for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Sometimes getting up and walking around if something is stuck helps to push it down. I hope that helps. Bye -
How Do You Take Medications?
normal life replied to mslynn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi i take my daily tablets by crushing them between two spoons. I then mix them with some yoghurt or diet jelly to take away the awful taste. I hope that helps. -
Hi you must feel out of control i know i did. I put off going back to my specialist because i was eating big amounts again and thought i had stretched my band as well. I went back yesterday he was very understanding and filled me up again. To 3ml. Please seek advise from your specialist don't wait like i did and put on 9kg while i was worrying about my band. They are there to help you. GOOD LUCK

Hi i was so nervous while i waited to be took in for my surgery. I laid on the operating table petrified. If i hadn't have had a backless surgical gown and no undies on i would have left. I thought about all the things i would be able to do with my life and my family once i had the procedure done. Luckily they came and got me for surgery soon after. Even though its hard and a challenge and sometimes things don't always go as they should i consider the surgery the most positive thing i have done for myself. GOOD LUCK

Dont give up. Remember your original reason for having the operation. Don't loose sight of that. We are all working towards a common goal of being healthy and happy.

Hi this is my first time on this website. Have been to a new specialist today he was great better than the original who put in the lap band in january 2005. Learn't more from him in a few minutes than the last specialist in 5 months. Had been putting on weight for over a year i realised if i didn't go to the specialist i would be back to where i started. As it is i put on 9 kilos over a year. Worst of all i started to feel tired, depressed and grumpy all over again. We need to keep in site why we originally had the lap band procedure in the first place. I put of going to the specialist because i was embarrased that i had fallen back to my old ways. I originally wanted to loose weight for my health and to be able to grow old and not die of a heart attack or any other complication from eating myself to death. We all need to keep our goals in mind and support each other. Have a good week. Good luck to everyone.
