Thanks HappyHomeCC and Lap_Dancer. I love being a new mom again. I have sooooo much more energy this time around. I can't wait until my 6 week checkup to be able to exercise again. Congratulations to your daughter Lap_Dancer. I love the name she picked out!!

On July 13, 2010 at 2:17 pm we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Jackson Alexander to our family. He came at 37 weeks and we both had a rough time for a few days but after 4 days in the hospital we both were released and are home and healthy and happy. He weighed 6 lb. 7 oz. and is 19.5 inches long. I am so thankful to my band for allowing this beautiful baby into my life. I hope all who pray for a lap band baby get their dreams realized. I am glad to say I only gained 16 lbs with this pregnancy and at my 1st week follow-up I lost all my pregnancy weight plus 2 extra pounds.

Thanks MRSKOUBIK, Tracy and Ivy. Baby is doing great. Ivy, no I kept my fill the entire time I was pregnant. I had a fill 11-11-09 and found out I was pregnant the following week. I had 7cc in 10cc band entire pregnancy.

Losethemess, I became pregnant exactly one year from my lap-band surg. My husband and I were not exactly trying but feel very blessed at our new addition. I had lost 115 lbs. and still had 70 to lose. I too with my first baby gained a tremendous amount of weight and of course did not lose any of it plus gained an additional 40 on top of that after being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2007 and had to endure chemo and radiation treatments and was told that the chemo may make me infertile. I did have injections of lupron to shut my ovaries down during that time to hopefully preserve my ovaries. My doctor did give me a weight gain limit of 15 lbs. because I am still overweight and I am glad she did I did not want to gain a whole lot of weight with this one.The Lap-band made it very easy to control myself during my pregnancy and my baby is doing great! Thanks blaze for the congrats. I am on my way to losing the rest of the weight I began to lose almost 2 yrs ago.

Losethemess to answer some of your questions, I did not get my band unfilled. My doctor said only if you are unable to keep food or water down do you need an unfill and as long as the baby is growing on schedule. I continued to watch what I ate but yes I did let myself indulge a few times. I was lucky to crave good things like salad and soup and fish while pregnant. My fill was 7 cc in 10 cc band my entire pregnancy. Since I delivered my band seems to be tighter. I'm sure this will only last for a while because of all the swelling from my c-section. I'm enjoying the ride though and happy to be on the other side of pregnancy. Thanks ppp and happy for the congratulations.

When did you get unfilled after finding out you were pregnant?

Im 33 1/2 weeks pregnant and still have my fill which is about 7cc in a 10cc band. It is getting more difficult to eat towards the end of my pregnancy but my doc says I only have to get unfilled if I cannot keep food or water down. I have gained about 12 lbs so far and I am very pleased with this. Baby is doing fine and growing well. Hope everyone's pregnancy is going well. I am glad to be almost at the finish line. -
Congratulations!! You are doing a fabulous job. Keep it up and you will be at your goal in no time. I bet you feel 100% better. I know I do.

Hello World...I'm back...with a new goal.
ok813 commented on julie.ann's blog entry in My Secret Journey
Congratulations on getting back on track. Alot of people hit road bumps on their journey with the band. Mine was after exactly one year and losing 115 lbs. I got pregnant (not expected or planned). I am now 7 mths. pregnant and had to put my weight loss on hold. I have thankfully only gained 10 lbs so far with this pregnancy a far cry from the 50 lbs I gained with my first son. I am also very goal oriented. I can't wait to get back to the gym and dieting so I can be at goal by my 2nd bandiversary. I thought I would be getting a tummy tuck and breast job this year but plans change and you have to roll with whatever your dealt. Good luck, sounds like you have a great plan. -

Hey there ladies, I'm 1 year 5 mths out from surgery. I am 25 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow and have only gained 10 lbs so far. My doctor put a weight limit of 15 lbs. for the entire pregnancy because I'm still overweight. I have not had any of my fills removed, my surgeon says only if you have difficulty keeping food or water down will you need to have any removed. So far so good as far as that goes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep my fills throughout my pregnancy. Good luck with your pregnancy. Hope all is well. -
Congratulations!! I know your exact feelings. I was one year out from surgery and just getting into my groove when boom pregnancy happened. I also had mixed feelings. I am now 23 1/2 weeks pregnant and only gained 10 lbs. so far a far cry from the 50 I gained with my first pregnancy. I know it will come off after the baby is born and I am now very excited to have a new baby in July. Take care, I hope everything is ok with your band.

Thanks for the sweet message. I am still a work in progress. One year almost to the day I found out I was pregnant. Very unexpected. I am 23 1/2 weeks pregnant. I am happy to say I have only gained 10 lbs so far. It does get easier but there are speed bumps that sometimes pop up but you just have to deal with them one at a time. I was only 1/2 way through my journey when I became pregnant but I do intend to finish my journey asap after the new baby is born. Best of luck to you, You will have great results if you stay the course.

GREAT JOB!! Keep it up and you will be at your goal in no time!! Best wishes and continued success!!

Hey ladies, I'm 13 weeks pregnant and thankfully haven't gained anything but instead I have gained a umbilical hernia which totally sucks. Hopefully my weight gain will continue at a minimum. I know wishful thinking. Good luck everyone.

Wow you can really see a difference. Don't get discouraged. You are doing wonderful. You definately need to take pictures more often. That is the only way I saw that I lost weight. The mirror played tricks on me but the camera doesn't lie. Keep up the good work.

Good luck to you!! You will do great!!

Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
ok813 replied to raynie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Thanks Ziahmama for your concern. I don't plan to exercise as hard as I was prior to the pregnancy but I do plan to keep walking a few miles a day. Hopefully that will delay any weight gain. The doctor said to try to gain a minimal amount of weight because I am still overweight and the baby will get what it needs. I am soooo tired right now. I had an ultrasound yesterday and I am 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant my baby is due Aug. 2nd, 2010. Good luck to all the pregnant ladies out there.:rolleyes2:
