Hallelujah- A sandwich I can eat!!!
BeefromCalie replied to JWL08's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
this is good to know. i've been thinking about bread as i will soon be approaching 6 months. Bread has always been for me a take it or leave it. But i did eat sanwiches for lunch just because they were easy. I think I'm gonna keep telling myself bread is a no no because I don't really miss it that much. -

Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1
BeefromCalie replied to Band_Groupie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
4 weeks seems like a long time to wait for something that seems urgent. I would call the doctor's office back and tell them I need an urgent appt. -
I'm still here  Weight lost is slow but I'll take the blame as I really don't get enough excerise. But I'm working on changing that. And I do still eat a little, well some junk food. I am happy though that most of my clothes look really bad on me so I've been buying a few things here and there. Docs says don't buy to many because if you do what you are suppose to do then you will just have to buy more again. (I think he was trying to keep me encouraged.) I did sign up for the turkey day challenge so hopefully that will motivate me to do better. Have a nice day bunnies:rolleyes2:

BeefromCalie replied to Band_Groupie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
1. WEIGHT- lost 41 lbs since surgery April 16th 2. FILLS- 3 fills total of 3.6 3. RESTRICTION- somewhat 4. RULES- following most of the rules. Just not getting enough excerise. 5. ANYTHING ELSE- get stuck eating chicken if I don't chew well. Everything else seems to go down ok -
How long did you have to take off work?
BeefromCalie replied to AnastaysaMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on Thurs - spent the night in the hospital (mandatory) went home Friday, went and got a pedicure and went to the hair salon on Sat. I went back to work on Tues. I was not scheduled to go back until Wed. but I felt fine. It all depends on you and how strong you are and how good your surgeon is. -
What can't you eat??
BeefromCalie replied to southernbelle13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 5 months out. I have not tried bread yet or pasta, I've had a very small amount of rice. So far I can eat pretty much anything. Sometimes I have trouble with chicken if I don't chew it well or if I take to big of a bite. Had a hard time once with steak but again I did not chew it well and it was a little well done. I agree with the other posters everyone is different. I have never really PB'd but I have been stuck from chicken. I had my surgery in April and have never puked once. -
I ate grapes today mid morning, mine sound just like yours big fat juicy green grapes. I did eat them slow and I don't usually pop the whole thing in my mouth if it's big I'll bite half of it. But I did notice that I was not I was not hungry at lunch time, around 2:00.

Any Regrets After Lap Band?
BeefromCalie replied to sammy3552's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I got my band in April 09 and I have no regrets. Yes like all the others I wish I had it done sooner. I have very little restrictions and pray that I don't have any issues down the road because I would hate to have to have my band removed. -

hello, I too am sorry for your lost. How weird is that my mom passed away exactly 1 week after her 67th birthday, and to add to that her sister passed about last Oct exactly 1 week after her 70th birthday. I got a fill on Tuesday and actually am feeling a little restriction. wonder how long that will last as i only have 2.6cc in my band.

Hello to all of my Bandster buddies:smile2:, I too have been MIA.. But I'm back now. My mom got sick in June and passed way in mid-July :-( so I have really been on an emotional roller coaster. She's originally from the South so when her sister's came out to see her they were cooking up a storm. I wasn't super bad by eating a lot just eating things I probably should not have eaten. (cake, cake, more cake. Fried fish, Fried chicken, you name it. I kept telling myself I was too busy and to depressed to excerise. I had my second fill yesterday I now have a whopping 2.6 cc's in a standard APband. Hopefully I will get some good restriction. Doc seems to be a little conservative on the fills. Anyways I'm ready to start exercising again and hopefully get my head back in the game. __________________

Mines did not. But I had my husband take pics before we left the house the morning of my surgery. I took front and both sides, and face only. I just took the pics again at 4 months (in the same clothes (now baggy) and I will take them again in 6 months.

Banded Aug 11..constipation?
BeefromCalie replied to sweetkissez42061's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my preop class they recommended using benefiber. I did not have a problem though so I never used it. -
I tried something over the counter a few months after surgery but it kind of irritated my skin. I should have guessed because sometimes my skin is sensative. I bought mederma shortly after that but I did not try it yet. My scars are really not that bad. The upper ones are a little dark but the one where the port is is really not that visible.

I keep reading and reading the average is 1 to 2 pounds per week so looks like you are on target. Are you feeling restriction yet?

BeefromCalie replied to Band_Groupie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
1. WEIGHT- slowly losing - even gained 4 pounds one week. Think I was retaining water and that TOM. 2. FILLS- had 1 fill 1.6cc 6 weeks after surgery. no fill at surgery 3. RESTRICTION- a little. I haven't tried to see how much I can eat. I just stop at small portions. 4. RULES- following most of the rules. Probably not getting enough protein. Excerise is in-consistant and the drinking thing is kind of hard sometimes. 5. ANYTHING ELSE- follow up appt to fill is 6 weeks so I will not be getting second fill until at least 4 weeks after that. so like 10 weeks at least in between fills. -
Got my first fill yesterday. Got 1.6ccs. It went pretty good. I had to done through / Fluro. My doctor was pretty fun he said don't be shy, let me show you what everything looks like. He gave me a numbing shot which I did not fill at all. The only thing I felt was a little pressure when he was mashing on my stomach. I think he had to stick me a couple of times but I barely felt a little prick. Then they stood me up and had me drink some barium drink. It didn't go down very well so I guess he took some out put some in until he was satisfied with how it was going down. He had me drink some Water and then a little more barium. So I'm on liquids yesterday and today and then he said back to regular food. Regular food? I feel like I have not really had regular food with the exception of chicken since I have been trying to do the Protein thing. The doctor told me to come back and see him in 4 to 6 weeks to see how everything is going. He said not to schedule the next fill yet though until he see's how it's going. I sure hope the fill works and holds. I'm suppose to go out to lunch tomorrow with some friends I sure hope we go somewhere that has Soup or somewhere I can get Breakfast then at least I can have some eggs and sausage. I have not told them about my band. Good luck to the rest of my fellow bunny bandsters on their upcoming fills.

Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1
BeefromCalie replied to Band_Groupie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Finally got my real first nsv. We had a fire drill yesterday at work so everyone had to evacuate to the parking lot at the same time. I saw one of my old co-workers I haven't seen in about a month. (we don't work on the same floor anymore). Anyways I saw her in the parking lot and we had a nice little chit chat mostly about my son and the prom. There was a few of us chating. I got a call shortly after I arrived at work from her today. She needed some help and she knew I knew the answer to her question even though I no longer work in that department. While I was looking for the answer she said "I didn't want to say anything in front of everybody yesterday but you look good, looks like you lost some weight." I thanked her for the compliment and she went on, asking if I was dieting and I told her well I've been eating a lot differently and I try to work out a few times a week. She said well you look good. I have to say that made me feel better especially since I don't know why but I gain 1 1/2 pound even though I have been eating right and very small amounts and working out almost every day. -
