It happens to me also, especially the first couple of weeks after a fill. I assumed it the weight in my stomach blocking the food. If I lean back in my chair or stand it's ok.

I was banded in July and am under United Health Care. I received a letter a few weeks ago saying United Health Care couldn't negotiate for 2010 and I would need to select a new insurance. The Barix Clinic I goto suggested looking into Aetna Insurance. They told me to make sure it would cover any future surgeries I might need if the band would slip, etc.

I was banded on the 7/14/09. I've only lost 28 lbs and been playing with 2 lbs up and down the last couple of weeks. I had a fill last week and my appetite is wayyyy down. I think you are doing great. I don't know how much you have to lose but it seems like the ones that lose too fast have problems with stretched skin afterwards. Another topic - does anyone have pain in their right side close to their port? Seems like just when I'm standing. Not sure what it is?

I just had my first fill this morning. Piece of cake. I have a 10cc band. 3cc's filled at surgery and they tried for two more but the water wasn't going down well so they took half a cc out. I've had a protein drink for lunch and feel really full. Hope the feeling lasts. They are going to add another cc every three weeks.

Glad to hear it wasn't bad. I get my first fill tomorrow morning. Hopefully it takes care of the hunger. Your weight loss is great. I've only lost about 22.

I'm also getting my first fill on the 26th. Can't wait - hoping for some restriction because I have next to none now and it's been a long 6 weeks!

I'm new at posting: Surgery date was July 14th. Not hungry at all for around two weeks then my appetite came back with a vengance. I get my first fill on Wednesday - hope it helps. I've lost about 2.8 this week but that's the first the scales have moved in about two weeks. I've lost a total of 22 lbs.

This is my first post although I've been watching this site for over a year. It's been so helpful and I'm glad there is an over 50 group. I'll be 58 next month and having my surgery on the 14th. Little nervous but excited at the same time. It's good to know that many of you "over 50" have had good success. I feel better just losing the 10lbs on pre-diet. Thanks for all the info and encouraging words. It's helped alot.:tongue_smilie:
