Hey Marianne, I'm new to the site as well. I was banded on Feb. 13th. I never considered bypass because of the numerous risks involved. Everyone that I know that has had bypass has had serious health issues. Last week, one of those people passed away. I will always say banding is better: less invasive; less risk. I pray that you and your doctor make the right decision. If you are not comfortable with what the doctor suggests, then get another opinio. It's your body and your life!

    Hello Everyone

 Hello Everyone: I was banded by Dr. Alan Cribbens in Dallas TX on Friday, February 13, 2009. Yes, I said Friday the 13th--but I'm not supersticious. Just to let you know, I haven't had any complications at all and I'm doing fine, regardless of the "unlucky" day. To date, I've lost 27 pounds! Woo Hoo!! I feel great! I've got a long way to go, though. My goal is 150 and I began this journey at 334. The only problem I'm experiencing these days is getting enough fiber in my daily diet. Any suggestions?
