  1. so reassuring to know that other people are going through the same thing!....i know that we will all prevail over this dang time of the month!!!!! looking forward to that fill big time!
  2. i have been doing so well, since my banding in march, not feeling hungry, making wise choices, wellllll...today , that went out the window, i ate 12 samoa girl scout cookies without one bit of resistance......kentucky fried chicken,...and searching for chocolate tonite, it was as if there were no band in place, and i have been feeling resistance even tho i havent had a fill yet, anyone else get like this from time to time, i am hoping for a better day tomorrow
  3. thank you tondavi, so far today is better, and you are right, it is hard, and i have to expect pitfalls.....nose to the grindstone...i'll have a better day today!
  4. i hope so, just feel disappointed in myself, and that the band didnt stop me from eating 12 cookies at a time!!!!....tomorrow, i will be in a better frame of mind, i hope!
  5. hello, i was banded on the 31st of march, and thought i was ready to go back to work on this past tues, the 14th, but my surgeon had faxed over a lifting restriction of nothing greater than 20 lbs for 6 weeks,, and the work doctor did not clear me because i am a nurse, and our department does not take anyone back with any lifting restrictions. I did not think this would be the case at all post op, because all i heard preop was how quickly people return to work, did anyone else have this length of lifting precaution placed on them as well? thank you!
  6. that is what i was wondering too, because i used my eib , rather than pto, a note is necessary...well, i will talk to his partner tomorrow, my surgeon is away on vacation, i never met this guy, so we'll see...part of me would love another 3 weeks off, but part of me is going insane at home!
  7. that is what i am wondering, tomorrow will be my first post op visit, and i had called ahead to ask the office staff the doctors policy of weight restriction , and they again confirmed that it was nothing over 20 lbs....we'll see what he says, i have the 'time' in my extended illness bank, but i feel like i am leaving my coworkers in a fix because, i am on the schedulle already for the next 3 weeks, and they would have to find coverage for me......

    Am I Full or Stuck!?

i had my surgery on the 31st of march, and i experienced what you described, the pain is intense, and like a 'lump' in my throat , broke out into a sweat, and ultimately it just came back up, and felt better immediately, i attribute it to not chewing my egg white carefully and eating too fast...not fun!!!!!!!
  9. Hello, I know i shouldnt dwell on it, because, i must consider the source, but is spoke to a neighbor today who i had not told about the surgery and he was 'chock' full of great information, such as, remember, you cant go back to your old ways, because you will gain the weight back, and 'you know, many people gain the weight back, you must be very careful". I guess it was the unsolicited advice that annoyed me the most and that it was coming from someone i didnt even tell!!! it just put me in a down mood for the rest of the day...i know i have to prepare myself for people to say unhelpful things,, but i just wasnt in the mood for it today!!
  10. thank you everyone, i knew that posting would help me, and it has....i think it is a matter of people not being educated about the band and what good it can do for people, some people just like to focus on the potential negatives...have a Happy Easter
  11. i had told one of my neighbors, and i guess i was mailbox chat one day, you know, i def. dont care that they know i had the surgery, but just to start in on the negative 'heresay' really bugged me, i just thanked him, and quickly got off the phone and said "Happy Easter"
  12. that is fantastic, cant wait to see that number myself, congratulations, you must be working very hard
  13. I was banded on the 31st , was on clears for 48 hours and now Protein shakes and fulls ( sweet potato Soup, yogurt), and i cant say that i have felt any real resistance with the band, is this normal?...does the real 'banding' feeling only come when solids are introduced? new jersey
  14. thanks for the reassurance, the hunger has been a bit more manageable the past few days, sf jello has helped, and i just have been keeping myself busy, looking forward to having tuna next thursday! the protein shakes definitely are helping, i have to remember, right now, i am getting better nutrition than any of the garbage i was putting in my mouth before surgery, ie taco bell after work at midnite, mcdonalds, ringdings....it was almost as if i was testing my body to the limit, i will take comfort in these hunger pangs that i am doing something good for myself, take care and thnks

    should i be this hungry?

i was banded on the 31st and i am hungry as well, i am now on full liquides, creamed soups and such and i wanted to see how fast they would go through, so i poured them thru a funnel ,in and out it went, so now i can understand why we wouldnt feel full yet, but i tell you what having a sugar free jello really seems to help, because that doesnt pass as quickly...i cant wait until next week to eat! but the unjury protein shakes are def helping i am having 2 8oz servings of those a day...mar
  16. gamyj, oh that is good to hear....did you take some time off from work, i am a nurse and took off 2 weeks,...i figure that will be enough time to get my "head back on my shoulders"...how many calories would you say you were on at this point out 4 days post of
  17. ok, that is good to know, i guess i was not expecting to feel hunger this early on, but it is post op day 4 and i have to say, i dont feel as weak, the protein shakes help a bit
